To make a cowboy hat, in the tent where Tom nook is there is a nook stop that looks like an atm machine and you will find something called a pro design thingy and you can make hats and there is one where you can make a cowboy hat. The Animal Crossing e-Reader cards imply that the Nooklings are Tom's sons or nephews, but Nook states in Animal Crossing: Wild World that he has no relation to them, and that they are simply his employees. In later games, certain villagers mention that Tom Nook found the Nooklings as orphans and adopted them
i thought i would give you some tips since i'm into the game a lot: tip 1: talk to tommy! he'll be walking outside, and he'll give you tips and tricks as well. tip 2: if you want more space in your inventory, go to the Nook Stop, click redeem nook miles, and buy the blue card that's called "pocket organizer" tip 3: once you get a shovel and/or an axe, you can eat fruit from the trees and with the shovel, you'll be able to dig up a whole tree, and with the axe, you'll be able to take down a whole rock. tip 4: i suggest finding the part where you get to the museum because you'll be able to use a stick that Blathers gives you to get over the water to other parts of the world tip 5: the museum takes 2 days to be constructed fully, so i suggest if you find any new bugs or fish, keep them so you can donate them to the museum (you cannot donate to the museum while it's under construction) tip 6: always roam the beaches! sooner or later you'll find Gulliver washed up on the beach. keep talking to him until he wakes up. he will ask you to find his communicator parts. instead of digging up the whole beach to find them, they will be in the sand where the little water squirts up tip 7: pay off your loans for your house by ten-thousands. since you skipped through them in this video, it's a 98,000 bell loan. i would say wait until you get around 15,000 bells, then go to the Nook Stop to pay off 10,000 bells. Do this until you get done! i find it easier. tip 8: going back to redeeming nook miles at the Nook Stop, i suggest buying the red card that is titled something about upgrading your tools. i'm pretty sure it's 800 nook miles, but this is just off the top of my head so i'm not for sure. this will make it so you have new DIY recipes: better tools! instead of the flimsy stuff, you get recipes for axes, shovels, fishing rods. tip 9: relating to tip 8: KEEP YOUR FLIMSY EQUIPMENT! you use your flimsy equipment to make the new ones! tip 10: if you don't have enough room to put everything in or outside of your house or tent, enter your house, and click any item in your pocket you want to keep but don't want in your pockets, and click "put in storage." there's a storage category in your house you can put anything in! i don't know how many slots are in there. this storage is useful for keeping bugs/fish you want to donate to the museum but can't yet tip 11: log onto animal crossing at least once a day and stop by the Nook Stop. you get nook miles for holding a daily streak in game. you get your bonus nook miles from the Nook Stop. tip 12: this one's sort of obvious, but sell items you've caught or have gotten already to timmy. there's no need for extra bugs and fish that just take up places in your inventory. tip 13: talk to your fellow residents every day! i'm pretty sure that if you talk to them, you get nook miles after a few days. i'm not for sure on this, but talk to them! tip 14: for times other than when you're searching for pieces for Gulliver in the sand, those little water spots are clams, and the gold, glowy spots in the grass are 1,000 bells. (if you do find 1,000 bells, it goes in your pockets, so you have to cash it out. just click it to receive it.) tip 15: use the d-pad to get out items in your pockets. left d-pad and right d-pad get anything out of your 1st row of pockets out, and down on the d-pad puts it away. i'm not quite sure what up does, but you can try it out tip 16: when you're in your house, you can use the d-pad as well. down on the d-pad makes you go into "build mode" so you can see and move things around easier. i'm not sure what the others do. you can see your storage that you put items in (see tip 10) using either right, left, or up on the d-pad, i don't know which one. i'm not even sure if that's right. tip 17: if you buy or receive a nook miles ticket (from the redeem nook miles section at the Nook Stop), if you go to the airport, you can use that, and it'll take you to an island. this is a one-time use thing, but you can keep buying them at the Nook Stop (they're 2,000 miles a piece, i think). if you break an item while on this island, see the pilot back at the dock, and you can buy equipment off of him! i can't think of anything else you would need to know. i really hope this helps :)
