I'm with Mr B, I too have an MR license and have experience towing heavy machinery and drive with respect for truckers! I have just done up my Colorado for "capable touring" with many legal modifications, and am about to upgrade my insurance to a comprehensive policy. I'm about to register a small camper trailer as well so I'll be looking into whether the insurance will cover it too or if I need a separate policy. I love having a UHF radio in my vehicle! It's great for listening to the trucks and hearing of any situations on road conditions ahead and to let the truck drivers know what my intentions are when passing. Hi guys I’m just touching base with you I know how you feel about all of what happened to you we had the same thing happen to me when I was on a 3 month trip in WA 😢. Thankfully no one got hurt in our incident but we lost our van a hilux went through our Jayco freedom 8 years ago. So good on you for putting your journey with all of this. I totally agree with you Mr B, trolls don't need to be out to try put people down. They are so annoying and terrible people and so dislike them and there comments. Never forget the time where "Just Vanning It" had those trolls too where they made disrespectable comments about Sue and they thought of stopping videos but glad they didn't as we don't what those Trolls to ruin it for everyone else who love these videos that you all make. We thought you so brave the day of the accident and were in awe of you. The stress you were under! My goodness ! Thank you for sharing the things you have. Your honesty and openness, amazing. As a couple, (on the road for about 18mths), we've now had some really deep and meaningfuls about what if that had been us... Thank you . Enjoy your new van. May you have some wonderful times in it.

we have only discovered your channel since you've had your accident. and we can 100% empathise with everything you've said in this video and the last few. We wrote our trailer off on the nulliabour. The shock at the time was increadible and in the days and months that came. We left the trailer in the hands of the tow truck after we got as much as possible out of it on the side of the road. and all we wanted to do was turn around and come home. I have so much i want to say about how we feel for you. I have no real words. videos like yours are invaluable for people to be aware of all the things that people should know incase the worst moments happen. best of luck in your future.

Filming straight after the accident is a good thing because it show how traumatic the event was to you and also documents a clear picture of the scene directly after the accident.
Yep , and also while most people are decent, now and again you run into despicable types that will cause an accident and then blame the other party , or even just take off , years ago we were had a car run into the back of our Ute while we where stopped at the lights , which shocked the driveline and jammed our car in between gears , , the dude that ran into us backed up and took off , unfortunately there are people out there that are scumbags , so yes , dash cam and or document everything with your phone if possible .
This was such an interesting video after such a terrible experience. TH-cam has introduced us without any prompting to a number of sites and when yours popped up 2 postings ago we were curious when the whole adventure came to a crashing halt. The way that and the following posts progressed we became interested in how and certainly hoping all would work at well for yourselves. I don’t get the negativity from some that you mentioned but that seems to be a bent that some have and hopefully you can erase them. All the best with your travels and we’ll look forward to seeing your posts. Oh I’ve started to research dash cams. Safe travels.

I am 67 and my husband is 78 and we recently went round Australia in a campervan. Smaller than your A frame. We loved every bit of it.I also grew up in Brisbane. My daughter served also on HMAS Hobart. So I relate to you guys. I cannot imagine the trauma you have both been through. I send my love and admiration to you both.
Great video, I have just done all of our insurances and for this reason have made sure both our vehicle and van are insured for what we need to replace it with, if anything does happen. It doesn’t take long to make a call to check.

Mr B as an ex military veteran 🇬🇧 I find my motorhome a good mental leveller, but keep pulling up those sand bags and get those brews on with Mrs B.. 👍👍 and regarding a dashcam I’ve had them in my trucks for years and it surprising how folks change their tune when they are involved in any accidents etc with you 😉

You mention Ultra care but I just want to make sure that you’re aware of RACQ Ultimate. That is the level of cover you need to have. It would have provided you with lots of benefits after the accident.
Thanks for all the information , it is useful , I'm insured with Suncorp but I'll look into RACQ next renewal time for sure . Re. truck / ute etc. , call yours whatever you like , to me a ute can be anything from a Holden / Falcon type to any modern Japanese / foreign single cab or dual cab with a style side or drop side tray . I have 2 dual cabs from the Isuzu family , I call them dually's or utes , the next step from there would be a light truck which I suppose could include some vans like a m.b. sprinter but never a VW Kombi , so much confusion on what is called what . The last time I bought a truck it came from the Tonka factory and it was a gift to a small person 😄

Im so clad your all ok even the other people in the car. We looked at RACQ ultra care and went throught all the cover they has as you know. We chose Club 4x4 becasue of the total recovery of both the car & caravan as a package IE towing the van/4x4 to a repairer, accomadation lenght period flights, trailer hire also was covered.. Club 4x4 were lowever cost and more cover after an crash or recovery, and we have looked into this exact situation you have been in and the cover we have as I said is more than RACQ Ultra care.(note we have been with RACQ Ultra care before)

I'm with Mr B, I too have an MR license and have experience towing heavy machinery and drive with respect for truckers!
I have just done up my Colorado for "capable touring" with many legal modifications, and am about to upgrade my insurance to a comprehensive policy.
I'm about to register a small camper trailer as well so I'll be looking into whether the insurance will cover it too or if I need a separate policy.
I love having a UHF radio in my vehicle! It's great for listening to the trucks and hearing of any situations on road conditions ahead and to let the truck drivers know what my intentions are when passing.
I look forward to seeing where you guys travel to next.

Hi guys I’m just touching base with you I know how you feel about all of what happened to you we had the same thing happen to me when I was on a 3 month trip in WA 😢. Thankfully no one got hurt in our incident but we lost our van a hilux went through our Jayco freedom 8 years ago. So good on you for putting your journey with all of this. Enjoy your new van and don’t dwell on the past the future a head is the most precious thing you can look forward too. Happy and safe travels on your new adventure.

I totally agree with you Mr B, trolls don't need to be out to try put people down. They are so annoying and terrible people and so dislike them and there comments. we have only discovered your channel since you've had your accident. and we can 100% empathise with everything you've said in this video and the last few. We wrote our trailer off on the nulliabour. The shock at the time was increadible and in the days and months that came. We left the trailer in the hands of the tow truck after we got as much as possible out of it on the side of the road. and all we wanted to do was turn around and come home. I have so much i want to say about how we feel for you. I have no real words. videos like yours are invaluable for people to be aware of all the things that people should know incase the worst moments happen. best of luck in your future.

Filming straight after the accident is a good thing because it show how traumatic the event was to you and also documents a clear picture of the scene directly after the accident.

Yep , and also while most people are decent, now and again you run into despicable types that will cause an accident and then blame the other party , or even just take off , years ago we were had a car run into the back of our Ute while we where stopped at the lights , which shocked the driveline and jammed our car in between gears , , the dude that ran into us backed up and took off , unfortunately there are people out there that are scumbags , so yes , dash cam and or document everything with your phone if possible .

This was such an interesting video after such a terrible experience. TH-cam has introduced us without any prompting to a number of sites and when yours popped up 2 postings ago we were curious when the whole adventure came to a crashing halt. The way that and the following posts progressed we became interested in how and certainly hoping all would work at well for yourselves. I don’t get the negativity from some that you mentioned but that seems to be a bent that some have and hopefully you can erase them. I am 67 and my husband is 78 and we recently went round Australia in a campervan. Smaller than your A frame. We loved every bit of it.I also grew up in Brisbane. Great video, I have just done all of our insurances and for this reason have made sure both our vehicle and van are insured for what we need to replace it with, if anything does happen. It doesn’t take long to make a call to check.

Mr B as an ex military veteran 🇬🇧 I find my motorhome a good mental leveller, but keep pulling up those sand bags and get those brews on with Mrs B.. 👍👍 and regarding a dashcam I’ve had them in my trucks for years and it surprising how folks change their tune when they are involved in any accidents etc with you 😉

You mention Ultra care but I just want to make sure that you’re aware of RACQ Ultimate. That is the level of cover you need to have. It would have provided you with lots of benefits after the accident.

I have wonder about some of the questions. Good on you for answering all of them. Great detail about the 'incident'.
Thanks for all the information , it is useful , I'm insured with Suncorp but I'll look into RACQ next renewal time for sure . Re. truck / ute etc. , call yours whatever you like , to me a ute can be anything from a Holden / Falcon type to any modern Japanese / foreign single cab or dual cab with a style side or drop side tray . I have 2 dual cabs from the Isuzu family , I call them dually's or utes , the next step from there would be a light truck which I suppose could include some vans like a m.b. sprinter but never a VW Kombi , so much confusion on what is called what . The last time I bought a truck it came from the Tonka factory and it was a gift to a small person 😄

Im so clad your all ok even the other people in the car. We looked at RACQ ultra care and went throught all the cover they has as you know. We chose Club 4x4 becasue of the total recovery of both the car & caravan as a package IE towing the van/4x4 to a repairer, accomadation lenght period flights, trailer hire also was covered.. Club 4x4 were lowever cost and more cover after an crash or recovery, and we have looked into this exact situation you have been in and the cover we have as I said is more than RACQ Ultra care.(note we have been with RACQ Ultra care before)
