- For his version of NPR Music’s Tiny Desk @ Home performance, Black Thought decided to perform 3 unreleased songs. “Thought vs Everybody” finds Black Thought doing what he does best; which is spitting nonstop, thought provoking bars. He does so over a dark, piano driven track by producer Sean C. Black Thought quickly switches gears for his performance of “Yellow”, a number from an unreleased broadway musical titled Black No More that Black Thought is currently writing, producing and co-starring in. The performance closes with “Nature Of The Beast” where Black Thought teams up again with Sean C and Portland based band Portugal The Man. Although recorded in 2018, Nature Of The Beast’s lyrics have become that much more meaningful and timely given the current state of the world. Thought Vs Everybody and Nature Of The Beast will be featured on Black Thought’s Streams Of Thought Vol 3.

Thought has at least two classic albums under his belt, his lyrical ability is undeniable, his longevity and his consistency is good, but his record sales aren't extraordinary. Factors such as lyrical ability, discography, record sales, influence, longevity, consistency, subject matter, and musical diversity all matter. I think musical diversity is his weakest link. I don't know if he is able to make any other type of Hip-Hop than this Jazzy type of Hip-Hop. I don't know how he compares to other MC's but he is definitely up there somewhere in the top five.
