Having trouble spreading the glory of Rome? Hopefully these tips help! The game has pretty solid on-boarding, but I found some things weren't stressed enough, and other aspects had interesting tricks to them that might easily be missed. If you have any thoughts or tips of your own, feel free to share 'em! Enjoy!
could you maybe go alittle deeper into army exp ? how doest it work , bc i have seen ppl looseing 50 army exp in a battle even if they won .. is it tied to loosing x amount of men? i can understand the experience go down when you have to replenish wit hrecruits , but it should never go to 0 ... or is army exp something you deplete in another way ???
@@Galantus1964 In the start of game solider are young and legion is new , zero means that doesn't have enough to count as total strength , inexperienced solider is negative not neutral , and that is why exp numbers add like negative and positive . I just bought the game (it's downloading as I type) and this was all very good to know. I've watched a couple of let's play channels and this video explains things a lot more clearly than what I've seen of the tooltips alone.
For your archer, it is essential to get the BARRAGE skill (hunter, last line). With 2 archers in a group, you get 12 attacks (and more with other skills like quick shot) and the MARKSMAN skill (sniper). Two archers can easily decimate a group of enemies all by themselves. Best group : 2 tanks, 2 archers, 2 assassins (cheap shot, assassinate, sneak attack, marathon is very useful to get to a leader right from the beginning to lower the moral & the weapon attack One-Two-Three to resplenish Focus).
Thank you for acknowledging that a lot of these "10 things I wish I knew" stuff are usually already explained in the tutorial. But don't worry, your beginners guides are nothing like that :) I was able to jump into quite a few games thanks to your careful explanations. You're a peach and please never change
Excellent video PE! I started playing the game yesterday and even though I'm a veteran of all types of wargames and have played Expedition Vikings, I found myself really having to learn E:R's combat and tactic management. One thing I was very frustrated by was the game really doesn't elaborate on how to switch weapon sets or that going unarmed gives benefits like healing abilities during combat. The Q and E hotkeys are your friends!
I played and loved Expedition Vikings. But this one I returned, I felt the combat was unfair and punishing. And I have played a lot of CRPGs...this one is just too hard.
Very helpful overall guide with some tips, mostly on the turn based combat. I would very much appreciate also a in depth guide on the strategic battles and its parameters (I'm a little lost on the "army experience", because I can't understand what affects it to increase or decrease on the end of a battle)
Thank you for a great video. I saw the demo and played it over the weekend. I've now bought it as from what I have seen so far, this is going to be a great game. I can't wait to play the full version now, and your video has helped with the stuff I didn't know.
Looks really fun! I'm downloading the demo even as I watch this. I hope you decide to do a lets play at some point if you have time! Thanks for these tips vids!
Something that you could include potentially is that when you have ironman mode enables with perma death not sure if perma death makes a difference specifically or not but there's a quest where you talk to a giant cat while tripping on some drug. If you choose the door on the right you get a game over and it deletes the save. Fun.
I would really like an in depth video on how strategic battles work cause I don't feel like the game does a good job of really explaining what is going on there.
Welp 50 hours in I didn't know you can expand and see more clearly the timeline of upcoming events. Thanks One thing I believe you skipped over with consumable items, it is far easier and cost effective for most to get them through your speculatores tent and an assigned praetorian. Rather than repeatedly craft
Thanks for the nice video! I just picked up this game and have only played about 1h of it. It's great to have some "before you start" guide with every game, feels more reassuring you are not "wasting time doing the wrong shit" :) Would enjoy more indepth videos too, while waiting for my WH3 to unlock on steam :)
I'm an idiot. I've played the game for 10+ hrs and had no idea how action points worked. I just move and click and hoped for the best. Thanks for clearing it up!
Would love to know more about legion battles. Actually one question, I'm very early but should I be buying every single Praetorian I can money permitting? I got 4 extra ones, one of each class but was wondering if I should have gotten one of every subclass...
more details on the strategic layer would be nice indeed. I can't figure out how the leader influences the battle and also the numbers don't make perfect sense
Damn, I was spending my time put soldiers in Speculator Tent thinking this will replenish bandage, now thanks this video I know I have to build an armoury.
The best formation is, 3 tanks with hunker down bandage and water jar 1 healer , 2 Archer this formation will beat wave after wave in insane mode nonstop The bodies on the ground stack to sky high 😂 There is a secret Archer skill that is broken u can actually go 3 turn in a row and shot 3 arrow each 9 turn in one go it have an icons of 3 arrow sometime u just get one turn but sometime u get 3 turn
I don't think it was mentioned but what is the armour cap? I've recently gotten a few gear with that modifier but it doesn't increase my armour and hasn't done anything from my understanding.
Before you start??? Too late! Hehehe. Fortunately, have not made any key mistakes and this vid explained things that had puzzled me. Many thanks for the really good explanations.
Just play the game y'all... Remember when you were younger and games were more fun? Part of it is because you didn't watch videos on it and learn every little bit of information before it was ever on your screen... Maybe it's just me that feels this way but I don't think it is.
I can't equip my character with a sword and a dagger (for some reason I can't put the dagger into the off-hand, but only the main hand where my sword is). Why is that? Does it have to do with my character type (Triarius)?
Yes. Only the light melee fighter class can duel wield with a dagger. 1 class is X and shield, 1 is X and dagger, one gets bows, the other gets the big 2 handed weapons.
It isn't to do with the video but I think that the next series you should do is a forging Scandinavia series. It's a very unique kind of culture and I think that most eras have a scandinavian culture. Not sure if you have one in the pre-modern era. If not, can you please do some kind of forging series pls do one I really do I loved the forging india series so much.
why is it that enemy archers or NPC archer can target object/player even though they are hidden well is this a bug? bcoz there this mission(africa) ive save and friendly npc can hit this barrel but when i tried to stand on that position and try to shooting this barrel it is block wtf
You are shitting me, I'm already in Africa and I only just learned from your video that I had to dismantle the schematic to craft it... I always thought I need to upgrade to Armoury level 2 to access them.
I just attacked mysia with my legion and i'm baffled that i have to WAIT 5 HOURS for my legion to get there! are you kidding me i'm not paying for a game that makes me wait before i can play, if i wanted to wait i would be playing clash of clans or something. very dissapointed
Great video! You convinced me not to buy this game. In all seriousness, this was a great video which helped me see that I would not find this game enjoyable. After a long day at work, I do not want to use my free time keeping track of circles, squares, and diamonds in a game.

Much appreciated. The tips were very well explained. It gives me a great foundation to start playing the game with.
Thanks for the tips, played a hour so far felt a little overwhelmed this helped.

Excellent recap of important aspects of this game. Thank you.
Very good video! Kudos! I' d like to see more about the legions and strategy layer. Keep up the great work!
Thanks. This game is way more complicated as I thought - in a good way :)
I'm not italian but I can confirm I don't eat pineapple on pizza
Should be labelled a crime against humanity...
I have never been able to understand why anyone would put fruit on a pizza

Awesome and useful video. Great work!

just a mention... the game (as well as all this company's other games) are on sale on Steam right now.

Are you thinking about doing another banner Lord to roleplay if you do it will mean a lot to people and are interested in vlander next?
My God, this game looks incredible.

How do you grind like leveling up
Will you do a gameplay walkthrough on it??
hey, nice video. Love the game. Any idea on how to turn off autosave? Only thing I don't like about this game.

Hey what is your setup CPU GPU ?
I have around 35 hours in and I'm spending a lot of time trying to figure out somewhere to get linen in Asia Minor than I should be.
So it is basically same as "King Arthur's Knight's Tale", which I liked as well, but this seem to have better graphics with worse skill design.
Hey PE, I can't find "that key" on my keyboard 🤣
Hey I'm not color blind right? The armor bars are white ya?
I haven't been getting notifications of ur vedios?!?!. 😔 I have the bell and everything
Sounds like usual TH-cam troubles again =(
All well and good, but I'd like to see you play it. -.-
