The Brew-Q I will quit bugging ya after this one, but I bought my Acorn from Lowe’s on sell for $479.20. I never thought I would snag a full ceramic at that price. Even the regular price of $599 sounded pretty good to me. Take care man!
That is probably the only one I have not done. Here in Cape Breton, N.S Canada, we don't get to see this cut in our grocery store. This is my third summer with the Acorn! 👍 Absolutely love it. ✌
Hey, how's your Akorn Ceramic holding up after a few years? Considering stepping up to the Akorn Ceramic from an Akorn Char-griller which was graphite. $300 bucks from Lowes, and after 5 years it needs to be put to pasture. I like the price point on the Akorn Ceramic at $649, which is almost half the price from Kamado Joe or Green Egg.
The ceramic model is going strong. Still as solid as the day I got it. I keep the cast iron grates oiled and that prevents any rust but the rest of the grill is nicely seasoned up and has been goin good for the past 3 years. I highly recommend it. You may be able to find it cheaper at select Lowes locations. The Char-Griller site has it priced a bit higher than retail locations. If you can find one, snag one! You can use the steel AKORN’s smoking stone is designed to work with the full ceramic model also. Cheers!
Man that looks great! Decisions decisions on a new grill! Acorn, Komado Joe, WoodWind SG, Trager.. I usually cook on a Weber Performer but need to upgrade.
how long did it take for your grill to get from your smoking temp to your grilling temp? I am still unsure of what type of grill to get whether a Weber Kettle or an akorn. Split.
Not very long, I believe maybe 10 minutes since the hot coal bed was well established. The AKORN will be better for smoking setups since you typically never have to add any more fuel after setup. You can smoke up to 18 hours without having to mess with any adding of wood or coal. You will have to babysit a Weber and periodically add fuel but you can smoke some good food on a Weber as well.
I just did a 5 lb Chuck roast on my kamander!! Came out GREAT!!! I'm looking forward to a tri tip on mine next,I did 1 mistake....I actually snuffed out my fire, couldn't believe it!! Had to add another tumble weed n it started back fine..first time that happened ,it's so hot here in Florida I made a boo boo!!! My meat was at 131 degrees when it happened ,I got it right back up in no time ,took it to 165 , wrapped it n took it to 200 .came out perfectly!! I learned a lot watching your vids in the original akorn, only reason Igot the kamander was the price 266$ on sale. Keep on grilling Bud!! U got a few grills to exhibit!!! Where to get the chargriller spice's?? TTYL
As far as I know, currently the rubs are only available to order online. That may change later as these just came out. Yessir! Grilling choices for sure. Cheers! Here's where you can order them www.chargriller.com/collections/accessories?constraint=rubs&sort_by=price-ascending
Looks like a beautiful piece of meat! I plan to do a rack of ribs for the first time next weekend. lol. I'll watch some of your rib vids again for hints and tips. I need those tumbleweed starters! I've never seen those. Man that looks nice! Looks perfect and delicious!
It was very delicious! Heck yeah! Slow cook those ribs at 225 degrees on the smoker and they are worth it! The tumbleweed starters can be found at Lowe's.
Looks killer man thanks for the vid
You're welcome!
I Subscribed INSTANTLY when you started to dance after tasting the meat…I DO THE SAME THING! Off to get this tri-tip goin.
Sometimes you gotta dance for it! Haha! Cheers!
I just bought a Char Griller Ceramic and have come across your videos. Love them and can’t wait to learn some new grilling items!!!
I absolutely love my ceramic AKORN. It’s built so well and grills and smokes incredibly well. I’ll be doing a thanksgiving turkey video soon :)
The Brew-Q, can’t wait to see it. I followed your seasoning video today in prepping to get it ready for the first time here shortly.
Thanks for the sub! Cheers!

That’s a FANTASTIC price. I feel the ceramic AKORN is Char-Griller’s best built grill of all time. Awesome that you got it for that price!
Wow glad I found this vid in a TH-cam search. Lots of great information. Thank you...looks delicious!

Great looking food. I'm inspired.

I had to watch it again. Great job on the tutorial once again. 👍👍 Thanks for sharing. ✌
No problem. It is a yummy quick cook if you want something smoked and seared for sure. Great piece to make for dinner during the week. Cheers!
Hey Mr. Q!
That was a hell of a great looking Tri man!

Its an awesome versatile cooker. If you can find one, jump on it and put your favorite beef rub on it. Cheers!
Great looking cut of beef there! Love the cutting an prep tips. Cheers!
Give it a try! You won't regret it for sure. Cheers!
You should have kept the fat on. We pay extra for untrimmed tri-tip just to have some fat on it.

Looks delish!
It was tasty af :D
Nicely done! Lookin good!
Thanks! Gotta do another one 😬. Cheers!
how do you clean your grill grates after a messy cook like ribs or pork butt ?
Well, I’ve been using the wooden grate scraper lately but I usually have used a wire brush on the cast iron grates while they are really hot.
Looks amazing as usual. Now you're getting *sear* ious! See what I did there?
I had to watch it again. I gotta try this for sure.👍 Great job once again. Thanks. Cheers
haha! I see what you did there. Thanks, bro! Get some cooks in before it gets too cold again.
Looked a bit tough to me.
Not at all. It was pretty tender! Haven’t cooked any in quite a while but might test it out again on a new grill I’m about to debut on here. Cheers!
How long did you have to smoke it to reach temp?
Not long, maybe 40 minutes or so?

I did some ribs on it and will have the video posted later this week. Turned out great!
