  • Here I perform the assembly of the FMS PA-18 Super Cub 1300mm. This plane went together ok as long as you have some patience. The assembly is tight in that the pieces must line up perfectly in order to get all the screws to line up. BUT this is a good thing! A tight assemble means a strong plane!
    Get this plane here: www.fairrc.com...
Thanks for watching and staying up to date with Fat Guy Flies Rc!

Just wanted to say, I’ve watched many of your videos from aircraft assembly to Receiver set-ups. Many many thanks from an RC enthusiast from the UK for all your advise and help 👍😁 Much appreciated

Glad to help. I am self taught so I try to reach from that perspective.

Yeah i appreciate a tight fit but this was a bit extreme.

I have one of these. Compared to assembly of earlier FMS models of that size this one is a pain in the arse to assemble at the field. There are ample opportunities to lose clips and screws in the grass. I love flying it but I don't give any of the bits a chance to disappear - it stays together and at home and fits into the rear of my car in assembled mode.

I don't think I have ever put a model compley together at the field. Maybe wings on giant scale but I try to keep the models together if I can.

Do you have a video of the reflex install and the receiver? I was able to get my carbon cub S2 put together with the spectrum Spectrum AR631 receiver.. following all of your steps and it works great! Thank you so much, Greg ..I love it. Can I follow those exact same steps and put the spectrum receiver in that aircraft as well by doing the same process as I did with the carbon cub S2.?

Yes you can. And no all my reflex videos have the reflex already factory installed and setup already.

Just 3s . but small battery bay. a 2200 brick style will be as large as you want to go.

I want this plane but it looks like it takes a minute to break down to fit in the car. One thing I like about the timber for sure it’s quick to load up and throw together to fky

Yep Timbers are awesome. But this one is small enough you should be able to leave her in one piece in the back seat.

Not that the assembly is hard per se, but it does seem needlessly complicated for a newly released model.
