This is the most amazing version of Twilight Galaxy I've ever heard, it was the first version I ever heard, and the second Metric song I ever listened to. Now, I know every lyric to every song of theirs, and even Emily's first solo album "Cut in Half and Also Double". Metric continues to amaze me every day of the week, every moment of the year.
By the way, props to the whoever it was who set up the sound for this performance at spin. Its so clear you can hear every inflection of Emily's voice and the subtle squeak of Jimmy's fingers moving along the neck. Really captured a side of Metric you don't get to see or hear in the studio recorded material. I'm so impressed (then jealous, then just impressed again) with their talent as a musicians, especially Emily's heart felt songwriting and immaculate yet natural vocal delivery.
This right here proves without a doubt that you don't need a million dollar setup to have a million dollar sound. The acoustics of the room = FANTASTIC They should perhaps record and release an all-acoustic album along with a few 'new' releases. IT.WOULD.BE.HUUUUUUUUUGE!
I like acoustic versions better than the normal ones. You can really focus on the lyrics and it brings a lot more passion to the song and listeners. Great Job.
