- Käärijä kertoi tunnelmistaan huikean jännittävän Euroviisufinaalin jälkeen.
- Täytyy olla ylpeä tähän suoritukseen. Aika makea suoritus suomenkielisellä biisillä. On vähän surullinen fiilis, mutta elämä jatkuu. Ei tämä ole niin vakavaa.
Käärijä teki viisuissa historiaa, sillä suomenkielinen kappale ei ole koskaan sijoittunut näin korkealle kilpailussa.
Vuoden 2023 Euroviisujen finaali järjestettiin lauantaina 13. toukokuuta Iso-Britannian Liverpoolissa.

kääriä: well champaigne was poured on me and.. and i just wanted to thank everyone that has been with me in this thing (project).. it was definitely not just me but the whole team was with me in this... and also must thank all the outsiders, finnish and foreigners who have been keeping up the käärijä hype and other stuff... so i am very grateful for all of this.. and i'll have to spend a while trying to comprehend all thats happened because .. i'll have to admit that i'm a (very) bad loser and maybbe tomorrow. so maybe i'll live in a better understanding of all of this tomorrow
interviewers:: how does it feel that the jury had such a big impact in the results?
käärijä:: well rules are rules, we'll go with what we've got and complaining wouldn't really help in this anymore.. the rules are what they are and that's it.. of course i'm a little upset but this is the spirit of the game, congratulations to loreen i wish her well she is a great person i love lorreen and congratulations to her..
interviewers: how did it feel like to listen to the crowd shouting "cha cha cha" and käärijä and it seemed like the crowd really wanted you to win the contest?
käärijä: well of course it feels good. but it isnt enough to make you not feel bad for not winning,, as i had told you , the media and everyone here, all my friends and family that i am going to win this and i'm a little disappointed as i didnt then make it. but life goes on
interviewer: how will you spend the night ?
käärijä: i dont know i want to go see my little brother i want to go to my father and uh you know i want to be with them and with the best of my friends and i want to share this with them and i dont know.. i just want to hug them and tell them i love them
interviewer: what would you want to say to the finnish people that have been cheering for you toniht
käärikä: i really am like-... don't have any words.... -- i'm completely totally thankful for everything the people of finland has given to me and i cannot fully comprehend all that's happened.. i'm just a normal guy from vantaa (a city in finland, in the helsinki metropolitan area) who has come to the eurovision and i don't really see myself as a more special person than anyone else i've met... we are all people and it is in a way really cool that people have been so excited about this all and idk... im really thankful and hope to see all these people at the marketplace if there is going to be one (torikokous, "marketplace meetiing" is an event where finnish people gather at market squares in helsinki to celebrate recent international in sports and otherwise... started when finland beat sweden winning the ice hockey championship and people then went to the marketplace naked swimming in the fountains ...) and i'm very grateful for everything

Quick translation of some main points: He says he is a sore loser, of course everyone says nice words but words are words and he's disappointed he lost. However, he gives praise to Loreen, because she is a "wonderful person" per his own words. They then ask what he wants to do next and he says he wants to be with his little brother and big brother and family and good friends and hug them and rest a little.
They talk about him already being a Eurovision Legend, and this is where he perks up a bit and starts to smile more. He has made good friends and had a very good experience, and the end of it a title is a title, but if he can be considered a Eurovision Legend at some point, or even now, he will happily rise to it. They then ask, since many Legends who have not won sometimes return, would Käärijä return for example in the role Verka has returned in? And Käärijä says he wants to thank and repay everyone who backed him and if the timing is right and everything permits, he would return and "give what he is able to give".
And then finally, "How would you describe this evening's experience?" "Sick." (Sairas in Finnish can be used both good and bad and also to mean like, "crazy" so he's saying pretty much like, "Insane" imo.)
"What will you do when you arrive home?" He says he just wants to go home, stare at a wall and think "what has happened the past six months wow", he can't even begin to get a grip on all the things that happened to this "small man" and he is so unbelieveably thankful for everything, for all the people who have undertaken all this work with him. But he guesses he will go to sleep under his Formula One rally sheets. (Race car sheets, Formula 1 racing is very popular in Finland. He jokes about packing these in his "What Will Käärijä Pack For Liverpool" video on the UMK channel.) He has shows/concerts he will start in June. :)
This isn't everything, he says a lot of great stuff and this isn't word-for-word, I took some liberties, but basically he is majorly disappointed but so thankful and by the end he seems to open up a little and start smiling and seem hopeful and thankful. Finland is so proud of him and we love him dearly. I hope he returns, even if we could win again, I think if it wasn't Käärijä, it would feel bittersweet, because he has truly been our Rocky in the ring, and we want to see him go to K.O. (in my personal opinion.)

A: Honestly, I am feeling a little sad, because what I came here for was the win. Of course I must be proud of this result, it’s quite a sweet/cool result for a Finnish language song. Of course I feel slightly upset but life goes on and it’s not that serious, let’s keep on living life.

A: Of course it felt good, but in the moment when you realize that you are not going to win, even that doesn’t completely relieve the [bad] feeling. I told everyone - the media, all of my friends and family, that I’m going to win. And then I didn’t so I am a little disappointed. But life goes on.
