Köln 1959 - Jahrmarkt des Lebens - Hermann Nick - Wirtschaftswunder

Hermann Nicks legendärer Film "Jahrmarkt des Lebens" in einer noch nie gezeigten langen Version aus der Sammlung der Kölner Filmerbe Stiftung. Neben den Szenen aus seinem eigenen Zusammenschnitt enthält diese Fassung auch viele Eindrücke, die er als Reste auf einer weiteren Rolle aufbewahrt hatte. Vertont hatte Nick seinen Film mit Musik vom Tonband, die auch hier erstmals zu hören ist. Um welche Titel es sich dabei handelt ist unbekannt. Szenen u.a. Rock´n Roll Talentshow auf Bayenthaler Kirmes, Massenauflauf in den Einkaufsstraßen, Wildpinkler, Anti-Atomkriegs-Demo auf dem Neumarkt, Skatrunde im Römerpark, schlafende Männer auf Parkbänken, Kinderspielplatz, Verkehrsunfall, Hermann Nicks Bruder spielt einen Toten, Szenen einer Beerdigung auf dem Südfriedhof.
Rare filmfootage taken by the Cologne based film amateur Hermann Nick. His film is entitled with "Fair of life" and contains scenes of nearly every generation at that time. Only 14 years after wwII the city center is busy, the people flood the shopping streets to watch the goods in the store windows. But the majority of the Cologne population is still poor. We then see a huge manifestation against nuclear weapons on the Neumarkt square, old men playing cards in a park, tired men on park benches, kids on a playground and finally the outcome of a car accident. Our cameraman used this for a statement against the increasing number of victims. He asked his brother to stage a dead body lying covered on the street and added footage of a burial on Cologne south cemetry. Anfragen/requests: [e-mail]
