We visited Ice Alaska Ice Park too! A volunteer-driven tradition of Ice Sculpting was founded in April 1990. The tradition began with the early celebrations of spring involving Ice Thrones for the Winter Carnivals of the 1930s. It is powered by over 90 committees, an eleven-member board of directors, and over 300 volunteers. Their annual event hosts over 100 ice artists, representing 9 countries and, many states of the United States.
