Kim, when Master Gichin Funakoshi wrote "Perfection of Character" as a major principle in the practice of Karate, it goes without saying, that we need to share not only the physical aspect of the art but what the art brings to us in terms of a transformed life. Almost everyone can do such a thing making it a commonplace endeavor. It is when we share our life - our transformed life brought about by our practice of the art that would make us truly relevant to people particularly those who are yet to be involved in the art as a transformed life is clearly the evidence of the great value of Karate as a lifestyle as it moves its participants in the right direction of being beneficial not only to themselves but also to society. And as we share that transformed life to others, we not only encourage parents even their children to also focus their eyes in the direction of Karate as a way of life. Where then as we are able to encourage people to get into the art, we shall have given our life, a more meaningful and purposeful one as we have left our lifetime legacy in their lives - a legacy that cannot be bought but generously shared out of the goodness of ones heart honed by the personal and social values that the Art of Empty Hand Fight has for its noble practitioners. Oss!

Wow, that was truly beautiful. Very well said 🥰 I completly agree with your message and that Karate is trully designed to shape ones life for the better🔥 I can feel the great transformation happening within me in real time as I continue along this path of self-improvement, self-discovery, and self-actualization.

@@yukimtorres Given what you said, now I can tell you this, the ultimate essence of "Perfection of Character" is how you are seen by others as a noble person impacting their lives. Without you as a karate ka impacting lives, you are but an instructor in the physical art, no more no less. We, by the Master Gichin Funakoshi's purpose hidden in or the deeper meaning of his "Perfection of Character", we as instructors of the art are supposed to impact the lives of others both the karate kas and non-karate kas, young and adult, males and females and the like both in the physical and moral realm versus instructors only the physical realm. They are the day to day commonplace instructors. In the moral realm, we instruct people by the way a noble and seasoned karate ka carry himself in private and public life and when asked, "How come?" He is not always ready but also with great enthusiasm share his karate transformed life. And that what is beyond all these is the initiative and generosity of character that is also a by-product of "Perfection of character" that is NATURALLY driven to share one's transformed life - such is the essence of a TRUE TEACHER meaningfully and purposefully on own INITIATIVE, impacting the lives of others -his most valued contribution to society. Oss.

@@ferdinand1177 Thank you for those very Wise words. I wish to continue this journey of true self-improvement through Karate in hopes of inspiring those around me to do the same. I wish to hone my skills and talents to the best of my ability in order to impact as many peoples lives as I can. I truly owe my life to this art, for it gave me the mindset and beliefs that I currently have. I'm truly grateful for how Karate has guided my life.
