I think of Undertaker as this, funnily enough I wrote a story where he protects a unicorn foal -not MLP-then he and the foal get into the MLP universe and he has been ousted by Celestia after learning what he is so he joins with Chrysalis to exact revenge and to get home, but he remembers that the foal is at the palace so he has to go through it non violently to retrieve him but Chrysalis zaps him with her magic to control his mind like she did with Shining Armor but being not of that world he was able to fight it and turned into a unicorn to combat her, and after the battle Celestia lets them use the mirror to get home
