I was raised with these type of family values and thought it was the norm. Imagine my surprise, after being so naive, thinking every women I dated would hold the same goals and values for family and marriage. They pretty much all failed while slowly finding out that most women were raised by single mothers who either divorced their husband and/or just slept around and had babies with no marriage goals in mind. It’s a cycle of brokenness that seems very unlikely to change in most cases. My worldview was kind of crushed when I realized that our society now fosters hook up culture and it’s very unlikely to be married with a faithful women that has traditional, conservative values. I realized that my parent’s generation seemed to be the last to hold on to those values. Even though they were still in the minority. But I agree with Charlie, that there is no sustainability in hook up culture, and it just breeds brokenness and degeneracy.

I was raised with these type of family values and thought it was the norm. Imagine my surprise, after being so naive, thinking every women I dated would hold the same goals and values for family and marriage.
They pretty much all failed while slowly finding out that most women were raised by single mothers who either divorced their husband and/or just slept around and had babies with no marriage goals in mind. It’s a cycle of brokenness that seems very unlikely to change in most cases.
My worldview was kind of crushed when I realized that our society now fosters hook up culture and it’s very unlikely to be married with a faithful women that has traditional, conservative values.
I realized that my parent’s generation seemed to be the last to hold on to those values. Even though they were still in the minority. But I agree with Charlie, that there is no sustainability in hook up culture, and it just breeds brokenness and degeneracy.
