My role as a person in customer service is to be an NPC. For reference, I'm a butcher at a grocery store. I literally have pre determined scripts. For answering the phone, taking custom orders, and basic interactions, I'm just recycling the same script over and over. Lol.
I work phone tech support and regularly get people a few times a week at least asking if I'm a robot. and when someone knocks me off my scripted parts I get so lost on what to say next lol.

I don't have a tiktok, but my husband downloaded it to see what it was about. It is by far the most weirdest thing I have ever seen. I am so glad I never got on the hype. It's too much for me. I'll just stay over here on TH-cam, where it's mildly safe.

Okay, I actually noticed this popping up a lot on my TikTok and had no clue they were supposed to be NPCs. It literally is the weirdest thing to stumble across the first time without knowing it's a trend, but when it keeps happening you feel like you're the only sane person left on earth. Nobody in the comments questioned it and it felt like a fever dream. I'm so glad to find that this is a legit thing and other people know how weird it is
The thing is, none of them seem like NPC's in video games. Except the white guy in the supermarket. He was really good and I could actually recognize what he was doing. The rest of them are just bizarro land and annoying.

Another reason why I’m glad I never gave in to getting TikTok. My mom has an account and showed me what the app is like and it just looked like way too much for me. It seems too over-stimulating to have videos auto play like that and having to scroll through countless loud & obnoxious videos to find even one that’s funny or relevant to you/your interests. I like Instagram & TH-cam being my only socials - they at least seem a bit more tailored to what I like and what I’m willing to mentally absorb everyday if that makes sense.

What I like about these reaction videos is that they rely more on drawing a through line and extrapolating instead of just shock and gut reactions. Sure I could listen to you make jokes about these creators but I appreciate more that you can thoughtfully weigh the pros and cons, the harm and harmless.

It's bizarre, uncomfortable and irritating to look at. It's not just like acting like Jamie said. If that's really her opinion, then it is what it is. But to me it seemed she was trying too hard to prove she's not a hater and that it's actually terrible to criticize how women make money on the internet. If Tana Mongeau thinks it's good, you know it's garbage. We shouldn't judge things by the morals of people like Mongeau who would eat literal shit on the internet if someone paid her. It's definitely tough to look at women constantly sexualising themselves in the weirdest ways online and making themselves look dead eyed and stupid to make some money. Getting the bag just HAS to be humiliating somehow. It's pretty terrible that everything women do is political, but it is. Men do this, look goofy and no one thinks men as a whole are terrible. Women do it and end up taking it a million notches further because everyone loves to look at women looking dumb. And no, the money doesn't offset the damage. Sadly, the way the dumbest women act affects how all women are perceived.

Honestly this is a fresh Tiktok account kind of issue, once you've been on it for a while the algorithm tailors itself to what you like.
For example I get a lot of movie/book character edits, animal videos and food videos. Like how if you sign out of TH-cam all you get is music videos, five minute crafts and late night shows showing up on your home page
