    Yes! high reps and drop set everything. There will never be a moment in your military career where you will be asked to shrug or curl something for 8-10 reps with a minute and a half rest.
    You will squat a hundred times and go right into flutter kicks or pushups or planks. Or some other squat variation

    • @ValhallaVFT
      @ValhallaVFT  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Yep this is all exactly right. That’s why I mention training for military fitness like this is somewhat niche and doesn’t follow your typical fitness/weight lifting guidelines.

    Nate Ty for this, I began implementing this 10x10 rep scheme on squats with 225, deadlifts with 225 and 145 on bench with about 90 seconds rest between sets. At the moment I’m getting smoked and hitting failure by the fifth or sixth set of 10, so I have scaled it to 5x10 and 5x5 and will look up to work up to more volume without lowering the weight . What your describing is strength endurance training and it’s similar to how CrossFit structures part of their training and you can use it in the gym a example would by 60-70% max clean and press 15 sets of 2 with 90 seconds rest or like 20 sets of 1 rep deadlifts with 60 seconds rest and slowly add weight or reduce rest time

      Ya actually have quite a few buddies who are NG now. Regarding deployments there really isn’t that much difference, they go onto active duty orders and are technically active while on missions.
      The biggest difference obviously comes in living a regular life and just doing your typical NG time. SF NG guys can typically be active as much or little as they want, so there is a lot of flexibility for them in that regard.

    These are some comments about Special Forces physiques that I took from Quora, cleaned up grammar-wise, and expanded on a bit. Is anything like this even remotely accurate?
    “US special forces operatives are often bulky because they need to carry heavy equipment and weapons, and also because they need to be physically fit to perform their duties. Additionally, many special forces operatives engage in regular strength training and conditioning to maintain their physical fitness and readiness.
    When being a part of any specialized team it always requires different physical and mental strengths.
    -Dive/Scuba team members will do a ton of swimming and are usually lean.
    -Mountain team members do a lot of isotonic training and are generally tone.
    -HALO/Free Fall/Jump team members do core training and will mostly be stocky.
    -Mobility team
    Then of course each team member based on their MOS will sometimes have their own looks.
    -18A (Special Forces Officer)
    -18B (Special Forces Weapons Sergeant) look like knuckle draggers.
    -18C (Special Forces Engineering Sergeant) will have no neck.
    -18D (Special Forces Medical Sergeant) have a barrel chest.
    -18E (Special Forces Communications Sergeant) will have tree trunks for legs.
    -18F (Special Forces Intelligence Sergeant) look like meth-addicts.
    -18X (Special Forces Candidate) look like meth-addicts.

      HALO teams being fat I can see if they are trying to increase bone density to withstand landing on the ground after jumping and parachuting out of an airplane. However, I would thought that mountain teams who be the fattest since they are dealing cold weather more than the other teams due to being up in the mountains.

    • @ValhallaVFT
      @ValhallaVFT  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Huge volume of miles isn’t going to help for increasing speed. That is done through workouts ranging from 100m sprint repeats, 400m or 800m repeats, even up to 1 mile repeats. Running them as fast as possible with as minimal rest as possible. Slow, long distance running will not improve your times for short distance run events.
