Kick-Ass (2010): Using his love for comics as inspiration, teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) decides to reinvent himself as a superhero -- despite a complete lack of special powers. This movie should've been called 'Hit-Girl'. The 'Kick-Ass' character was good but Hit-Girl MADE this movie!

I can’t say enough..Chloe Moretz blew me away with her performance as Mindy McCready and Hit Girl. I couldn’t believe how well she acted in a way where she was pure entertainment. I love this movie.
Her performance in both movies was fuckin incredible. The MCU should’ve casted her as Captain Marvel. She’s just got badass energy.

I remember there was criticism that a little girl had such a foul mouth. That little girl was a murder machine and people were concerned about her language?
They missed the best one. Where she showed up as the 'lost schoolgirl' and shot the guy through the door mans cheek. That movie was so awesome and Miss Moretz was 80% of the reason it was. She played one hell of a psychopath at 11 years old! She should have won an Oscar even though she did it in a campy, low budget action movie.
There aren't many child actors in brutal action roles either... I could also think of Dafne Keen (12 at the time), who was also great as X-23/Laura in Logan and Alisha Weir (14) in "Abygail" ...... but that's it.
@@inkognito1534 part of the reason you don't see it very often is because it's pretty tough finding a stunt double for someone under five feet tall. LOL!
@@ScottLafray-dd2fp There are some child stunt doubles, as they are also needed for films that do not explicitly have children in the main action roles. I think the problem is more that the studios rarely dare to show children in such scenes, especially when they themselves are the brutal killers.
Never have I seen that role of a loving dad better played.

Do it, my daughter's 12, she can pick locks, Shoot a pistol, rifle and Bow, has a left jab that comes out of nowhere and a armbar thats really slick. I'm really proud of her.

One of my all time favourite films with one of my all time favourite film characters Mindy McCready a.k.a Hit Girl who was absolutely bloody brilliant and hilarious, she had such style the way she cold bloodily dispatched the baddies (like the woman in the red dress 💃). Whenever I watch Kick Ass I'm pretty much laughing from start to finish and Chloe Grace Moretz was never better but she's always awesome and worth watching.
Was the woman in the red dress a baddie? She seemed mostly afraid and got that broken bottle to defend herself, not to attack, running when she could until she ran into a locked door.

And BD & HG are as 'unknown' vigilantes, witnesses & evidence reduction is a thing for them, especially as BD is both an --framed-- ex Police Officer & Criminal,
...staying out of both sides of the fence's eyes allows more room for escape, evasion and an amount of peace of mind (however relatively f**ked up his naturally his/was) characterise.
I was completely alone in the theater and laughing my ass off.
Would have loved to have seen a Deadpool / Hit Girl crossover... Deadpool taking over after her father was killed... Some hard lessons in parenting.
Heck, Hit Girl vs Deadpool - Marvel is always pitting one hero against another due to some misunderstanding.

Chloe Moretz laughingly said that her parents would have killed her if she used the type language hit girl did.
I find it super weird, if that is true, that they DID let her actually use the type of language hit girl did. That she said it "at work" doesn't mean she didn't say those things. And her parents knew better than she did, at that time, that people would get laughs and enjoyment out of a very young child -- their daughter -- saying what they disapproved of. This is not even to mention the fake violence their child mimicked.

When she saves Kickass and they start playing The Banana Splits Song..... Blew me away. The last thing I expected in a modern movie was the theme song from a TV series I watched in the late 60"s. I was 6. This is the Dickies Version. Very good. Just so unexpected. Very good scene, one of my Favs.

When this was coming out I had to paus the trailer and not let them spoil it. I watched just a few seconds and paused the trailer and then got the movie to watch it peacefully and enjoyed it as one should.

I never thought of Nicolas Cage as Batman but the scene where he kills the bad guys in the warehouse was awesome. I would love to have seen Nic Cage as Batman in a Batman movie.
She was terrifying punching out the green screened dog thing in Shadow in the Clouds. Looks great when she is in movie fitness mode. I would not want her pissed off at me. PS best kid cussin' ever. I love how she just lives in John Wick's world.

As usual Hollywood portrays being shot at close range even with a vest is no big deal ? 😂 That little girl would need to go to the hospital to treat her broken ribs.

To be fair, she looked padded beneath the vest. Like, extra padded. So, I don't know. She indicated she's used to being punched in the chest, although she hates it.
It's not meant to be accurate, so the popcorn violence doesn't have to be perfect.

I wouldn't call these scenes "funny". Amidst the ultra-violence, this is an amazingly clever tale of morality.
