Year 1984-1988 the times and years when I stayed in the PMA.
Before the day in my first day in PMA, My father ordered me to do 200 push ups so He can test my strength as a cadet. My father graduated from PMA also. After my Graduation I scream very very loudly because It feels like heaven when you pass the 4 years training in the academy. Now I'm Officially retired and I'm Very thankful to our god who gived me strength in my 1st year in PMA

As an American soldier and a former Philippine Army soldier, also a Law Enforcement officer my great advices are:
1.) Avoid creating unwanted attention. 2.) Observe everything around. 3.) Be a team player. 4.) Don't quit / Never give up.

Ang pagnanais magsilbi sa Bayan ay di dapat mabawasan kahit Anu man pagsubok, dapat lalo pang magsidhi at magaalimpuyo....!!! Wala ka dapat kinatatakutan kahit kamatayan. Sa tunay na Laban Ang mga duwag astras at tatakbo pag balitang paratinng palang palang Ang kalaban at pagsubok.

Leadership is the ability to influence others by providing Purpose, Motivation, and Direction in order to accomplish the mission and IMPROVE THE ORGANIZATION. This last part is where PMAers and All Military Officers fail. They may accomplish their mission (as they are obligated to) but no "real" improvement to the AFP has ever been achieved. Puro changes lang from one commander to another (parang cha-cha lang, one step forward one step back. worse is sometimes one step forward-two steps back pa ang nagyayari). As these Officers are imbued with the skills, weapons and authority over others, the most important aspect that is expected of them is that they be leaders of PROPER CHARACTER. If we cannot imbue proper character, maybe we are creating more problems

@@mgtowphilippines8164 May "Honor Code and Honor System" nga sila but does it really develop their sense of Honor? How do you teach "Honor" ba? When is it supposedly practiced? During cadetship lang ba? I heard of one instance recently that a 1st year female cadet stole grapes owned by an upperclass which was placed in a refrigirator. Now, the same female cadet is already a graduating cadet in may 2023. Allegedly, the ruling of the Honor Committee was for her to resign as she was found guilty but the administration of PMA overturned the decision (may tumawag daw kase na high ranking person in the Department of National Defense asking the Administration of PMA not to approve the "Force resignation"). Allegedly the same female cadet had other "Honor Code Violations" but were just dropped due to some "mysterious" reasons. I was just wondering what if hindi nlang "just grapes" ang nai-offer sa kanya kung sya na eh Officer na sa AFP, hindi kaya magiging parang MGen Garcia (Ret) na yan??
If indeed the cadets have "Honor" as developed by their Honor System, bakit hanggang ngaun (3years na), wala pang convicted sa pagkakamatay ni Cadet Dormitorio? Kung merong honor talaga ang mga kadete, meron na sanang umamin na sya ang nakapatay ke Dormitorio. At least yan ang opinion ko sa matter jan sa Honor System.
The People expect that when these cadets will be imbued with "authority" (according to their ranks as officers) their decisions will be tempered not just by knowledge, skills, and attitudes as AFP officers but also by the "character" that was developed.

When one reach their 4th year some are power tripping as a result of their experience since 1st year

Kasi po tinuturuan dw sila maging leader, maging abusadong lider. Anong klaseng principle of teaching kaya yng potainang yng. Kaya abusado kpg nsa labas na.
As a firstclassman in our school syatem or fourth year in your term, we don't power trip, because we are focused on our academics. We leave the handling of the plebes to our thirdclassmen. Don't use the word power tripping if you haven't experienced being a plebe or cadet. All hardships that we had there in the academy ay may purpose and only military person knows.

What kind of culture is this,shouting while eating.Its like hell.I have been to a swiss military camp.Trainees are fed well,relaxed while eating,no physical contact in their training(hazing) and yet they are one of the best disciplined military organization in the world.But Phil.Military Camps had produced corrupt and most undiscipline officers.

Ni like ko yung video kahit hindi ko type yung ginagawa nila. Na realize ko na di pala mahirap tong mga ginagawa ko ngayon kumpara sa buhay na nararanasan nila jan. Natutunan ko lang na dapat disiplanado tayo sa sarili natin kahit walang nag oorder sa atin at kahit na walang mga upperclassman na sumisigaw sa atin. Pero sana ma iimbestigahan yung mga nag hahazing jan sa loob at kung anu ano pang mga di karapatdapat na nangyayari jan.

Sobrang OA sa PMA. Sa ibang bansa di ganyan mga training. Tignan nyo mas marami pa silang pinapanalo na gyera. Dito dapat malakas ka sumigaw para kuno cool tapos dapat pag upperclass ka pasikat ka. I agree this culture is wrong but most of military academies in the world are like this.. Even worse.. The difference is how they cover up the abuse. Try watching the BBC doc.. This happens but this time the cover up isn't successful.
Check south korea's training for enlistments and compare it to ph's.

Kakamiss hehe.. naging parte po ako ng class of 2011 Laon. But due to academic deficiency i failed to make the grade i left the academy on my junior year. Still proud to have been part of the cadet corps at del pilar sa mga mistah ko mabuhay kayo!

Hindi na po ganon kahirap sa loob ng pma. Hindi katulad ng dati..simula ng nawala na ang hazing year 2019.. But still mahirap pa din ang acads kaya mag aaral tlaga mabuti.

then, your dad was was wrong. na sa tao yan paano nya maitataguyod ang kanyang buhay, kung masipag o madiskarte ka maaaring gumanda buhay mo. Wala sa ayos ng gamit ang kapakanan ng isang tao, kung masipag at madiskarte ka sa buhay sugaradong mag ta-tagumpay ka.

ang mga opisyal ng pulis ay mga pma gradutes na una sila na assign sa former philippine constabulary(now dissolved) and majority of them are now regional officers or head of agencies or retired kaya impossible sila ay serving member ng SAF majority ng SAF ay new police officers and PNPA graduates, the only pma graduetes of SAF are commanding officers, after reading the list of the 44, majority of them are graduates of the PNPA(Philippine national police academy) not PMA
I dont know why discipline should come from a undescent emotional torture. Once when everybody starts to practice respecting each other there is discipline comes in. You doubt to commit undesscent act if someone shows you respect. But seniority is never been an answer to produce someone as a better part of the society but a sarcastic dominant attitude person is what they are going to be. Ive been into a semi military training almost the same as what they are conducting but what i see with those people in the higher level than me is that, it is not the descipline that has been develope into them but a authoritic person who forgets how to respect because they owned a rank!

Dating PMA cadet kuya ko, kaso di siya nakatapos kasi naalis siya dahil sobrang higpit, pero ok lang engineer na siya ngayon, at pag nadadaan kami sa mess hall ang ingay talaga rinig na rinig namin mula sa labas yung sigawan.

You have to understand the history of the PMA. General Douglas McArthur who was a Westpoint Alumni and former Superintendent of the USMA. was the prime advisor of the the creation of the PMA and it is very similar to the United Sates Military Academy. PMA is probably one of the best Acadamies outside the United States. A lot of traditions are comparable to USMA.

It actually was the easiest entrance exam i took for a college/university/academy. No, you do not need to review. Get a good rest because the test areas will be packed with thousands of applicants, the pressure will get you, all you have to do is focus. Your grades from junior and senior high school, i beg to believe, will also have something to do to your acceptance.

Marami na palang PMA'r na babae suma cumlaude pa pero bakit hanggang ngayon wala pa akong nakitang nagkamit bg rank na GENERAL or position na mataas tulad ng chief of staff, PMA superintendent, xhief of pilice or head ng alin sa mfa 4 pillars ng AFP.
Paninigaw sa isang tao ay hindi makakatulong para makapagdesisyon s’ya kapag nagkakagulo na lalo lang magugulo isip nun. Grabe yung training nakakamatay na!

Knowing of having death incident from this Academy like the case of Sir Darwin Dormitorio, nakakabawas yun ng tiwala😣 kasi we're expecting na despite of those struggles (kasama sa self-discipline) there must have a safe and secured environment too. Nakakalungkot lang. More and strict monitoring lang po especially for different unjustify practices. ✋

@@mannythegoat4463 Isipin mo din na ang nag recruit sa mga kadete e ang PMA, kaya ipinagkatiwala ng mga magulang ang buhay ng kanilang anak para i-develop para maging isang matino at karapatdapat na opisyal na maglilingkod sa bayan. Kaya the Institution should be held largely more responsible for the death of Cadet Dormitorio Before the start of the training cycle, the institution should have made sure that all measures concerning the safety of all cadets were properly met before the new cadets arrived. That way if something untowards occurred safety nets are already in place as redundancies. Kaso, the training unit in charge of the Cadet Training already requested for additional personnel as the trainor-cadet ratio is already two low, but the Institution Ignored the request so the rest is history. Dormitorio was mauled in a room, screaming in pain as he was kicked again and again on the floor even in fetal position, all the while no Firstclass even bothered to look into what was happening

PMA po ay my military and academic. During first class every cadet first class will received their diploma in bachelor of science degree as well as 2LT. Ung rank and they will assign on their prospective unit kung anu pinili nila. Army,navy, or airforce.
Nag apply ako sa USMA(West Point), USAFA, at USNA. First Pilipino immigrant US general jk....sa ngayon myembro ako nang AFJROTC sa HS ditto sa California. ;)

Ang pagpasok sa academy ay di pagpapauto.Ang pumapasok at nakakapasok rito ay angmga taong may pangarap sa buhay, pangarap na makatulong sa pamilya at sa bayan.Yong nangangarap na mangulimbat ng pera yan yong mga taong di nakakapasok kasi may madilim na budhi.Ang dami na nga yatang mga walang pusong nagkocomment rito na puro kasamaan at kasakiman lang pinagsasabi. May mga kilala akong graduate ng PMA at sila ang mga tapat at may busilak na mga taong nakilala. For that I am hoping my kids will be one of the PMA graduates in the future.

yes thats a problem right now in the Academy. Pag ikaw e anak or at least kamag anak ng isang alumnus, you are afforded more leaway from violations (mas nagkakaroon ka ng pagkakataong mapagbigyang makalusot sa violations of regulations). kung ikaw e anak lang ng magsasaka or any ordinaryong tao, napaka-istrikto ng Regulations para syo. sabagay i remember may nagsabi sakin na sa PMA daw "All cadets are treated equally, but some cadets are more equal than others"

Sana mandatory na sa lahat ng boys and girls mula 18 years old for serving the military in the country. Minimum of 4 years of service. Yung gustong lumabas to change courses pwede after 4 years in service.

Ang bababaw pala mag isip ng mga walang alam tungkol sa military... lahat po ng ginagawa ng PMA ay may dahilan... may history din po kung bakit ganyan ang training nila... hindi po waste of time ang mga yan... it's hard to think na habang naghihirap mag training ang ating mga sundalo is nandito lng kayong jinujudge ang pagdidisiplina sa kanila... at kung makapag comment parang alam na alam ang paano ba dapat mamuhay ang isang tao... ito po ay para lamang sa mga hindi naiintindihan kung papaano mag PMA thanks...
