Same here! I had frayed edges on a beautiful Kate Spade tote that I purchased 2 years ago at TJMax. I have now repaired the handles and I have a brand new bag for the minimal material cost versus $150 quoted from a repair shop. Thanks for this video!

Thanks for the info, but I have a denim bag & the straps are wearing just the section that is on the shoulder down. Do you have any tips to repair that? I am open to covering the section with new material, its my go bag for everything, had for 4+ years now. Thanks for anyone's assistance
Ha! I noticed that before the scissors clip you didn’t have any band aids on. AFTER the scissors you had a band aid on. Did you have a little accident?
Slightly sand down a little of the old edge that was not damaged. When you are applying to the damaged area make sure it's in line with the old Slightly sanded edges. Once it's in line, apply one last coat to the damaged area and apply one coat to the non damaged areas at the same time.
Lori Adams i havent had any issues with it because its not going to be a rubber edge like the original it just seals the edges so you arent left with raw edges if you get what i mwan. everything still intact
You can try it if its a long strip and see if it works with yours. In my case i had way to many small edge strips sticking out and it wouldnt of been even. The edge kote is more of a coating, it seals the edge, it doesnt create a thick gell like material like the original if you know what i mean.

❤ I don't know if it will work but you could try this product in "clear" formula.
what about cracks in the handles?
im not sure if it works for that maybe, just not as many layers so its not thick. this bag didnt have cracks, just animal print so cant say.

Haha yes but unrelated to the project. I was cooking in between shots nd cut my finger.. Clumsy me 😏

So it's painted, but no support for the edges so it loses its shape 😢😢

Hi! Buy Fiebing’s Acrylic Resolene. They have colors or clear and it’s a top coat waterproof protectant.
