I just got now got to the second dance at around 2:48 -- from just seeing the first two seconds or so, if I didn’t know this was a Basque festival, I would have immediately thought "Oh! Morris dancing!" (which I only know about because of my interest in English traditional folk music, which led to my exposure to a Morris side in my city. I can't dance; all I ever did was watch and occasionally strum a mandolin with the musicians on the sidelines. Plus, until fairly recently, Morris dancing was males only.) Anyway, back to watching! So glad I found this channel -- I'm looking forward to learning more about the Basque country and people -- including the diaspora -- and the unique language/dialects!
I'm interested : did you contact the museum or them contacted you ? 🙄 I love the oinkari basque dancers, they have an awesome video of fandago on ytb 😍 and the song of agurrak I love too ^^ it seems a mysterious song haha
Honestly I've been in touch with the Basque Museum from a while, so I don't remember who contacted who first on this particular project. But I'm glad the collaboration happened either way!
No way ! Im enjoying your channel! Im from basque country, you look Euskalduna ( basque) , I love how we are like so mentally strong to not let this language to die and all that, oldest language in europe still alive and probably in the world! I wish we could get the independence from Spain but unfortunately this wont happen probably, one question and ill ask you in my native language, EUSKERAZ!: ¿Euskeraz hitz egiten dakite Estatu Batuetan?, ¿zuk bizi zaren lekuan behintzat? Oh! Yea and BTW when I got my dna test result I got over 300 DNA matches all over the US , hundreds of people that shares small percentage of my dna! Would be funny as hell If you shared adn with me Haha! , funny fact: in euskera we write "karkarkarkar" referring to "hahahaha" Yea ik its wierd xD
Glad you're enjoying the channel! To answer your question, yes there are some Basque speakers in the United States. My dad and the Basque immigrants of his generation also speak Basque, although not all of their kids (like me) carry on the language. That's really fun to learn about "karkarkarkar" XD
I will appreciate if the beautiful lady would remove the ring from her nose while she broadcasting, no disrespect is intended, she is a beauty, GOD Bless Her 🙏🍷🇺🇸
Holy crap… I am so stunned by the influence Basque has on Mexico.
Love this btw I'm the drummer in the beginning of the video
Heyyyy that's so cool! Thanks for stopping by the channel!
