Thanks for covering the Stones. As a fan I have to point out that this isn't the ground where Stuart Pearce played for us (that was Lower Mead which is now a Tesco store in Harrow). We also have plans for a new stadium (we lease Grosvenor Vale, which is in Ruislip) in Uxbridge, which is even further away from Wealdstone (where I live). Neither our current nor proposed stadium is in the London Borough of Harrow - both are in Hillingdon, whereas Barnet's ground, The Hive, is actually in Stanmore, which in the Borough of Harrow, and therefore not in the Borough of Barnet. Also Harrow Borough FC (a couple of leagues below us) is also based in Hillingdon. Are you following me so far? I'd also point out that unlike any other team in the National League, Wealdstone is semi-professional - the highest placed such club in the FL pyramid. We operate on a shoestring budget compared to our rivals, the lowest in the League by far, and have been punching way above our weight for some years. As for the match being a North London derby, there's a definite friction, but no animosity. We just enjoy taking points off the so-called 'bigger teams' with their greater resources and faded entitlement. They really don't like losing to 'part-timers'. I'm glad you had an entertaining day at the Vale - even more pleased that you saw the Stones take a deserved win. :)

It’s more of a rivalry than a true derby. Wealdstone vs Hendon in the 60s/70s, vs Enfield in the 80s and more recently vs the Cuckoos (cos they stole Wealdstone’s new ground after the builders went bankrupt). Wealdstone vs Harrow Boro would be a local derby but Harrow don’t count 😂. Vinnie Jones also played for the Stones and was in the squad for the Wembley final in ‘85. Also, subscribed ✅

I grew up in Harrow & Wealdstone. So naturally I grew up following Spurs in the 80s. Still recall walking with my mum in Wealdstone market non match day pre Tescos in my dim memory, on High Mead I think
@@paulw6183 you’re absolutely right - depends when you were 7 years old (it was Liverpool or Spurs - Spurs are a just a tad closer) - who won what and who your next door neighbours supported. And as I now work in Luton - I hate Watford even more
@PHDiaz-vv7yo I know there's a lot of Tottenham around Stanmore and hatch end but most of my mates from wealdstone were arsenal, chelsea, even qpr, a few Tottenham but maybe I'm a bit younger. My wife's family are all watford so the feeling is mutual, not that I can understand how anyone can hate watford
I have a slight soft spot for Stones, saw them when they had a very decent ground within Wealdstone. Pearce never played here,and it's a dump,unfit for Nat League. I admire the way their fans kept the club alive.
Barnet were originally from North London ɓut did a mk dons and move away from the famous underhill sadly leaving many old time fans behind hense the poor attendances

I'm originally from Hatfield and went to Barnet as a teenager (at Underhill), and the derby was always with Enfield.
Enfield Town are now only one division below Barnet from this season 👍🏻⚽️
