I absolutely ADORE San Diego & Cali in general and really want to live there one day! Had no idea this was your hometown :) I made a video tribute to this place a few times because we kept going back at least once a year. We went kayak surfing near La Jolla on our first trip there and I think between that and hiking Torrey Pines, idk if I could choose a favorite experience. Love the video!!
I tend to hear that a lot from locals. Me as a transplant. I always find it odd how you could live so close to the beach and never take advantage of it. I know ppl in Long Beach that haven’t been to the beach in years... in years. It blows my mind. Then when they move you ask them what they miss most and it always, the beach. 🤦🏽♂️

This video is so good I just loved it, loved it, loved it. Well done! Video is so professional, how can Christine get any better than this? My friends find all of her videos very helpful.
Also I would recommend Windansea beach. On a sunny day, the water is just as clear as the water in Hawaii. It is very beautiful. But I see why it isn’t in this video, it isn’t really a tourist destination. Great video
A really great walk is to go from La Jolla, through Windansea, and finish up in Bird Rock for a coffee. Or start at Windansea and head down to Mission Beach and go bar hopping.
We have a townhome there across from Whole Foods by UCSD as a part time get away from the Az. heat. Been there for years and years and haven’t been to most of your suggestions. Great video. Thanks for sharing!! Dukes is awesome. We were there the first night it opened. Totally cool! Oh, and folks MUST have dinner at the Marine Room!!!
I lived in La Jolla for eight years while studying there (including a class at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in La Jolla). Don't forget to visit the beautiful Salk Institute - the building is amazing. For a small fee, you can visit the Cave under the La Jolla Shell Shop, which amazes people that it even exists, and has a fascinating history. For a view of all of La Jolla, drive up to Mount Soledad. The vistas there will take your breath away! And having a drink or dinner at The Marine Room is the closest to the ocean you can get. During high tide, the waves smack against the huge windows there inches away from your table.
these are such SOLID TIPS! YESSS! Thanks so much for watching my video and taking the time to leave a comment! It means a lot!! I love it when people provide super helpful tips 🥳
Even though she says you can get up close and personal with the seals, please everyone remember to keep a 5 foot distance away from them. You don't want to scare a baby seal away from it's mother.
Visiting tomorrow! THANK YOU sooo much for this video!! I’m driving from Santa Monica (visiting from Georgia) ...Google maps says there are tolls on my route to San Diego..and I have no clue about how/where to pay. Smh
Awesome! Safe driving today! The tolls roads are optional, depending on how bad traffic is (which right now with COVID, less people are on the road) it may or may not make sense to take them
Beautiful city, my uncle lived there for a while and said the weather is perfect. Having said that, you couldn’t pay me to kayak there, there’s been a couple great white fatalities around there. I wouldn’t do it here in Massachusetts either.
Vicious Cycle sharks are always around it’s true! i was fascinated to read stats on shark attacks tho. do you know how many there are per year in the usa? it averages around 40 attacks. and 50% are where i spend a lot of time (in florida). and there have only been a couple fatalities in the last several years. i know right?! i thought it’d be more!! 😮
Russell Cochran welcome to SD! i think if you have 16,839,657,589,000 hours yes i can give you a couple tips. there is SO MUCH to do in sd! what exactly are you looking for tho?
Russell Cochran I would definitely say the things that I suggested in La Jolla or a good option because many of them are social distancing options. I just flew in today, and I’m starting my next video covering San Diego [if you’re able to stay tuned and wait for that]… Otherwise if you love the outdoors I will go to the beach, hike, and just enjoy the beautiful views. In terms of traveling at this point in time, I would be more cautious about things like trying to dine in at fine dining restaurants, or see performances… Anything that might be canceled at this point. I’ve created the itinerary for my current trip around social distancing activities and then check ahead to make sure things are open!
Hey. nice work on the video. How is the security like in this place? Do join us on our travels too. We love making videos of wonderful places in Singapore and the region.
ohhhh dang. this is 💯% accurate. i went to a cafe nearby and i realized... i couldn't do it. HAHHA! it's so true! thank you for adding this helpful comment!
The last time I was in La Jolla, there was a small, very brave/foolish group of men cliff diving illegally. They were awesome! They also successfully escaped arrest. What a day!

Christine Lozada I live in Irvine, and I want to make it a little day trip to go down there. Mostly what to see in a day if the places are open.

They finally took the rope down at children's pool I see . Seals are safer to approach when in the water , on land they get defensive pretty quick .
Ooooh you're an expert in the place! I LIKE IT!!!!
How is San Diego in February?
