In Inferno there was a parallel versions of all the main UNIT characters apart from the Doctor. Now we know why the Doctor from that alternative time line was out in the field exhorting the virtues of greed and lust.
I didn’t realise it then, but my first encounter with him was when he played Superted’s inseparable friend Spotty. More recently I also found out Melvin Hayes featured on the show as Skeleton.

As a life long Doctor who fan who has worked in the electrical retail game my entire working life, would I ever have expected to hear Jon as The Doctor, flogging the advantages of extended warranties. Lol.
Looking at this again I don't think this was ever intended for the final cut. I think it's just Pertwee making a joke at the end of a take that he knew would never be used. The line is set up for him so he must have had something cheesy to say about the Planet Zanussi being everywhere on the high street or something, and he just got fed up with playing the game. It would be interesting to see the promo in it's released form, I bet he says something completely different in that.

Nah, it's just a desperate attempt to make a boring corporate video a bit less boring. Zanussi did have some reasonably entertaining ads around that time (probably the very same campaign "the Doctor" is talking about here), but there's really no way to make this kind of information more interesting and easier to absorb than "look, you need to know this stuff. If you bother to learn it, it'll help you do your job; If you don't, you might come unstuck. Now here it is, in 3 easy 1-minute chunks. Pause the video between chunks if you need to.". The I work in retail; We get an awful of lot of "training" videos, most much lower budget than this one, but... the desperate attempts to make them interesting/engaging continue to this day. I usually end up muttering "just shut up and give me a leaflet to read! I'll go through it and make my *own* jokes." =:o/

Nah, it's just a desperate attempt to make a boring corporate video a bit less boring. Zanussi did have some reasonably entertaining ads around that time (probably the very same campaign "the Doctor" is talking about here), but there's really no way to make this kind of information more interesting and easier to absorb than "look, you need to know this stuff. If you bother to learn it, it'll help you do your job; If you don't, you might come unstuck. Now here it is, in 3 easy 1-minute chunks. Pause the video between chunks if you need to.".
The I work in retail; We get an awful of lot of "training" videos, most much lower budget than this one, but... the desperate attempts to make them interesting/engaging continue to this day. I usually end up muttering "just shut up and give me a leaflet to read! I'll go through it and make my *own* jokes." =:o/

Its an old expression which basically meant "it will take or cost way to much for me to give something up". Yes it was vulgar then but it was common why to tell someone absolutely emphatically "No". Its over 40 years old, Taken out of the context of it's time, it loses meaning.
