I agree with Xavier Dolan. This movie reminded me of my past, of the time when I was in love with love instead of loving a person. Also, there is this subtle humour and this bittersweet irony which are very plesant. I loved the end, I loved the rejections scenes, I loved the fact that we never really know what "that" Nicolas thinks. This movie is"real"and beautiful. I'm waiting for the next I love Louis Garrel.
He's good at what he does but he's... young. I find his stuff very pleasing to watch/experience aesthetically and I'm really looking forward to the way he'll learn to develop his characters more deeply in the future.
yea, this guy will be a great quebec filmmaker but it's self evident that his films will always carry the same undetones, and they're so pretentious. he is a very good story teller don't get me wrong, but he'll always be a niche filmmaker. which is perfect, because he likes it that way
At 2:40, Dolan makes it clear that he's been asked that question too often ("What are you influences ?"), etc. and watch that moron interviewer start squirming in his seat as he realizes how bad he is and how this young director has just exposed him as an inane interviewer ! too funny !
What was that crap the interviewer said upfront about being more emotionally authentic because he's young? Give me a break. More emotionally immature maybe. Definitely pretentious.
"Fuck no, people come to me crying" Love Xavier
He's so cute.
