When Autumn got out of the pool and said “thank you” to her instructor, I can’t tell you how big I smiled. Not only did she complete the prompt (with little objection) but it seemed like she meant it! Like, she was actually thankful for her instructor, in that moment... 🧠🎉

She’s mostly nonverbal but she knows sign language and she uses an aac device that helps her tell us what she wants.
