3:02 this is so fucking funny to me. the fact that Matt would just say "coffee, coffee" as a direction for the tone of music and Jay just instantly switches keys is hilarious, these guys are psychically linked
I love that this is essentially an entire episode of NTBTS condensed into 7 minutes. They even managed to find the random encounter to help them resolve their issue. What an absolute gift!
It's hard to find, but before they were on TV, they had a webseries as well. It fits in the same continuity, and they snuck a couple references to it into the TV series. It's a bit tough to find, but it's out there. The "Wii Shop Wednesdays" skit that they're famous for was an extra bit that they released alongside the original web episodes.
@@MikeOShay there's a NTBTS subreddit that has a stickied thread which links to a Drive with all of the show episodes, webseries eps and extra goodies for anyone craving more content
You guys have been popping off recently with great guests on the podcast and now this absolutely insane crossover Already an absolute classic that i will think about constantly, such a well made skit in every regard
how did a random passerby give the perfect act 3 resolution to their professional/interpersonal relationship, with no coaching? Thats the magic of Mega64X
I am so so so so happy this happened. I had never heard of NTBTS at *ALL* until Mega64 featured them during 64x this weekend. I've binged Season 1 since then and I LOVE IT. Favorite show in AGES, maybe ever. SOOOO funny. Thank you Matt, Jay, Rocco, Mega64.
I was never aware of these guys until this video but their comedic timing mixed with Roccos editing is just great, I had to go back and watch their series.
holy shit this is one of my favorite cable shows I ever watched, mixing with my favorite internet show, how is this even possible? I haven't even watched it yet and I'm already geekin'.
It’s cool finally seeing them in the new location. Sad to see them move on from the last house even though it’s technically been years now since they actually did it. I remember when they announced they’d be selling a bunch of stuff when they moved out and I genuinely considered trekking to Canada for it. Change can be uncomfortable but it’s also necessary and potentially beautiful. Do you sell cigarettes?
Aww I love these guys so much! This was like seeing friends again that I haven't seen in a long time and I can't believe how much I've missed them. The world needs more Matt and Jay!
Do not get me fucked up: this year's stream was a joy in every way. But this segment took it to another echelon. On top of that, Rocco edited it. No notes.
Holy shit, this is incredible! I first heard of NTBTS through Mega64. At some point on a podcast or aftershow, there was discussion of other things with the classic Mega64 sort of IRL Skit vibe, and Nirvanna the Band got brought up, alongside How To with John Wilson. I can't wait to hear more about this collab on a podcast at some point.
This is amazing. I finally got on the Nirvana the Band the Show train this year and assumed this must be a hidden gem from years past, but NEW ntbts???
Genuinely one of the most unique and entertaining things I’ve seen in the past year. This reminded me of when a show I love does a standalone episode, except I’ve been watching this show for almost 20 years. It captured my attention and gave me a moment of clarity when it ended; A rare feeling to have as an adult, Thank you.
I really really hope we see more from Matt and Jay! If someone could go ahead and leak the unreleased footage they filmed for season 3 that'd be great...
finding out Rocco edited this and left in the "for obvious reasons... they have a white guy with dreadlocks" an immediately cut away was the highlight of this year's panel for me
Holy shit literally the greatest cross over of all time, if we can’t have S3 of Nirvanna the Band the Show I’m still glad we got this! Literally felt straight out of the tv series with some elements of the web series thrown in, I absolutely loved this, made my week!
I like how it just seems like they're messing around at first, but by the end you've witnessed their bickering escalate into a whole fight that was only half-resolved. In the end, Matt is still mad and Jay's only happy because some guy in the store told him his nephew likes to listen to Fifa menu music.

100% thought they edited this. Rocco did a great job capturing the same energy.
Speaks volumes of Rocco's editing skill that I also had zero idea this was not edited by Matt/Jay
Walter what the hell are you doing here
The only thing it was missing was black and white slow motion dialogue
Heyy walter thanks for all the bones
Thank you Wlathur.
Holy fuck this is surreal. My favourite Canadians doing commentary on my favourite Americans. Crossover event of the decade
The editing being by Rocco is CRAZY to me since they captured the original vibe SO well. Absolutely LOVED seeing this. Made my day during the stream!
No way they found such an organic way to tie in the bit with the store guy talking about music lmao
that was the best. it felt like a eureka moment
That's how their show is, they're willing to change the narrative from random interactinos
Matt Johnson's work is incredible for this.
Saying these guys were the guys that did the Wii Shop Channel Song Video is like going to Radiohead and saying Hey play Creep
the only reason this was in my feed was I was watching that video again (repeatedly) and thank goodness YT sent me here.
Boy, I picked the absolute perfect week to start binging Nirvanna The Band The Show, and then THIS happened!
It's hard to find, but before they were on TV, they had a webseries as well. It fits in the same continuity, and they snuck a couple references to it into the TV series.

There's a movie being made instead of the planned season 3 that was supposed to happen. I can't wait to see it, I hope it has special screenings.
You're lucky

Incredible crossover!
Easily my favorite segment from this year's 64X. They re-edited this a little bit for this upload but the sketch still works.
I'm genuinely floored at this collaboration happening
What a treat, this is probably my favorite cameo they've ever gotten.
Surprises like this are what make 64X my favorite convention of the year!
I don't know these guys outside of that Wii Shop song but this was fucking hilarious and right up my alley 😊
Their show "Nirvana The Band The Show" is this but longer. And two seasons.
@@ThatGuyRusty even more if you count the old show (which you should)

I've always said Rocco has a Chris Farley energy
Chris Farley mixed with Andy Kaufman 😆
Yo it’s the director of Blackberry (2023), starring the guy from Shes out of my League (2010)
This was so great! Hope they hop on the podcast sometime!

Oh fuck, I love these guys. I still have one of their original DVDs from before they added the second 'N'
my heart soars... I've never been this happy. no other crossover will ever come close. it's all downhill from here
This rules. I miss NTBTS so fucking much, hope they get to get back to it someday.
I thought I was only 7 people who knew about Nirvanna the Band
Do not get me fucked up: this year's stream was a joy in every way. But this segment took it to another echelon. On top of that, Rocco edited it. No notes.

00:39 - that random note and awkward look. It’s the littler random things that makes Mega64 so special and hilarious.

This is perfect! It feels just like a new episode of the show.

Love being blessed with more Nirvanna the Band content. Hopefully that third season gets figured out.
