I have a suggestion for you. I do this same technique with my paper mache vases , but when I want to use in vase of glass, I use a mix of white glue and water same ratio, then I lay toilet paper sheets with the glue. They stick very strongly and get very hard when dry it., then any kind of texture you add will stick very well.
Wow, the best painting technique and colors that I have seen for this kind of aged pottery look. Thank you for an enjoyable video.....I'm ready to paint!
I have seen a lot of techniques & I think yours looks the most authentic ! Gorgeous results, really look like stone! Love the colors you use! Excellent!🌺
Great job. I too have used joint compound, but, I do think that plaster would hold up better if you were going to set them outside in the elements. That being said, I would use a good sealer over them if I were to put them outside. Joint compound does not dry as fast, but, I think too, that plaster would be more durable. Thanks for sharing.
Really like your work. Soooo good to see the results authentic and very organic and natural. Possibly one of the best videos I’ve seen to transform pots.
Doing this with joint compound or spackling is so much easier than your method. Both of these don't dry out so fast and I think they make a more realistic looking vase. Not to mention, much more water resistant.
Brilliant absolutely brilliant what a wonderful idea congratulations you’re one of the intelligent people on TH-cam sharing quality information I love it I would love to learn how to make that face planter of the woman it is so beautiful
You can do the same with a small container of Quik cement or concrete patch from Home depot and you wouldn't need to paint it. I have done empty glass bottles and they look great.
This was fabulous! Thank you. I look forward to seeing you make a larger version....like the one Ellen DrGeneres had in her home while taping the show!
i have a question. Does it crack when dries? because when plaster dries it usually shrink a little bit. In my experience, when you plaster on a hard surface(like glass jar or bottle) that makes some crack when it completely dies.
I suspect those areas that wouldn’t take the texturized May have had some oil on it. Did you clean with alcohol first? I really like your final results.
Love the video. Great idea. BTW, if you want to retard the setup time of your plaster, just add a little bit of baking powder. Blood works also but... who wants to do that? Conversely, if you want to speed up the setup time, just add a little salt. However, be careful doing that as salt also weakens the plaster. Not sure that matters for this application, though. Also, you might want to invest in some rubber bowls and metal plaster spatulas for future projects. It makes mixing so much easier.
Would love to make these for outside too. If someone has suggestions as to how to ensure they survive over winter, please, please help. Thanking you in advance.
@@getlauriekor Thanks for your recommendation. I live in the UK and I don't think they will survive a UK winter outdoors. But will definitely make them for indoors.

This one is so nicely done. Absolutely loving it and gonna try this. It's gorgeous
Gracias Lucy 🤗💜✨
What about adding a little bit of joint compound to your recipe to make the shell stronger?
if joint compound gets wet, it will absorb and fall off. would be ok if your piece will be inside
artistic work ...beautiful
Very beautiful. I like it a lot!
Looks great!!!
Love this & looks so easy.
Wow just wow!! Can't wait to do this. Your "how to" was excellent.🥰

nice art- thanks- palm springs, ca.
This was fabulous! Thank you. I look forward to seeing you make a larger version....like the one Ellen DrGeneres had in her home while taping the show!
I can’t wait to try this!! Can they be put outside? I’ve never worked with plaster of Paris before.
Woooowwww that's the artist work
Who can turn glass to stone. Well done girl. 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Add white glue? How long does that surface last, just being plaster of paris....seal?
👍 nice
I suspect those areas that wouldn’t take the texturized May have had some oil on it. Did you clean with alcohol first? I really like your final results.
Can the glass crack or break from the weight of the plaster?
Would these survive outside?
How long does it take to dry?
Loved this so much?!
Fabulous project. Kudos!!! ♥
How does it hold up against water?
Sooo beautiful!! I can’t wait to try this! Do you have to let it dry for a long time??

Is the glass container from dollar tree?
Can you use plastic planters
Yes
Looks great! Can you place these outside or do they need sealer first?
Would love to make these for outside too. If someone has suggestions as to how to ensure they survive over winter, please, please help. Thanking you in advance.
You,would defiantly have to,deal them. You’d need a matte varnish. I’d do four or five coats.
@@getlauriekor Thanks for your recommendation. I live in the UK and I don't think they will survive a UK winter outdoors. But will definitely make them for indoors.
@@getlauriekor Excuse me, I'm Spanish and I'm not sure I got everything she said. Does she add any glue or just plaster, sand and water?
@Tammie LaBonte Thanks a lot. That's all I needed to know. Looking forward to giving it a go 😀
Can this get wet?
Loved this, is the paint you use oil?
The paint she used is acrylic.
🙌😍😍😍👏👏👏👏
Beautiful work, but the music is annoying, thank you
👏👏👏👏💐

Loved this, is the paint you use oil?
