    Ryan and Lauren, this is the video series I've been waiting for--Thank you for sharing! I'm going to upgrade/install a solar system on my new 44V14, as well. Depending on next week's video, I may contact Todd for a quote... Have a great week!

    I'll be interested in how you arrange and install your panels. I'm working on installing my panels on my 44v14 (3040W) with a 6000W inverter.

      Yea we don’t go that big on the roof, I needed to leave room for some other things coming soon :-) we ended up with about 2,700 watts. All of that will be in next weeks video!

    Oh boy the ROI is huge for my wife when we did ours. And certain places we stayed for three months so was able to calculate in the monthly elect usage versus the bill which every one was setting at $180-230 per month. While ours was at $70-80. lol.

      There are really so many upsides to having a system installed!

    Awesome video and amazing setup you got there. Curious how you wired the Quattros. Im assuming you wired them in split phase. I think thats the only way to do it, right? Otherwise you risk overloading the Neutral wire, i think?
    We've got a big diesel pusher with 3 ACs, induction cooktop and a dryer on top of all the other regular AC loads. I want to do a dual inverter setup as well, looking at the 48V Multiplus 2 5000, similar to your setup. Curious how yours is setup to handle a 30A connection. Have you considered adding an autotransformer between your inverters and your panel (assuming you're setup for split phase)?
    Sorry for the barrage of questions. These bigger systems are so much more complicated 😬

    • @Millers_in_Motion
      @Millers_in_Motion  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! Yes we did Split Phase for all the reason you just said, the quattros push a bit to much power to run them in parallel. I have though of the autotransformer but to start with we re rewired the breaker panel to distribute the load between L1 and L2 a little better, and we haven't had a issue running anything we want to at the same time so far, so we are probably going to leave it alone! When we are on 30A they Victron system is amazing, because it will use shore as much s it can then supplement from the batteries if I'm asking for more load, but then switch back to charge the batteries say when I'm only asking for a 15 or 20 amp load.
      Your right these systems can get complicated quick at this size!!

    I had my system installed by the guys at NRVTA and I loved it. I mostly boondock and my payback period based on average $45/night is 293 nights.
    I went with two 280 AH Big Beard Batteries, a 3000w multiplus, 800 watts of solar (that’s all that would fit) and all the other stuff to complete the system.
    Next up is a Microcell thermostat so I can turn on the AC while I’m on the way to my next site.
    Todd may remember me for the accidentally broken window (weedeater threw a rock). They did a great job of handling that too.

    We have a Cedar Creek fifth wheel with residential fridge that we are going to be living in while we build our house later this year. Since you had the dual multiplus 2 setup, do you think the dual multiplus setup would run 2 ACs (15k and 13.5k) for 5 hours/day and residential fridge full time? Or would it be better to do the dual quattro setup? We will have pole saw service that we can mooch off of possibly but will be doing a 16k array with Sol Ark 15k for the house when it is completed.

    • @Millers_in_Motion
      @Millers_in_Motion  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So if you do a dual Muti Plus that should do the job, as far as time, thats is depended on when how often the things are on, and how much storage (Battires) you have, also another factor is how quickly you can re charge the Battires!

    • @barrynelson440
      @barrynelson440 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The main difference between the Multiplus and the Quattro (and why people choose to go with a Quattro) is the Quattro has 2 AC inputs with an automatic transfer switch. So you can just wire the output of your generator into the Quattro.

      @@barrynelson440 Thats why you see them in Toy Haulers so much, most TH have a generator on board!

    Great video, I agree with you both if you live in that rig it’s the best investment in my opinion you can do. I watch Todd’s what you know videos he’s a very well versed rv technician. I guess you will tell us what the cost of this system is eventually. Missing Lauren
