I love how Rowan effectively changed what colored shirts managers and workers are supposed to wear because he felt self-conscious about how he looked. Lol
Wait if black shirts have more power then that was when the employees were in power where if they were in toxic environments they can strike but Rowan came in and took the black shirt and replaced it with his red shirt giving him the power. He controls the paycheck and he has union busting ways making him a power hungry man. It’s possible that the black shirt corrupted him
I think one of my favorite continuities is Rowan's fear of women, culminating in the skit "the hot chick" with him ending up near comatose on the floor, down to the detail of not realizing she was making a pass at him by asking for his number, which was subtle but a nice touch, which showed he was still actually clueless.
Dude... That was totally me until last year. Then my current girlfriend basically grabbed me by the ear, smacked me silly, and told me no more excuses.
Rowan was so friendly and nice in these early episodes! Up until his mind began to gradually break apart, shedding one strand of sanity at a time, and spiraling into the abyss of madness!

@@UnivSoldier He was possessed by the ghost of Rodney, if you re-watch the first dozen or so you will see Rowan disappears and is only normal for the short time Rodney is back around. That's why he lost all tech skills and can bring people back to life.
The series are very much about Rowan's character development. In the beginning he was very awkward and got abused by Alan. Then he grew more of a spine, but overdid it, becoming cruel and pushing his one friend away. For a moment he seemed to even mourn the friendship (when he wasn't invited for drinks), but seems to have gone past it. Then after being abused by Rowan his employees also occasionally show violent tendencies (white shirt, Christmas music). There's almost a moral to it about how to treat others. :D
Rowan's concise, bullet-proof debate points in the stock room/bathroom mirror, which completely abandon him in real conversation with Alan, is a brilliant running bit. So relatable.

@@definitelynotat-rex72 I discovered this too. After they go to the new store and meet Rodney, there's a switch off where Rowan slacks off and Rodney takes his place. After a while, he starts getting good, learning on the job, and when Rowan gets jealous, he tries to kill Rodney. The ending scene is where Rodney appears in the back of the car, and Rowan screams. The very next episode, they "repeat" episode 1 and some of the earlier episodes in the new store, however his hair stays long and curly, like Rodney's, and from that point on, you never see Rodney again. Where did he go? Why did Rowan scream? Also, After that event, Rowan starts turning more evil, as you can see from the plotting of hiring new people. Further evidence, we know that Rodney is supposed to be a ghost of sorts that can materialize into a physical body at will. We see this ability demonstrated when he just appears in front of characters out of nowhere. In the Cookie Monster episode "Rowan" is seen to have this very ability, whenever Alan turns off the lights, he is able to appear and disappear in an instant, right before our eyes. tl;dr Rodney killed Rowan in his car, devoured his soul, and "became" Rowan, but more evil.
@@MichaelMilord But Rodney was really good at the job and Rowan wasn't - and after the car-incident, Rowan continued to be bad at the job. So either they switched back OR by devouring Rowan, Rodney took over Rowans bad traits...
@@MichaelMilord he didn't kill rowan but because he was wearing rowan's shirt he slowly started transforming to evil rowan and rowan slowly transformed to rodney because as we see in the white shirt saga the real rowan which is now rodney came back
No in boredception in the behind the scenes bit with the editor you can see a ring on rowan's finger and he doesn't have it in any other skits so is he married is he not I NEED ANSWERS
The thing is,at the end of this supercut we see him not as rowan, plus the whole golden shirt thing confirmed that rowan getting killed wasn't canon. Edit: I just realised the janitor is supposed to be a ghost. So rowan died, switched roles, and than appeared as the janitor in the golden shirt saga
I usually don't react to videos out loud, but Rowan standing in the office overlooking the absolute drama caused by hiring new people makes me emit the most evil, glass-shattering laugh.
I know, I know Rowan and Alan still ARE real friends, but still, I wish these bro comical videos would return. But lately I feel like all they do is remind me of bad company practices I've actually lived. And it all started with the Subway cookie.
Going back and watching these again, Rowan’s “start of darkness” was caused by a disagreement about Star Wars and that ate at him and he became worse and worse as a defense mechanism.
since when did being an a-hole stopped being a choice? stop simping around and start calling it like it is, this "oh, that poor person is struggling with his mental health, it's not his fault" rethoric is wearing thin.

Hm, interesting theory, though i tend to think that he was changed after when he was caught in the car with Rodney in the backseat. We never saw what happened after that was cut after all, and i believe that might've been when he broke, or at least started to.
I loved the part where Alan says, “The reason I look slimmer than you is because I’m slimmer than you.” And Rowan gives a perfect demonstration of the “oh no you didn’t” stance! 😂
I love it when something silly becomes contagious.. like forgetting how to speak or the shirt slimming thing... Love it.. plus.. all are good actors.. but Rowan is above acting wise love all of you guys
I was watching the video while working and I forgot to end the call. I started to laugh so badly and when I noticed, the voicemail was still running and I was like: "Oh ohhhh MASSIVE PAYCUT". 😂
Watching these in order makes me think that the more people working there the crazier Rowan gets from his utter lack of understanding on so many things. Adam disappearing and reappearing with his glasses, Alan literally teleporting, and the fact that he works with a female, to name some early ones
I was about to write a comment like „How are there so many skits missing?!“... After checking the discription im like „Holy cow 200 episodes?? Man this takes me back. I started watching when they literally created the channel and had like 2 or 3 videos. We were all so young back then.. i am so glad they've made it and are successful content creators. Rowan and Alan deserve it, as well as Adam. Even Ben deserves some credit as he was a big part early on in expanding the world building. Everyone else they're hired on has just made the channel better.and better as well.
it's actually not really a joke. It shows people what they should do when they are told the same thing. It's the same as Dora the explorer making a big deal on helmets and seatbelts for safety just so people remember it for the rest of their lives.

Its interesting how 2 years ago, Rowan was the one that was the most relatable and we followed throughout these skits, but slowly as time went on it became Alan, who originally was the secret monster of the store became the one we follow.
Poor Adam... Seeing where it all started is trippy AF coming from the latest episodes as my first introductions... Adam came in so confident, just to get terrified by Allen. Lmaoooo then it all goes where it does later
My favourite episode will forever be him wanging someone round the head with a golf club and whispering “no one plays game on an apple” while assuming he is a legit customer
Damn Rowan used to have so much more hair back then... Alan and Adam and Elie must have driven him insane to the point of losing hair. I feel so sorry for Rowan he definitely needs better employes that know how to do there job.
I love how at 1:10:41 they all literally became Baradun, Greg and Bodger. Rowan goes full on rage mode, Adam is completely oblivious and Allen comes running in out of no where with a golf club.
I've seen the "Hot Chick" Skit a dozen times and this is the first time I noticed Rowan say "I used to play league of legends, you might say I'm a bit of a Legend."
Its funny when Alan and Adam are thinking about fighting to keep their job because Alan has already killed 3 people before this moment. Adam should run

I love the commitment to the joke of keeping the shirt colors swapped after the give me the black shirt episode.
So we're all just going to pretend like Rowan is still Rowan and not actually the evil janitor that killed him in the parking lot

I usually don't react to videos out loud, but Rowan standing in the office overlooking the absolute drama caused by hiring new people makes me emit the most evil, glass-shattering laugh.
its weird coming back and watching this, at the start rowan and alan seemed like actual bros
yeah came to this after watching all recent stuff and was so confused.
I know, I know Rowan and Alan still ARE real friends, but still, I wish these bro comical videos would return. But lately I feel like all they do is remind me of bad company practices I've actually lived. And it all started with the Subway cookie.

Alan's catch phrase: "Can't keep running off! You're the manager!" Save himself some time & record that.
Alan has a better catchphrase... its "nod if you understand"
Alan says "Can't keep running off! You're the manager!" more often than he should have to. Like he is the parent of an overgrown child.
Its more creepy in Epic NPC Man
Seeing Alan in a black shirt and Rowan in a red shirt is so cursed
that cursed the easter egg of rowan disgusted at red shirt in the latest episode is understandable lol

It's cool meeting the cast as they're introduced.
The white shirt Saga is what broke Rowan, everything makes sense now.
I think he really started to break down and doll out pay cuts after the cookie incident,
Menace trilogy was the beginning.... white shirt broke him permanently
Lmao the first "1 on 1" Allen and Rowan interaction during the white shirt saga had me dying.
@@ndschau Cookie was his first time as the real asshole manager rowan. I mean Adam was his friend when he hired him with zac. nowadays Alan and Adam are friends and rowan is mostly the deeeck manager.
Hm, interesting theory, though i tend to think that he was changed after when he was caught in the car with Rodney in the backseat. We never saw what happened after that was cut after all, and i believe that might've been when he broke, or at least started to.
The Rowan, Rodney part has me cackling on the floor. Truly some hilarity, and good vibes. :)
I loved the part where Alan says, “The reason I look slimmer than you is because I’m slimmer than you.” And Rowan gives a perfect demonstration of the “oh no you didn’t” stance! 😂
and now i understand why rowan totally hated the red shirt in the new episode this year lol

I love it when something silly becomes contagious.. like forgetting how to speak or the shirt slimming thing... Love it.. plus.. all are good actors.. but Rowan is above acting wise love all of you guys
The story of the white shirt is by far the best.
I've heard even Peter Jackson made movies based on the story and J.R.R Tolkien wrote books about it.
In the end Scorsese got the rights. Got a couple of Oscars if I remember?
I am addicted to VLDL, I can't stop watching all their supercut. Replay everyday.
The part when Alan Screams "Rowan ur still the manager" still gets me.
I do kinda miss how Alan and Rowan actually used to be friends.
Man I forgot that Rowan was at one time, not completely evil
"Sellout" is still one of my favorites to this day. So subtle, but effective xD
I was confused by that one. Is the product bad?
I love Rowan's reaction to Ben being all entitled and trying to get him to open early. I felt that in my soul as a guy who opens in a restaurant.
Rodney's reaction*
I was watching the video while working and I forgot to end the call. I started to laugh so badly and when I noticed, the voicemail was still running and I was like: "Oh ohhhh MASSIVE PAYCUT". 😂

Only to be later terrorized by Rowan in Dark Souls.
