Marine tankers were pretty useful during WWII & Korea. So maybe purchasing some of the M10’ Bookers wouldn’t be a bad idea for use on decent sized island.
I was in marjah with 2nd battalion 9th Marines from July to February. We were getting into 2 to 3 fire fights a day for a long time. I would always make jokes about getting injured a little bit just to get some time off. In November, my Sargent was shot 5 times, once in the left hand, once in his right jaw, and 3 times in his right shoulder area. I helped our corpsman fix him as much as possible. He lived. I stopped making those injury jokes, and six days later, I caught a bullet with my left shoulder.
As a civi thank you for your sacrifice and those of your brothers welcome home. Im not overimbelishing when i say the days where the depression is winning i tell myself people got shot people died for this day and it gets me out of bed i have severe arthritis in my back and neck that realy hit my ability to controll my legs and whatnot and people like you are why i push through
Um, tanks aren't a good idea until you have to bridgehead Taiwan and hold it long enough for the Army to get there. Then you will WISH you had them. Force on Force is no joke, even against the Chinese.
I think the replacement for tanks is supposed to be close air support, works fine when you have air superiority, not so much in contested air space. Not really sure of China's capabilities though, even if they have the numbers do they have the training? These are questions our Generals can't even answer.

The Ospreys got such a bad reputation as a crew killer, but IIRC while each crash is high profile only like 50-60ish deaths have occurred in it's while life cycle including R&D. Meanwhile the "Safe, Tried and Tested" UH-60 Blackhawk has a MUCH higher crash rate, and likelihood of fatalities. I think 400+ people have died in UH-60 crashes, with them being a straight up widow maker for the prototypes and early models with multiple crashes and deaths per year. I know I'm right about the UH-60 actually being more dangerous than the V-22, but my numbers might be off; it's been a while since I heard it and looked it up. I still love'em both though, think the Osprey's cool as hell and the "Blackhawk" is Iconic for anyone that grew up in the 90's-2010s; especially with GWOT, Afghanistan, the invasion of Iraq and subsequent insurgency, etc all going on simultaneously and portrayed in damn near every war movie and game released that was based in modern to near-future times.

@@tristenthomas7352 Depends on what they want to use them for, shock troops rarely need them and hitting a group with just rifles doesn't need a tank exactly. Tankers are like gold fish, they grow to the size of their bowl.
The bigger they are, the less they bounce around inside the tank
