I recently upgraded my Focusrite audio interface from a Scarlett 2i2 with 2 inputs to a Clarett 8 Pre that has potentially 18 inputs. I thought it was a good opportunity to film me setting it up so you can see how I record and how to setup an audio interface yourselves if you haven't already.

Great vid Karl. Love Focusrite gear. Had the 2i2 for a while. The Clarett range are nice but definitely not cheap! Using a USB Mixer these days. Anyway thanks for the vid. Always informative and best of all, entertaining :)
My pop is a retired Academy member/film editor from Universal, Disney, and others, and he labels all of his patch cables with tape and a sharpie!

Hi my pc don’t have thunderbolt connection and my clarett 8pre is thunderbolt where can I get the cable thunderbolt to usb
Thinking of picking up one of these. Does it have the option to pad active inputs?
If you run your torpedo live into the Clarett SPDIF with a digital coaxial cable you a) have a spare input jack on the Clarett b) get to choose either the wet or dry signal mix from the torpedo live 👍🏻
Do you know if this is only more expensive than my focusrite because it has more inputs or is the sound quality better than my focusrite that only has one microphone input?

Karl ...did u upgrade your Mac with more memory or an ssd drive ...I also have a 2011 model and would like to run the same setup as you.
Any luck? I am looking to possibly use one of these on my mid 2011 iMac (which DOES have thunderbolt). My US-2000 finally bricked.
good info my question is how to live stream using this interface I cant get it to let me use my Mic it wants me to use built in Mic on my I Mac even after I change the settings. thanks big like and subscribed

This is why Windows is total trash lol Drivers, shitty usb, and completely clunky software integration.
OSX is just plug and play.
Actually, the Claretts plug in just as easily to Windows 10. It picked it up right away and automatically set it as the default input/output device. Both the software and hardware worked great! Windows is also "just plug and play" :)
This "shitty usb" you refer to to is the digital protocol (not thunderbolt) actually in use on the very interface featured in this vid...
