Thank heaps for coming Sam, was great having you over to share the hobby that we are all so passionate about. Lets do it again in 1-2 years for sure 👍 Regards, Lawrence
Thanks so much mate. Would love to visit in a year and see how things have progressed. And please do let me know if you’re ever down my way, be great to have you hear for a meal and to chat all things reefing :)
You must go back yearly to this stunning set up. I can’t believe how beautiful he’s made this is such a short amount of time. PLEASE 🙏 go back yearly so we all can see the progression of the SPS colonies as they fill out Lawrence’s masterpiece! Well done Lawrence well done…

Hey Sam, I just wanted to say thankyou for all the videos you do for us, for our entertainment and to help us maybe think of things to do differently in our own systems that other hobbyists are doing to make their systems run smoothly. It must be hard sometimes to leave your home and head out to record these incredible systems and shops. We will always enjoy your content. Cheers Sam
thank you so much! It can be tough getting out and about, but it is always enjoyable to both see these incredible systems but then get the opportunity to share them with you all via TH-cam :)
What a great bloke and an absolute stunner of a tank. Would be great to get an update of this in another year or so! It looks so happy and healthy now it will be epic with a bit of grow out time.
This was an amazing video and definitely an aspirational one! 4.3m?! Far out!! But, it was great to hear that success can come with "simplicity", which is the approach I've taken. As much as I'm a gear-head at heart, it's great to see another simple approach work so well. Thank you for all the amazing content, Sam! I've learnt so much from your channel.
Absolutely epic system...can't believe how much those blue green chromis make that tank, they contrast so well and all the other fish and give them a little extra pop. 15 plus years of reefing and never keep them, on my way to local LFS to get me 10...Thanks for the inspiration.
What an amazing first tank. The assortment of fish and corals look great. He has so much more room for many other corals and fish. Beautiful system. His equipment room is equally as nice. Thanks for the tour Sam.
Wow mega tank, looks awesome. Credit to the owner, such an achievement getting a young tank to where it is already on that scale. Hopefully you will get to film it again in another 6/12 months to check on the progress
The K7’s are great, I have one here, I have a spectrum analyser and it’s every bit the same as my hydra 32’s except more Par for the same watts, strangely if you adjust to be 100% the exact spectrum width as the hydra 32’s then the hydra runs better for corals this is because you have to reduce the royal blue. But keep in mind the green channel also lights up a blue channel, very annoying that they decide the mix but it’s OK. Also I only use Jebao wave makers they work fine for half the cost of their counterparts, just throw their power supply into the bin and get an Aussie power adapter of the same power rating.
Wow. Amazing. I never thought I would see a tank as great as "anything QT reef" by gallery aquatica TV but this has it beat. That tank has more tangs/fish but the corals of Lawrence's tank have so much potential. The achilles tang is a must. Maybe Lawrence should also consider an orange shoulder tang. Love those fish when snorkeling in Maui. Also a few cardinals. Pajama and banggai are great. I would also love to see a follow up on this tank. Congrats to you for such a great TH-cam channel and Lawrence for such a great tank.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! I agree, some big fish in this system will really bring it to life and you bet - I’m super keen to book a trip back to Sydney in 12 months for a follow up!!
man, I thought I was a little crazy getting a custom 1800x1000x800 for my first marine tank after having 100l tank to test the waters. epic tank mate. hope I get the chance to build a tank in a house build down the track
Hi Laurence, Great Tank and Masterpiece too, so Well Done Indeed! Just wondering the thickness of the tank glass and what type of glass you have used too for the viewing panes and what the thickness of the tank bottom glass is if different? Thanks to Sam for sharing this Masterpiece too. Thanks VBR John

Nice video Sam. What is this rock inside? First tank maybe, but someone is guiding him for sure. He said that this tank only rely on kalkwasser? What is his supplementation method?
Also using triton supplements after monthly ICP tests. Yeah getting some help from the community which is fantastic, we should all assist each other in this hobby where we can - we’re all trying achieve similar goals!
Hey Guys, it's Lawrence here. I run Kalk and Triton core 7 other methods together. The rock inside is a combination of live rock and that Fiji artificial rock.
I worry about those Pentair UVs - I've read so many horror stories about the housing failing after a few years and spilling water all over the place. That said, what a beautiful tank!
I've used Pentaire for 15 years. Used extensively in aquaculture too. Never heard of them having a problem. I actually run 10 of them in my breeding room.
I designed the superblue layout for the ledzeal mirage light. Kevin at ledzeal will verify this. I am not sure but it appears your x300 have my layout?
Hi Bud, Yes they are the superblue layout. Interesting you designed the light scheme with Kevin. I really like these lights, they are super powerful with a great spectrum. I am currently running them at 25% and reaching over 500 PAR
Stick with filter floss pad. Its less hassle, costly etc. I made the musrake and went back to pads. Simple is better. There is a reason why wwc etc just use pads, put your hand in, pull sheet out, add new sheet, no electricity costs, no fideling with a machine to load new paper rolls, constantly fixing when it jams, the replacement paper works out more expensive then the floss as well

Gorgeous. 😊 Is the tank glass? It looked to be glass. If glass is it tempered? Laminated? Thickness?
Yes it’s glass, I don’t think it’s tempered or laminated, I’m no tank builder but I believe it’s low iron float glass
Sam I can see your next dream tank being this size! Do it! 😅

My question, does he run just kalk?
Thanks in advance,
Kalk and other elements as per Triton ICP results suggest

Another proof you don't need crazy expensive light to grow corals.
True that!
How much do you guys pay for scolies over there? Nice (not top tier) ones are like $200usd here, I figure it's cheaper from the source?
Definately not cheaper close to the source can still range high end in AUS at $350-500
Still expensive coral here, but we do have access to slightly better pricing being closer to the source

How does Powder Blue survive...Its an Ich Magnet??????????
Big tank, lots of fish, isn't stressed like they are in most of our tanks as he has heaps of room to hide and get food
Far out, 15 ft 😅 i don’t even have a room in my house big enough lol
