Gorgeous. Bonnie your the only instructor I’ve found who gives the Canadian size crochet hook, and I really appreciate that. I don’t crochet , but I’m going to give it a try. I will rewind as many times as I need, as I want to learn. I’m a die hard knitter. I’m 82 years young, and I have all the time in the world, and not a quitter. ❤️❤️🇨🇦
Thank you for your kind encouragement Christina! I so love your positive attitude. It reminds me of a sweet friend who when turning 82 said that she was just "28 backwards!" Never lose this my friend. I want to be like you when I grow up! Take care.
YAYYYY!!! You make this teacher VERY happy with this comment Frenchie Florida! My goal all along has been to enable folks to do these stitches, and to not think them "too difficult". I NEVER want' folks to leave this amazing craft because they are bored with it.
Bonnie, thank you for sharing your patterns and teaching me to become better at crocheting. I have completed 4 of the autumn cable throw since March, 1 Redskins football poncho, and one beautiful Celtic Mandala throw....your videos inspire me to get better and your encouragement to read the instructions while following the video have resulted in me actually understanding written instructions! (major accomplishment for me!) thanks again...
Hi Bonnie, Can't say I didn't give it my all😪 ... I was doing great until we got to the cables then well with these bad eyes 👀. I've never ripped out and redone so many times in my life... You're a wonderful teacher and I absolutely loved your pattern. I taught myself years ago how to crochet, I just don't know how to read a pattern. Love learning new things but this one is the first one I failed at......It is beautiful 😍
The problem is that even though the video is slowed down she does not clearly show what stitch to use on the top. If it was shown very specific, very slowly and the exact stitch there would be no problem. I’ve made many of her projects but I had to give up on my last which I ripped out so many times I’m embarrassed to say. I had no trouble with her shawls and other projects and throws but the this throw and the Celtic, I was unsuccessful as well. Unfortunately, she took for granted that we knew which stitch to go into. Anyone can make this if the visual was slower and CLEARER for the specific stitches.
What a stunning blanket! I’m not quite ready for this project yet, but with a bit more practice perhaps it won’t be too terribly long! Thank you so much for this wonderfully done tutorial. Your patience is amazing.
I call this my COVID blanket. I started it at the beginning of COVID and completed it a year later, taking my time with it. It is very warm and the cabling makes it look original. I completed it in a light grey yarn containing 75% wool. Somehow I made some mistakes in the cabling sections, but the result was consistent and only noticeable when I looked at the photo of the actual pattern. I have been crocheting for a very long time and definitely think this is a more advanced pattern. I struggled at first with the technique, but stuck with it and was able to be quite confident going forward. Thank you for creating such a beautiful afghan. I appreciate the video. I could never have done it without it.
Good day from Slovakia.. I really love your crochet.. Iam ,beginner.. But when I watching your crochet I completely can crochet with you Thank u for all video
That's wonderful Samar! This is exactly why I encourage confident beginners like you to jump in and give these stitches a try. Life is way too short to stick to boring crochet, right? If you don't mind making mistakes here and there (we all do), it can be so much more fun to learn something new!
You are a truly amazing teacher, great clarity both vocally and visually. I haven't attempted the throw yet, l watched it first and will be attempting it soon. An absolutely beautiful project. Thank you.
This is an absolutely beautiful blanket! I love the look of cables. I’m so glad I came across your channel - love your designs. I love this beautiful blanket! Could you please tell me what the multiples would be if I wanted to make it wider than the 42”?
You would add multiples of 24 to the starting chain.
@@BonnieBayCrochet
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! Do you know how many inches each set of 24 chains would add to the width?
@@donnagray3935 that really would depend upon the yarn and your personal gauge for this project.

On a Mac and there is no way I can find to change the speed. Need help on the second row where you start the ribbing.
How Can I Enlarge This Blanket Into A King Size??
How Many More Stitches Is Required To Do So.. This Is Such A Beautiful Throw.
That really all depends on how much of the throw and what sections you will be repeating Angelin. That will require a bit of math and redesigning.
Can you make this in a 80x 90 size
I'm afraid that would require a redesign. You can make this longer by continuing in pattern stitch.
Bonnie, did you come up with this pattern or is it one you use many times?
This is one of my original designs.
Hi Bonnie, I bought a book of yours from Leisure Arts called Cabled Baby Blankets. Do you have a tutorial for those? I’m having trouble with “Aran Appeal.”
