I'm so excited to show you this footage! The owners of this property in France, move the cameras around in their beautiful forest and collect the footage for me ❤ They did a wonderful job. I'm so in love with the red fox at the beginning of this video 🦊 I think foxes are the prettiest of all woodland animals, and they've captured it perfectly.
Although raccoons are considered an invasive exotic species, I do enjoy seeing them on camera. 🦝 A new generation is roaming the woods. The little creek down the hill is perfect for them.
A new and very cool capture in this video is the tawny owl! 🦉 What a lucky catch! Do you recognize all other birds in this video?
And the badgers are so active this year! 🦡 I remember hoping to get my hands on some badger footage some day. But when they appeared, they kept coming! They are the largest marten species here.
Speaking about marten species. We also see beech marten and pine marten in this video. Troubles telling them apart? I have a video that explains how you can see the difference: • How to tell different ...
Once again, special thanks to the owners of this property who let me bother them with my obsession! 😅

@@once_upon_a_forest Canada has a lot of wildlife and forest land. I live in Ottawa, Ontario which is the nations capital and my cameras are only a 15 minute drive away. This is only my second year using trail cameras. Here is a link to my first year compilation video. Hope you will like and subscribe? th-cam.com/video/cuFI6nlotrE/w-d-xo.html

Hello Suus, and what fabulous footage. What a wonderful wide diversity of wildlife in these spots. The Red Fox at the beginning on the fallen tree was just absolutely gorgeous... very beautiful. And it was a pleasure seeing both Beech and Pine Marens in this video. I really am fond of so much of your wildlife and the wildlife you capture here in Fance. And yes, they did a fabulous job placing your camera... location, composition, etc.
I'm in love with your Great Spotted Woodpeckers, I get excited every time I see one in your videos. You Eurasian Jays are so beautiful and, in many ways, very much like our Blue Jays. Your Tawny Owl is very comparable to our Barred Owls in ways.
Generally speaking, invasive species are a danger to most ecosystems, often greatly upsetting ecosystems. However, I believe in this case the Raccoon will end up being a benefit all things considered. They should not be a direct threat to indigenous species, and they should be no more of a threat to ground birds then Red Foxes and Martens are... even though they added to pressure on them but being that the Raccoon has such a wide and diverse diet, they don't usual have a primary or stable food, they enjoy moving on to different food items even when an abundance of a particular prey or food items is available. Time will tell though. I pray I'm correct.
It was a treat getting to see these beautiful Badgers! I used to see them back home in South Dakota, and when we moved to the U.K., we had them on our property in Meysey Hampton England. Generally speaking, the Eruopean Badgers are so much less aggressive than our Badgers in South Dakota, which were very aggressive and sometime darn mean. I you, or a form of wildlife got too close to their dens, they'd attack. That said, when threated, the Eruopean Badgers are just as dangerous.
Thank you Suus, you're such an asset to our birds and wildlife. Blessing my friend.
    Best wishes,
    George

Thank you so much George, as always, for your kind words 😊 I'm very glad with the badger footage since we don't have these in our own little forest in Belgium. They look like they come straight from out a children's story, soo fairytale-like with the white stripes on the head.
The raccoons are taking over haha. So far I haven't heard anyone saying that they've really proved to be so bad for the local species. Only about going through peoples garbage. I guess that's more of an 'us' problem, than a 'them' problem.
Have a wonderful weekend George! Best wishes

@@once_upon_a_forest Absolutely correct Suus, I believe most Europeans just like many Americans look at the raccoons as being a problem for them rather than the environment. They are highly intelligent and are quite opportunistic… so yes they’ll take advantage of human waste.
Just like all wildlife we humans have to accept them for what they are, and they are simply doing what the need to do to survive. If need be they can take measures to protect their garbage.
And agree with you, the badgers are as if the came out of the pages of a fairytale. But then again that’s how I often see all the wildlife you present in your videos. I believe I have stated that several times. It’s the way you capture them and present them. I could not admire you more for it.
      You’re awesome Suus !!! 😉
