Oh my oh my Hollywood embellished ..whatever shall we do????? 🤦🏿♂️ still a great movie and a nice message .Joe you made the hall of fame and had many many great moments..that guy had one small moment and it meant the world to him. Let it go
It's because people believe the Bullshit, and forgot the real star. The fact that Joe Montana wasn't even mentioned or portrayed in that movie in some small way is pretty messed up. Then they imply the guys put their jerseys on the desk and all that shit. It's a great story, and I like the movie but people actually believe everything in it happened. Scene for scene, I mean c'mon be real.
That part was definitely made up. But it was just a good scene in a movie to show how much the entire team truly loved the guy. Even the starters. What good is a Heisman trophy if you have no friends or family to share it with. What good is having your team win the national championship if they lack character and morality.
But not everyone did love him. Some didn’t even really know him. So the movie invented the jersey scene to support a fake narrative they also invented about being beloved by all the key starters. Lies beget lies
Joe didn't trash on Rudy, though. He simply dismissed the embellishments of the movie amd in another interview with them, Joe praised Rudy and his hard work.
What a bunch of cry baby’s. The movie was uplifting and better than most of the crap that comes out of Hollywood. I’ve seen grown men weep, and very young men be inspired to never give up on your dreams.
LMMFAO! Rudy was not offsides. I watched the real life play where he assisted in the sack. He was no where near offsides. But I love the hate he gets. Most “true” or “inspiring” movies are either loved or hated by people. I’m a huge ND fan. Love everything about ND. I’m glad they stay independent as a F U to everyone who wouldn’t accept an Irish Catholic school into the Big 10 or other shitty conferences. In the words of Tony Montana Fuck’em! Fuck’em All! 😂 Anyways. Let them hate. Doesn’t bother me I think it’s funny as hell.
Time and place to tell the truth. At a funeral, do you tell everyone the guy paid for prostitutes and cheated on his wife multiple times? Or do you let it be. Joe is being a huge doosch here.
Yup, the little guy with no skill got a movie made about him and Joe was upset he didn't get one. Well Joe your entire career is celebrated God forbid the final man on the roster gets his story

Really offsides or not penaltys are missed alot. No 2. Movies have a job to do. 3. Lifelong Steelers fan and I could still say Joe Montana is a cool dude
I’m not clear where’s the offsides? In the movie or the actual play. Because if it’s the movie who cares. If it’s the actual play they didn’t call it and there’s many famous football moments where the flag wasn’t thrown
Far far too often people correlate hollywood interpretation with real life. While Rudy is a neat story, reality is boring. Even the real Rudy said the greatest accomplishment in his life was a quality Notre Dame education that was life altering for him. Participating in football allowed him that. Montana is just calli g it how he sees it. Good movie, but flawed.
I don’t think he was offsides either, but the crowd was not chanting his name, it wasn’t a solo sack, and I didn’t see the big lineman rub his head when he got in the game.

Say what you will about the truthness of this movie, the soundtrack is awesome
Jerry Goldsmith!!
I'm not a Notre Dame fan, hell I usually root against them, but I watched the play myself, and he wasn't offsides at all, it wasn't even close.
TBF, when has Hollywood ever told the complete truth? It's an inspiring movie. I'll take that and leave it alone.
An inspiring lie...America in a nutshell
@@engineeringreality7878 The movie is pretty true with little changes here to add more to the story

That is true. Devine was all for it as well.
