Splitting Trains at Fremont BART

9-car Fremont train pulling into Fremont Station in Alameda County at the end of the weekday morning commute, before splitting in half.
Prior to March 25, 2017, at the end of the weekday morning rush San Francisco/Daly City trains arriving here would split in two because less passengers ride BART during the work day. Train halves taken out of service were then moved to BART's Hayward maintenance facility in between Union City Station and South Hayward. Of course, the other halves that remained in service would turn back to San Francisco.
Since March 25, 2017, splits no longer exist at this station, due to BART's southbound expansion to Warm Springs/South Fremont Station and subsequently into North San Jose at Berryessa Station.
