After recent "graduations" I've kinda lost the emotion of seeing them leave. Like they literally just gonna change their brand (aka vtuber character). People kinda forget that it's very unlikely these people will get a "normal" job and will become indie on stay in the industry on one way or another.
At this point it is more about grieving for the loss of in jokes, relationships with other talents, the web of collab partners etc. They are not going away entirely, but things are also never going to be the same.
"It's kinda weird if you're not the main character of your own life." ...yeah, it does feel pretty weird. But at least the director keeps bringing me back on new episodes for some reason. So I have that going for me.

Her announcement really goes to show you that anyone can leave. So its best to just enjoy who you watch to the fullest. You never know when they'll be saying goodbye, for now
I think at the end of the day, it is a good thing because Fauna feels like she can make the choice to leave and it won’t necessarily destroy her streaming career. I think just about everyone and their mother knows at this point that her previous life was Lemonleaf and more than likely she’ll be going back to that after she graduates. I think if this happens 2-3 years ago, there would be an awful lot of unknowns, but seeing how a lot of former Hololive and Nijisanji Vtubers careers are thriving as indies or current VShojo members, then I think Fauna will be just fine once she leaves. Ngl, gonna miss the Fauna character design, but I’m happy she’s choosing what’s best for her. I (and probably many others) knows what it’s like to be in Fauna’s position. I’ve worked MANY jobs where I was only at the company for 2-3 years and left because I didn’t think it was a good fit. I see an awful lot of “doom and gloom” posting about Hololive as a company and the people leaving whereas this is WAY more normal than they are making it out to be. Don’t get me wrong, I too have some concerns about Hololive’s current direction, but I wouldn’t put them in the same ballpark as Nijisanji when it comes to corporate incompetence and mismanagement.
1:53 I am truly grateful to Calli for saying this, it's the first time I've heard it from another Holo EN and it lifted a weight off my chest. It's obviously important for the talents to reassure their own fanbases at a moment like this, but like she said, it doesn't do anything to reassure a person who's oshi has already decided to leave. It sucks, there's no easy way to make it not suck, and I'm just glad that Calli acknowledged that.
Calli is a real one I always respect her contribution. I didn't expect her to say that last part though, hinting that they'll still be streaming and to go follow them that's wild.
I also wanted to say that while I don't watch calli all that often, (her streams usually occur when I'm busy), she's always going to have my respect for how she operates. Always open minded, considerate, honest, and hard working are very much words that come to mind seeing her around. Its something I don't think I've verbalized about her. Because when I see clips like these, they illustrate really how strong she can be for others and herself while not denying anyone their feelings and remaining forward thinking. While she may not be my favorite, Calli definitely has massively earned my respect over the years.

The last part really summarized my feeling, yes it sucks and it is so sad, if you ask me of course I absolutely hope Fauna could stay, but what we could and should do now is to support and respect our oshi's decision. I believe other holomems also have the similar thoughts but Calli really expressed this out so directly and honestly, and I totally believe in her.
Damn, Calli really came out with the perfect response. "Things are working out for me, but I understand that different people have different situations, and it's reasonable to be dissatisfied if things aren't working out for them as well as they are for me."
I also wish Fauna stayed around for longer.... I'm being selfish and I know it, but the news hit me pretty bad... She saved my life on 2021-2022 while I was in a very dark place in my life, so for her to suddenly leave like htat, of course It broke my heart incredibly. I'm being selfish, but... I will support her wherever they go.
I know it's a done deal the instant they come out announcing their departure. The only thing I think the saplings and others can do now is to have as much fond memories as you can while they are in Cover. I would like to see Fauna getting that 1M sub at least before January, she's like about 46K short. Once Jan comes and the dust settles, I'll be seeing some of you saplings on the other side. It'll be a different experience altogether but look forward to that at least.
People leave but then we get new members. It just sucks to see them go. I was sure Fauna of all people would stay. She was so chill and just blends in with everybody. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, they might have been struggling with personal problems.
Gotta love dad being the literal dad of EN and trying to reassure everyone. But honestly I understand that the company has to evolve over the years to avoid stagnation, and with like a hundred talent between 3+ branches, there are gonna be those who don't like the direction things are going. It's not exclusive to vtuber agencies either, regular ass companies suffer the same thing. Management changes and people decide they aren't happy there anymore.
Honestly starting to wonder. Did the whole "dad" thing spur her to be the way she is? Or was that just part of her personality all along and we, almost accidentally, just kinda nailed it? What I mean by that is, she checks off a lot of the boxes on the list of things you'd associate with the fatherly archetype. When she has something to say, it isn't always sugar-coated, but it's coming from a place of love and sincerity. She just such an... _example_ , to be admired.
To that I have to say... why? Why do companies have to avoid stagnation? Have they never heard of "if it ain't broke don't fix it"? @@Mazed927 Chat called her dad sometime after debut, and since in the start there was a lot of push for the TakaMori ship, Calli took the rol of dad and therefor (for a little while) Kiara took the mom rol. The dinamics changed, but Calli tol this day keeps the dad rol, and the mom rol was with Fauna sometime (even tho, regular viewers really didnt think it matched her at all, only more general fans that didnt invest to much time in any talent specifically) and then the rol kind fade out (maybe some people think about Liz like that? idk really, but its a posibillity). Its a little vague explanation, but i dont remember the details, so i went with the general picture (and excluding HoloJP and ID, since that changes some things).

I think the key takeaway is, it’s extremely difficult to please 90 wildly different talents. Someone’s going to be unhappy/disagree with the way things are.
The perks of working at any company tbh. It doesn't even need to be a change in the company. At some point they ask or want things that you don't want to do or you want to do things that the company can't let you do so if a middle ground can't be obtained then you leave and move on. A disagreement can be whatever, it just needs to be something that you really can't compromise despite loving to work there so you choose to quit. Tbh I am really impressed how Cover as a company managed to keep so many talents all this time bc they are all so different and it is a creative type of work and keeping everybody happy in creative environments is hard.
Yeah in the end if Cover didn't take the direction that it did in growing what it can do in the last few years they may have just ended up losing different people. Folks just need to listen to their oshis and try and shut down some of the garbage narratives going around.
This is a weird comfort but it kind of helped me: the maths of the situation shows that a) Hololive has had unusually few graduations so far considering the size of their roster over time and b) that means now it is completely normal for there to be many more graduations than we're used to. Even if we assume the average Holo career is 7 years (a long time in vtubing) then we're still about 10 graduations fewer so far than expected statistically, and anything less than 6 or 7 per year now is still beating the odds. Edit: it sucks to lose those who graduate (Fauna is my EN oshi), but even then credit where it's due: Hololive still has very good retention rates. Pending further evidence, one must assume a large majority of the girls are pretty happy
You talk as if they left because they had been here for so long and got restless. It feels disrespectful as if you completely dismiss their actual reasons. There's no natural law that says they have to quit and go indie eventually. If they do it means they no longer thinks the agency is worth it.

I think the original comment draws reference from the average content creator life span, like the let's player of early-mid 2010's. Not a lot of them survived until now, and a lot of them that do survive have slowed down or outright retire. 7 years of creating content can be tiring after all, so I get it if the girls wanted to slow down or move to another field.
@@pite9 I think both are true: every talent leaves for their own reasons and makes their own carefully thought out decision (unless it's a termination), and it's a pity for all the fans; and at the same time, statistics across the aggregated population can give us an idea of what to expect as "normal" while not telling us which specific talent will leave when and why. Now of course the assumptions of the stats can be challenged, but I haven't seen much evidence that we should expect the average corpo vtuber career to be much more than 7 years or that the distribution of career lengths is something very different than a normal distribution. Edit: for anyone curious, the 7 year average figure comes not just from looking at the industry overall but is also borne out by Hololive's own figures based on the proportion of talents that have made it to each annual milestone (1 yr, 2 yrs, 3 yrs...). Looking at that we get an expected avg career length in Hololive of 6.8 years (excluding CN by the way).

I mean, it's not like the talents are dead and gone forever. Fauna, the character, will be gone but the streamer will be back streaming. Yeah, we can watch her any time but it's not really about that. I don't know if people who say that just don't get it or what, but the part that's upsetting and sad is that when they graduate they won't be part of the Hololive group any more and can no longer stream with those people. So, yeah, I'll probably still get to watch her play Pikmin 3 next year, but Promise will forever be missing a member, Faunamart is gone, and she'll never host another tabletop stream with the EN girls. BUT... we will eventually hit a threshold of graduations where they will stop being sad because more and more of them can reunite. We already have streaming potential with Dooby and even Namie if she's up for it.

Its... It's so hard man. I've been trying to smile for her, and it's very damn hard. Funny enough Calli and Gura's stream really calmed me, and I'm now not as sad. It's just I hate being Selfish and wanting her to stay for a longer time... I should be rooting for her success on the indie scene, I know she will do very good.

Hang in there, fellow sapling, and don't hate yourself for your selfish wants. I too feel the same, still wishing we were in a timeline where success and purpose coexist for Fauna in hololive. These feelings are authentic, and we should acknowledge that part of us. That we still feel despair means there's no room yet for apathy in our hearts.
"One wrong word and it's over-analysis city" is too true and I hate seeing people speculating and making themselves and other people sad about what they _think_ might be the case when the reality of the matter is we may never get to know and very well may not be allowed to know if we ask in the future. For now I feel more reassured by things Kaela and Calli have said here, among others, about how Fauna will be fine going forward.
Made me teary eyed, i also really appreciate that Mori wasn't subtle about us following Fauna to her new streams, after Hololive. That is extremely reassuring even if she doesn't give names (LemonLeaf for Fauna, dooby for Amelia Watson). Thank you for that, Calli. You have my respect and my appreciation. This is my first graduation and I... holy hell I didn't realize it would hurt. I see people come and go through my life but... Fauna hurts. I'm glad to know she isn't really leaving, just changing, and again I appreciate your kind words and being so gentle with our hearts during this unexpectedly difficult time.
Honestly, yeah. These are still people employed by a company. And if you are not happy with your employer, and especially if you have another path you've ready to go down, why stay? Leaving when you're not happy with the current situation is the correct and healthy thing to do.

2:32 unfortunately, creative work and capital growth are nearly incompatible. Not entirely, but nearly. If there was "a way that works for everyone" Cover would simply be another Vshojo. The talents would be confederated, they would have greater creative freedom, but they would be less financially secure and without access to the mechanisms corporations have to make large-scale events and sponsorships (among other opportunities) happen. Do you maintain your artistic integrity at the expense of your financial wellbeing, or do you force yourself to compromise, and even do things you don't want, to ensure your stability and survival under capitalism? Maybe it's reductive, but it is a choice that artists face at one point in their life or another.
Well said. At some point, literally everybody will leave. It's just how the world works. Very few people do the same job for 10 years or even 5. Content creation is no different, especially when the nature of that industry is changing constantly year-on-year. The only thing you can do is enjoy and support the people you enjoy.

I highly doubt Cover would pull an Anycolor. We probably will never know the true reason the talent behind Fauna decided to leave, and she's not obligated to say a word about it to us. Changing jobs or workplaces is a fact of life. after a while, everyone just wants a change of scenery.
The point about the 90+ members is a good one, its kinda crazy to think about. If you asked fans on the spot almost no one would guess its that much. Personally I'm overall more happy she's going where we think she is and pursuing the type of content she wants to do. I'm just sad for her about the lost collab potential, e.g. I was really enjoying the league streams, just doesn't feel the same without her (no offense at all I love the others especially autofister).
It's genuinely sad to see quite a few fans (EN and even JP) went over to Yagoo's TH-cam channel to vent their anger on him. Some JP fans even asked for "changes" within management to better fit each member's schedule. ...Do they have any idea how understaffed Cover is? Even Astel and Towa talked about it during VCR GTA 3 how they weren't able to even use many of the new studio's rooms because they didn't have enough tech staff, and these fans expected Cover to be able to "neatly" fit schedules to suit all 90 members' needs? It really made me realize how naive these fans are. Do they honestly expect no disagreements within a company whatsoever? Especially with one so understaffed and growing so fast? Do they honestly so naively believe that their Oshis will stream as a Vtuber forever? Without feeling burnout at all? Really?
I kinda understand calli. Its like how someone you knew said something like "i cant work in this condition, its bad and people are rude etc etc" and you who also work in the same place feel like everything is fine and nothing that actually bothered you.
yeah it's generally two things next to each other and its kinda hard to understand for some people, I've been around too long, worked for to many companies and have had to work with and as a middle management before. and in the process worked with CEO's/Owner-operators and directors. - A persons relationship with a company as a staff member or contractor is different between people (As much as management/owners/operators even other staff may try and keep things professional and on the level for everyone involved they're human and WILL treat people differently on how the connect with them) - People have different levels of what they consider respectable or bullshit or whatever else, been on both ends of that, been the person who's the one of the few around who's had enough and one of the ones who's like "this is fine, I'm not annoyed but you do you Boo"
At the risk of rambling on, the thing that gets me most about Fauna's graduation (besides the fact that she's my EN oshi) is that it seems so much more vague, which makes it feel more serious. The way she sounded during the announcement and her specific word choice just leaves me feeling kind of apprehensive. She claimed it wasn't the idol stuff, it wasn't because she didn't want to be a part of hololive, it's not a health related issue... just "disagreement", but that could be anything. And then it seemed like after the announcement every other member focused so hard on reassuring everyone that they still love being in hololive and they're not leaving, that they don't have to travel if they don't want to, they can opt out of things they don't want to do, etc. which made it almost feel as if people were siding with hololive instead of with Fauna, and that made me sad. I feel like instead of the usual "it's okay, she'll be fine wherever she ends up" speech I just want someone to say that she has a good, legitimate reason to leave considering it's her (self-proclaimed) dream job. I'm not doomposting or trying to speculate, I just wish there were something concrete to reassure the fans about her situation in particular. You just don't leave your dream job over a small disagreement, so no wonder people were going wild speculating and overthinking things.
I do hope everyone in vtubing gets to achieve their goals in life before delivering one finally hoorah once they retire, a silver lining and to cherish the fun memories even though it's over

Pretty much my thoughts. People have differing opinions and experiences in their work place which is why you will see different perspectives from members. Some people are not turning on their brain with some of the speculation though. Fauna outright denied certain things being an issue but people still bring it up. There is also speculation that is easy to disprove from anyone that actually keeps up with Hololive like the idea they can't take breaks.
Look at it the other way, Fauna can return to do more stream that fit her strength like ASMR and games she didn't have perm for. It's just sad that we won't be getting another 7D2D with mommy Fauna taking care of the gang.

Yeah, that's the perfect way to put it. As a fan of everyone in Hololive I wish they could all just stick together and stay happy forever but that's obviously not realistic. Fauna is one of my top 3 in Hololive history, only behind Ame and Coco. More than anything I want her to be happy with what she's doing, and if that means leaving Hololive, well then we'll follow her to wherever she goes.

Always have fun, make good memories and support your kami oshi or oshis while you still can. The career of most vtubers are short lived after all for one reason or another even if they may still pop out afterwards in a different form and place.
One thing anyone who has been here long enough can tell that these girls work long, hard hours. Some people are built different (like Calli) but it’s completely reasonable to get burned out. Being in Cover is a lot more than just streaming.
While I'm just casual random clip and sometimes shortwhile stream tuner of HoloEN, it does bit suck that the comedian lineup will be reduced once again. But like I keep commenting on so many clips about graduations. Corpo or independant, Vtuber life is hard since it's not all about just shooting the breeze and playing games. (And even it is, entertaining giant crowd frequently does get taxing) I hope I am not reading too much on Calli's words, but seems like there's little bit of disagreement of future of Fauna's. Could be as simple as she wanting to be little less idoly, little more streamery or something. The important part is that whatever Fauna spirit will migrate to after graduation, she better have fun and exciting time!

When 4 of your Big Talents leave consecutively over a short period of time, with a very similar reason of why they leave, of course people gonna make a fuss about it. It's very normal reaction.
Fauna sounded very sad though, so it's obvious if you listen to her that she didn't actually want to quit her job, that would imply she didn't enjoy doing this anymore. But that wasn't it. She felt forced to quit over a disagreement with management. We don't know what the disagreement was and maybe we'll never know unless she's allowed to talk about it in a year or two. Edit: sorry, this wasn't directed at OP specifically. It's just that way too many people want to make it seem like Fauna simply hated her job or wanted to pursue other things instead.
@luisochoa576 it feels like the weirdest graduation to me, especially when she enjoys being in Hololive so much that she feels guilty about it. Also, the fact that neither party could come to a compromise, especially when Hololive is very accommodating to the talents. Allowing them to opt out of a lot of things and take long hiatuses if necessary. I don't think this is ever not going to feel weird to me without an explanation.
It's funny both Calli and Kiara both said keep supporting post holo IYKYK where to go. They aren't loyal to the company beyond the opportunities and the friends in it. Your friends wont want you staying if you don't like the job any more they would rather you be happy, and if you stop having opportunities why stay? Yes it's sad they wont be in collabs any more but we will still see them around and we know they talk BTS.
For being a hololive fan for about 4-5 years at this point, while I had interest in JP talents, the drop of HololiveEN really made me happy to see where it was going. Ame was who I stuck to first, and I loved her all the same. Fauna debuting clicked with me on par with some of the other JP talents that I've wished I could understand more to appreciate their content further. Graduations have hurt, seeing the girls go for one reason or another, and Ame affected me a lot despite the Ame Way paving way for a shining star every so often. Seeing Fauna announcing her graduation though? This sapling is still hurting from the news, and as Calli said, the selfish wish of mine to get her to stay is ever present. I'll support her to the end, and even as she graduates. I'm bound to the forest after all.
Actually really sweet of her to quite literally say "go follow her on her next account" I feel like a lot of holomems are even scared of hinting at the fact that graduated members are going to keep streaming instead of just dropping off the face of the earth. Yeah, she's right. Even Suisei's been upset with the comments making negative speculations about Cover, but I guess we've been comparing them with other entertainment companies that mistreat their talents. I don't know Cover's situation, but if what Suisei said is right, then they might've done everything for the member's wishes. But the question is why they stated with the management's relationship negatively? If they have done everything for them, then it wouldn't make sense. I mean, we got 2 members graduating at the same time, and it wasn't normal according to my knowledge and Hololive's history. It's just whatever they said took many misunderstandings, and honestly I fell into that same disappointment against the company like everybody did too! But yeah, like I always say before, everyone has its own end, even a new goal to achieve. If Cover helped them a lot with full care, then we should respect their will and keep cheering for better future.
I would not be surprised if Suisei got top priority for her projects. It just makes sense to invest in someone who's so successful in recent times. As someone who struggled within the company in her early career though I'm sure she can relate to that aspect as well, everyone has a different situation.
You're reading to much into the timing of those graduations Chloe gave a good reason health and that she is doing something out side hololive and her health situation made pursuing that AND holo not workable, Chloe went so far as to say Management were very accommodating to her situation to avoid canceling projects but it had just gotten to a loop of not catching up. Fauna is the only one to leave this year saying she had a disagreement with management, and truth is un less she says something on her private channel it was most likely a bunch of boring business disagreements that lead to her choosing to leave. Also Ame and Chloe are Affiliates so not sure how you take it as them having a problem with the company is they are staying partly on board? each circumstance of departure has been unique stop trying to make this some grand drama it's just professionals leaving a job to take their career in a personal direction.
It's complicated and I'm wore out talking about it. Saying it sucks is an understatement. Ever since Sana I've tried to not get invested too much, but Fauna was so unexpected it just made me mad. More mad than sad, but I get it and I support her decision. I especially applaude her leaving no doubt by graduating. Ame and Chloe being affiliates is PR...among other things. It's false hope.
wherever everyone goes after their live in hololive, im sure they are gonna do great, even if its just plain old retirement due age ( we all know it must happen eventually), what saddens me the m ost actually is that my fav gen is 2 members down and next EN reco will not be the same with out her.. but thats a me problem ... its a feeling i must deal with myself while supporting their descitions..

She said afterwards that it's impossible to please everyone, so it's a case by case basis. Magni and Vesper both left for different reasons. Most of them because the indie life suits them better than a vtuber agency.
Well, what do you expect management to do? Realisticlly there really isnt much they can do to improve things. Difference of opinion? You can't please everyone, its literally impossible. Some members might want to do things differently but if the majority doesn't, the company can't just change things to please the few because the other side might want to leave then. Health issues/Burnout? Talents are already allowed to have long breaks, they can also refuse jobs and adjust their workload if needed. So other than sending them to the doctors, it's out of management hands. Work process? A lot is tied with third parties and legal procedures, so the speed of things is not entirely up to management. Their hands are tied and they also have to wait as much as the talents. Lack of staff? They can't just hire new people on the fly. For one, the new hire have to qualify for the job. Second, any new hire has to be throughly checked otherwise they are a potential security risk. Either by potentially leaking company secrets or an actually threat to the talents which at best would be an overeager fan intruding and at worst a mentallly unstable hidden stalker. Not to mention, the company would need the budget to pay more staff which could lead to selling more shares and that could bring more problems by ceding influence to short term profit chasing shareholders. Like it easy to blame management, they are not perfect but please keep in mind that for all the flaws, Hololive management is realistically already as good as it can get. None of the members really suffers or are really ignored, some frustation might be there but unfortunately thats just how the world works. If any member wants to leave it's for their own goals as had it been previously.

It's impossible to know without more details, but Fauna left for a reason and there may well have been ways that the company could've done better which would prevent it. And even if right now it's a problem that is only really affecting a few talents, it's important to push back and show unhappiness, so that the problem doesn't grow and start affecting everyone else. I feel like some fans are trying to push a narrative that actually everything was fine all along and Hololive is and always will be as perfect as it can get, that this was just a normal expected thing, even though in the response there were definitely talents that said there were problems which simply weren't big enough for them to consider quitting.
@@duarpeto Of course, it's not perfect, that's the downside of being a big company but again what do you expect them to do? Yes, Fauna left for a good reason but so will others in the future and there is literally not much to do about it. There is only so much they can realistically and legally do to streamline things and cater to all the members. There will always be some sort of issues but it's unavoidable due to the size of the company and legal procedures. Besides the talents themselves are already very vocal about any issues so it's not like the talents are suppressed, they don't need white knights. Sometimes people simply don't mesh well anymore as a company grows. Like seriously that happens in any growing company. So unless a big incident happens that really screams that something could have been clearly done better, there is no point in blaming management and demanding improvements when it's out of their hand. It really is the simple reality some members will leave (and that's a guarantee, no one will stay forever) and nothing more could be done about it. People need to accept that too and not doom posting and throwing baseless blame around. Besides Cover has proven themselve countless times that they strife to do better as much as they can and don't rest on their laurels but we won't see any of the inner workings.

That's not to say people should talk like Hololive is evil, but there's absolutely value in pushing back. You keep thinking there are some invisible limits to what they can do but outside of some specific things which do not seem to be the reason why Fauna left, they as a company are the ones that define their limits and what they can do. As in, they can always choose to expand their ability to deal with certain things, or relax on whether something is actually necessary for their brand image, etc. It's all about what priorities the company actually has, and what they are willing to do. If you want everyone that is currently in Hololive to keep being happy with their jobs and be part of that environment, you'd do well to put pressure on the company that they should try their absolute maximum to prioritize every single talent being happy, over everything else.
I'm not affected too much since I've already prepared myself that no one would be in hololive forever ever since coco left. I'm at least glad that fauna will still be streaming(🍋🍃) after graduation unlike other vtubers I also used to watch that just completely disappeared into the void.
This is such a real response. Exactly what you'd want to hear, not this ridiculous "everything is going to be okay!" response that we got initially. It's measured, realistic and on its surface transparent. It's not like we want the talents to speak for the other talents, but when its your oshi leaving don't tell me everything is fine because a piece that I loved about the company is now missing, and that sucks. Kudos to Cali, I appreciate that she understands what's up and isn't afraid to say it. Sad as the situation is, it's a refreshing take that seems far less artificial than some of the others. Sometimes it really is better to say nothing especially if you're just going to be a cliche emotionless barbie-doll about it.

Calli perfectly explains how I feel about it. Strangely enough I get attacked for saying exactly this. That "not every vtuber has the same experience" and likewise "not every manager is equal." What kind of annoys me I guess is that, let's say Subaru says her personal manager is great and has been nothing but good to her, I don't doubt that. But that also doesn't mean Hololive doesn't have certain "management" issues and it doesn't mean every manager is exactly like Subaru's manager. There's a kind of disconnect people have there where they seemingly want to believe that everyone in "management" is either good or bad. But reality is more complicated. I put management in quotes because there's obviously a difference between the people who manage vtubers / gens, and the people who manage the company. Also people are mostly speculating because we don't know the actual details. So it's not even clear what decision, demand or change made Fauna quit. So it's hard to not have questions and not worry about others who might feel similarly to Fauna. That's another thing that seems kind of obvious to me: the girls who share Fauna's sentiments can't just say "I hate this, this is the worst" because then they like, graduate? And not everyone can afford to quit what is essentially a dream job. At first I thought "those who don't like the changes will simply quit and if people choose to stay it means they're in love with the changes". But I now realize it's not that simple. Many vtubers who don't like some of the changes will probably still try to go along with it because they ideally want to keep this job. They'll try their best to keep up, but might later find themselves unable to adapt or perform at expected levels. So in my mind there's a good chance a few others will also quit in the coming months and that sucks to think about. You can't help but worry about your favorite vtubers. It's nice to hear them say "I'm fine" but if you weren't fine you wouldn't say it either right. "X vtuber says she's not fine" would impact the stocks further and management can't have that. I'm of the opinion that it's perfectly ok to have concerns, about the girls, about management and/or about the direction Hololive is taking. What I'm not a fan of is people trying to force me to stay quiet and pretend like everything is fine and dandy. I don't work for Hololive so to me it's not really important to protect the higher ups feelings or their investments. And I don't understand the people who choose to put management first and are very quick to blame, shame and throw talents like Chloe and Fauna under the bus. "It's their fault, they did it to themselves, they overworked themselves, they were bad idols" are phrases I heard way too much in the last week. Just because I'm worried about certain stuff doesn't mean I want Hololive to fail. It's in fact the opposite lol. But people just call you anti if you dare ask questions or express any concerns whatsoever. I don't want to pretend things are fine, like ideally I would like to see everything being done to make sure the girls' health, happiness and well-being are always prioritized. Even over profits dare I say. That's the thing that concerns me the most personally. Especially after what Lamy said about vtubers no longer being allowed to talk about their health-issues. Stuff like that concerns me and I can't pretend it doesn't.

After recent "graduations" I've kinda lost the emotion of seeing them leave. Like they literally just gonna change their brand (aka vtuber character). I think at the end of the day, it is a good thing because Fauna feels like she can make the choice to leave and it won’t necessarily destroy her streaming career. I think just about everyone and their mother knows at this point that her previous life was Lemonleaf and more than likely she’ll be going back to that after she graduates.
I think if this happens 2-3 years ago, there would be an awful lot of unknowns, but seeing how a lot of former Hololive and Nijisanji Vtubers careers are thriving as indies or current VShojo members, then I think Fauna will be just fine once she leaves. Ngl, gonna miss the Fauna character design, but I’m happy she’s choosing what’s best for her.
I (and probably many others) knows what it’s like to be in Fauna’s position. I’ve worked MANY jobs where I was only at the company for 2-3 years and left because I didn’t think it was a good fit. I see an awful lot of “doom and gloom” posting about Hololive as a company and the people leaving whereas this is WAY more normal than they are making it out to be. Don’t get me wrong, I too have some concerns about Hololive’s current direction, but I wouldn’t put them in the same ballpark as Nijisanji when it comes to corporate incompetence and mismanagement.

I also wanted to say that while I don't watch calli all that often, (her streams usually occur when I'm busy), she's always going to have my respect for how she operates. Always open minded, considerate, honest, and hard working are very much words that come to mind seeing her around. Its something I don't think I've verbalized about her. Because when I see clips like these, they illustrate really how strong she can be for others and herself while not denying anyone their feelings and remaining forward thinking. While she may not be my favorite, Calli definitely has massively earned my respect over the years.

The last part really summarized my feeling, yes it sucks and it is so sad, if you ask me of course I absolutely hope Fauna could stay, but what we could and should do now is to support and respect our oshi's decision. I believe other holomems also have the similar thoughts but Calli really expressed this out so directly and honestly, and I totally believe in her.

I know it's a done deal the instant they come out announcing their departure. The only thing I think the saplings and others can do now is to have as much fond memories as you can while they are in Cover. I would like to see Fauna getting that 1M sub at least before January, she's like about 46K short. Once Jan comes and the dust settles, I'll be seeing some of you saplings on the other side. It'll be a different experience altogether but look forward to that at least.

What I mean by that is, she checks off a lot of the boxes on the list of things you'd associate with the fatherly archetype. When she has something to say, it isn't always sugar-coated, but it's coming from a place of love and sincerity. She just such an... _example_ , to be admired.
To that I have to say... why? Why do companies have to avoid stagnation? Have they never heard of "if it ain't broke don't fix it"? Of course, that only applies to private owned companies that can allow themselves to be comfortable (*cough* Valve *cough*), public companies have to grow no matter what because the shareholders demand it.

The dinamics changed, but Calli tol this day keeps the dad rol, and the mom rol was with Fauna sometime (even tho, regular viewers really didnt think it matched her at all, only more general fans that didnt invest to much time in any talent specifically) and then the rol kind fade out (maybe some people think about Liz like that? idk really, but its a posibillity). Its a little vague explanation, but i dont remember the details, so i went with the general picture (and excluding HoloJP and ID, since that changes some things).

I think the key takeaway is, it’s extremely difficult to please 90 wildly different talents. Someone’s going to be unhappy/disagree with the way things are.
The perks of working at any company tbh. It doesn't even need to be a change in the company. At some point they ask or want things that you don't want to do or you want to do things that the company can't let you do so if a middle ground can't be obtained then you leave and move on. A disagreement can be whatever, it just needs to be something that you really can't compromise despite loving to work there so you choose to quit. Tbh I am really impressed how Cover as a company managed to keep so many talents all this time bc they are all so different and it is a creative type of work and keeping everybody happy in creative environments is hard.
Yeah in the end if Cover didn't take the direction that it did in growing what it can do in the last few years they may have just ended up losing different people. Folks just need to listen to their oshis and try and shut down some of the garbage narratives going around.
This is a weird comfort but it kind of helped me: the maths of the situation shows that a) Hololive has had unusually few graduations so far considering the size of their roster over time and b) that means now it is completely normal for there to be many more graduations than we're used to. Even if we assume the average Holo career is 7 years (a long time in vtubing) then we're still about 10 graduations fewer so far than expected statistically, and anything less than 6 or 7 per year now is still beating the odds.
Edit: it sucks to lose those who graduate (Fauna is my EN oshi), but even then credit where it's due: Hololive still has very good retention rates. Pending further evidence, one must assume a large majority of the girls are pretty happy

You talk as if they left because they had been here for so long and got restless. It feels disrespectful as if you completely dismiss their actual reasons. There's no natural law that says they have to quit and go indie eventually. If they do it means they no longer thinks the agency is worth it.

I think the original comment draws reference from the average content creator life span, like the let's player of early-mid 2010's. Not a lot of them survived until now, and a lot of them that do survive have slowed down or outright retire. 7 years of creating content can be tiring after all, so I get it if the girls wanted to slow down or move to another field.
@@pite9 I think both are true: every talent leaves for their own reasons and makes their own carefully thought out decision (unless it's a termination), and it's a pity for all the fans; and at the same time, statistics across the aggregated population can give us an idea of what to expect as "normal" while not telling us which specific talent will leave when and why. Now of course the assumptions of the stats can be challenged, but I haven't seen much evidence that we should expect the average corpo vtuber career to be much more than 7 years or that the distribution of career lengths is something very different than a normal distribution.
Edit: for anyone curious, the 7 year average figure comes not just from looking at the industry overall but is also borne out by Hololive's own figures based on the proportion of talents that have made it to each annual milestone (1 yr, 2 yrs, 3 yrs...). Looking at that we get an expected avg career length in Hololive of 6.8 years (excluding CN by the way).

I mean, it's not like the talents are dead and gone forever. Fauna, the character, will be gone but the streamer will be back streaming. Yeah, we can watch her any time but it's not really about that. I don't know if people who say that just don't get it or what, but the part that's upsetting and sad is that when they graduate they won't be part of the Hololive group any more and can no longer stream with those people. So, yeah, I'll probably still get to watch her play Pikmin 3 next year, but Promise will forever be missing a member, Faunamart is gone, and she'll never host another tabletop stream with the EN girls. BUT... we will eventually hit a threshold of graduations where they will stop being sad because more and more of them can reunite. We already have streaming potential with Dooby and even Namie if she's up for it.
This is pretty much how I feel, it's the death of this character and the lost of collaboration with other Holomens.

Its... It's so hard man. I've been trying to smile for her, and it's very damn hard. Funny enough Calli and Gura's stream really calmed me, and I'm now not as sad. It's just I hate being Selfish and wanting her to stay for a longer time... I should be rooting for her success on the indie scene, I know she will do very good.

Hang in there, fellow sapling, and don't hate yourself for your selfish wants. I too feel the same, still wishing we were in a timeline where success and purpose coexist for Fauna in hololive. These feelings are authentic, and we should acknowledge that part of us.

"One wrong word and it's over-analysis city" is too true and I hate seeing people speculating and making themselves and other people sad about what they _think_ might be the case when the reality of the matter is we may never get to know and very well may not be allowed to know if we ask in the future. For now I feel more reassured by things Kaela and Calli have said here, among others, about how Fauna will be fine going forward.
Made me teary eyed, i also really appreciate that Mori wasn't subtle about us following Fauna to her new streams, after Hololive. That is extremely reassuring even if she doesn't give names (LemonLeaf for Fauna, dooby for Amelia Watson). Thank you for that, Calli. You have my respect and my appreciation. This is my first graduation and I... holy hell I didn't realize it would hurt. I see people come and go through my life but... Fauna hurts. I'm glad to know she isn't really leaving, just changing, and again I appreciate your kind words and being so gentle with our hearts during this unexpectedly difficult time.
Honestly, yeah. These are still people employed by a company. And if you are not happy with your employer, and especially if you have another path you've ready to go down, why stay?

2:32 unfortunately, creative work and capital growth are nearly incompatible. Not entirely, but nearly. If there was "a way that works for everyone" Cover would simply be another Vshojo. The talents would be confederated, they would have greater creative freedom, but they would be less financially secure and without access to the mechanisms corporations have to make large-scale events and sponsorships (among other opportunities) happen. Do you maintain your artistic integrity at the expense of your financial wellbeing, or do you force yourself to compromise, and even do things you don't want, to ensure your stability and survival under capitalism? Maybe it's reductive, but it is a choice that artists face at one point in their life or another.

The point about the 90+ members is a good one, its kinda crazy to think about. If you asked fans on the spot almost no one would guess its that much.
Personally I'm overall more happy she's going where we think she is and pursuing the type of content she wants to do. I'm just sad for her about the lost collab potential, e.g. I was really enjoying the league streams, just doesn't feel the same without her (no offense at all I love the others especially autofister).
It's genuinely sad to see quite a few fans (EN and even JP) went over to Yagoo's TH-cam channel to vent their anger on him. Some JP fans even asked for "changes" within management to better fit each member's schedule.

Even Astel and Towa talked about it during VCR GTA 3 how they weren't able to even use many of the new studio's rooms because they didn't have enough tech staff, and these fans expected Cover to be able to "neatly" fit schedules to suit all 90 members' needs? I kinda understand calli. Its like how someone you knew said something like "i cant work in this condition, its bad and people are rude etc etc" and you who also work in the same place feel like everything is fine and nothing that actually bothered you.
yeah it's generally two things next to each other and its kinda hard to understand for some people, I've been around too long, worked for to many companies and have had to work with and as a middle management before. and in the process worked with CEO's/Owner-operators and directors.
- A persons relationship with a company as a staff member or contractor is different between people (As much as management/owners/operators even other staff may try and keep things professional and on the level for everyone involved they're human and WILL treat people differently on how the connect with them)
- People have different levels of what they consider respectable or bullshit or whatever else, been on both ends of that, been the person who's the one of the few around who's had enough and one of the ones who's like "this is fine, I'm not annoyed but you do you Boo"
At the risk of rambling on, the thing that gets me most about Fauna's graduation (besides the fact that she's my EN oshi) is that it seems so much more vague, which makes it feel more serious. The way she sounded during the announcement and her specific word choice just leaves me feeling kind of apprehensive. She claimed it wasn't the idol stuff, it wasn't because she didn't want to be a part of hololive, it's not a health related issue... just "disagreement", but that could be anything. And then it seemed like after the announcement every other member focused so hard on reassuring everyone that they still love being in hololive and they're not leaving, that they don't have to travel if they don't want to, they can opt out of things they don't want to do, etc. which made it almost feel as if people were siding with hololive instead of with Fauna, and that made me sad. I feel like instead of the usual "it's okay, she'll be fine wherever she ends up" speech I just want someone to say that she has a good, legitimate reason to leave considering it's her (self-proclaimed) dream job. I'm not doomposting or trying to speculate, I just wish there were something concrete to reassure the fans about her situation in particular. You just don't leave your dream job over a small disagreement, so no wonder people were going wild speculating and overthinking things.
I do hope everyone in vtubing gets to achieve their goals in life before delivering one finally hoorah once they retire, a silver lining and to cherish the fun memories even though it's over

Pretty much my thoughts. People have differing opinions and experiences in their work place which is why you will see different perspectives from members. Some people are not turning on their brain with some of the speculation though. Fauna outright denied certain things being an issue but people still bring it up. There is also speculation that is easy to disprove from anyone that actually keeps up with Hololive like the idea they can't take breaks.

While I'm just casual random clip and sometimes shortwhile stream tuner of HoloEN, it does bit suck that the comedian lineup will be reduced once again.
But like I keep commenting on so many clips about graduations. Corpo or independant, Vtuber life is hard since it's not all about just shooting the breeze and playing games. (And even it is, entertaining giant crowd frequently does get taxing)
I hope I am not reading too much on Calli's words, but seems like there's little bit of disagreement of future of Fauna's. Could be as simple as she wanting to be little less idoly, little more streamery or something. The important part is that whatever Fauna spirit will migrate to after graduation, she better have fun and exciting time!

When 4 of your Big Talents leave consecutively over a short period of time, with a very similar reason of why they leave, of course people gonna make a fuss about it. It's very normal reaction.
It's the main reason people leave companies in general. Why would it be different here? Sometimes people just want to do different things.
Fauna sounded very sad though, so it's obvious if you listen to her that she didn't actually want to quit her job, that would imply she didn't enjoy doing this anymore. But that wasn't it. She felt forced to quit over a disagreement with management.
We don't know what the disagreement was and maybe we'll never know unless she's allowed to talk about it in a year or two.
Edit: sorry, this wasn't directed at OP specifically. It's just that way too many people want to make it seem like Fauna simply hated her job or wanted to pursue other things instead.
@luisochoa576 it feels like the weirdest graduation to me, especially when she enjoys being in Hololive so much that she feels guilty about it. Also, the fact that neither party could come to a compromise, especially when Hololive is very accommodating to the talents. Allowing them to opt out of a lot of things and take long hiatuses if necessary.

It's funny both Calli and Kiara both said keep supporting post holo IYKYK where to go. They aren't loyal to the company beyond the opportunities and the friends in it. Your friends wont want you staying if you don't like the job any more they would rather you be happy, and if you stop having opportunities why stay? Yes it's sad they wont be in collabs any more but we will still see them around and we know they talk BTS.

For being a hololive fan for about 4-5 years at this point, while I had interest in JP talents, the drop of HololiveEN really made me happy to see where it was going. Ame was who I stuck to first, and I loved her all the same. Fauna debuting clicked with me on par with some of the other JP talents that I've wished I could understand more to appreciate their content further.
Graduations have hurt, seeing the girls go for one reason or another, and Ame affected me a lot despite the Ame Way paving way for a shining star every so often. Seeing Fauna announcing her graduation though? This sapling is still hurting from the news, and as Calli said, the selfish wish of mine to get her to stay is ever present. I'll support her to the end, and even as she graduates. I'm bound to the forest after all.

There is no being scared cause what would they fear? the company not going to touch them. Kiara showed the vtuber awards and dooby on while playing up who she was going to vote for.

Yeah, she's right. Even Suisei's been upset with the comments making negative speculations about Cover, but I guess we've been comparing them with other entertainment companies that mistreat their talents. I don't know Cover's situation, but if what Suisei said is right, then they might've done everything for the member's wishes.
But the question is why they stated with the management's relationship negatively? If they have done everything for them, then it wouldn't make sense. I mean, we got 2 members graduating at the same time, and it wasn't normal according to my knowledge and Hololive's history. It's just whatever they said took many misunderstandings, and honestly I fell into that same disappointment against the company like everybody did too!
But yeah, like I always say before, everyone has its own end, even a new goal to achieve. If Cover helped them a lot with full care, then we should respect their will and keep cheering for better future.
I would not be surprised if Suisei got top priority for her projects. It just makes sense to invest in someone who's so successful in recent times.
As someone who struggled within the company in her early career though I'm sure she can relate to that aspect as well, everyone has a different situation.
You're reading to much into the timing of those graduations Chloe gave a good reason health and that she is doing something out side hololive and her health situation made pursuing that AND holo not workable, Chloe went so far as to say Management were very accommodating to her situation to avoid canceling projects but it had just gotten to a loop of not catching up. Fauna is the only one to leave this year saying she had a disagreement with management, and truth is un less she says something on her private channel it was most likely a bunch of boring business disagreements that lead to her choosing to leave. Also Ame and Chloe are Affiliates so not sure how you take it as them having a problem with the company is they are staying partly on board? each circumstance of departure has been unique stop trying to make this some grand drama it's just professionals leaving a job to take their career in a personal direction.

She said afterwards that it's impossible to please everyone, so it's a case by case basis. Magni and Vesper both left for different reasons. Most of them because the indie life suits them better than a vtuber agency.
Well, what do you expect management to do? Realisticlly there really isnt much they can do to improve things.
Difference of opinion? You can't please everyone, its literally impossible. Some members might want to do things differently but if the majority doesn't, the company can't just change things to please the few because the other side might want to leave then.
Health issues/Burnout? Talents are already allowed to have long breaks, they can also refuse jobs and adjust their workload if needed. So other than sending them to the doctors, it's out of management hands.
Work process? A lot is tied with third parties and legal procedures, so the speed of things is not entirely up to management. Their hands are tied and they also have to wait as much as the talents.
Lack of staff? They can't just hire new people on the fly. For one, the new hire have to qualify for the job. Second, any new hire has to be throughly checked otherwise they are a potential security risk. Either by potentially leaking company secrets or an actually threat to the talents which at best would be an overeager fan intruding and at worst a mentallly unstable hidden stalker. Not to mention, the company would need the budget to pay more staff which could lead to selling more shares and that could bring more problems by ceding influence to short term profit chasing shareholders.
Like it easy to blame management, they are not perfect but please keep in mind that for all the flaws, Hololive management is realistically already as good as it can get. None of the members really suffers or are really ignored, some frustation might be there but unfortunately thats just how the world works. If any member wants to leave it's for their own goals as had it been previously.

It's impossible to know without more details, but Fauna left for a reason and there may well have been ways that the company could've done better which would prevent it. And even if right now it's a problem that is only really affecting a few talents, it's important to push back and show unhappiness, so that the problem doesn't grow and start affecting everyone else.
I feel like some fans are trying to push a narrative that actually everything was fine all along and Hololive is and always will be as perfect as it can get, that this was just a normal expected thing, even though in the response there were definitely talents that said there were problems which simply weren't big enough for them to consider quitting.

Yes, Fauna left for a good reason but so will others in the future and there is literally not much to do about it.
There is only so much they can realistically and legally do to streamline things and cater to all the members. There will always be some sort of issues but it's unavoidable due to the size of the company and legal procedures.
Besides the talents themselves are already very vocal about any issues so it's not like the talents are suppressed, they don't need white knights.
Sometimes people simply don't mesh well anymore as a company grows. Like seriously that happens in any growing company. So unless a big incident happens that really screams that something could have been clearly done better, there is no point in blaming management and demanding improvements when it's out of their hand.
It really is the simple reality some members will leave (and that's a guarantee, no one will stay forever) and nothing more could be done about it. People need to accept that too and not doom posting and throwing baseless blame around.
Besides Cover has proven themselve countless times that they strife to do better as much as they can and don't rest on their laurels but we won't see any of the inner workings.

You keep thinking there are some invisible limits to what they can do but outside of some specific things which do not seem to be the reason why Fauna left, they as a company are the ones that define their limits and what they can do. As in, they can always choose to expand their ability to deal with certain things, or relax on whether something is actually necessary for their brand image, etc. It's all about what priorities the company actually has, and what they are willing to do.
If you want everyone that is currently in Hololive to keep being happy with their jobs and be part of that environment, you'd do well to put pressure on the company that they should try their absolute maximum to prioritize every single talent being happy, over everything else.

This is such a real response. Exactly what you'd want to hear, not this ridiculous "everything is going to be okay!" response that we got initially. It's measured, realistic and on its surface transparent. It's not like we want the talents to speak for the other talents, but when its your oshi leaving don't tell me everything is fine because a piece that I loved about the company is now missing, and that sucks.
Kudos to Cali, I appreciate that she understands what's up and isn't afraid to say it. Sad as the situation is, it's a refreshing take that seems far less artificial than some of the others. Sometimes it really is better to say nothing especially if you're just going to be a cliche emotionless barbie-doll about it.

Calli perfectly explains how I feel about it. Strangely enough I get attacked for saying exactly this. That "not every vtuber has the same experience" and likewise "not every manager is equal." What kind of annoys me I guess is that, let's say Subaru says her personal manager is great and has been nothing but good to her, I don't doubt that. But that also doesn't mean Hololive doesn't have certain "management" issues and it doesn't mean every manager is exactly like Subaru's manager. There's a kind of disconnect people have there where they seemingly want to believe that everyone in "management" is either good or bad. But reality is more complicated.
I put management in quotes because there's obviously a difference between the people who manage vtubers / gens, and the people who manage the company. Also people are mostly speculating because we don't know the actual details. So it's not even clear what decision, demand or change made Fauna quit. So it's hard to not have questions and not worry about others who might feel similarly to Fauna.
That's another thing that seems kind of obvious to me: the girls who share Fauna's sentiments can't just say "I hate this, this is the worst" because then they like, graduate? And not everyone can afford to quit what is essentially a dream job. At first I thought "those who don't like the changes will simply quit and if people choose to stay it means they're in love with the changes". But I now realize it's not that simple. Many vtubers who don't like some of the changes will probably still try to go along with it because they ideally want to keep this job. They'll try their best to keep up, but might later find themselves unable to adapt or perform at expected levels. So in my mind there's a good chance a few others will also quit in the coming months and that sucks to think about. You can't help but worry about your favorite vtubers. It's nice to hear them say "I'm fine" but if you weren't fine you wouldn't say it either right. "X vtuber says she's not fine" would impact the stocks further and management can't have that.
I'm of the opinion that it's perfectly ok to have concerns, about the girls, about management and/or about the direction Hololive is taking. What I'm not a fan of is people trying to force me to stay quiet and pretend like everything is fine and dandy. I don't work for Hololive so to me it's not really important to protect the higher ups feelings or their investments. And I don't understand the people who choose to put management first and are very quick to blame, shame and throw talents like Chloe and Fauna under the bus. "It's their fault, they did it to themselves, they overworked themselves, they were bad idols" are phrases I heard way too much in the last week.
Just because I'm worried about certain stuff doesn't mean I want Hololive to fail. It's in fact the opposite lol. But people just call you anti if you dare ask questions or express any concerns whatsoever. I don't want to pretend things are fine, like ideally I would like to see everything being done to make sure the girls' health, happiness and well-being are always prioritized. Even over profits dare I say. That's the thing that concerns me the most personally. Especially after what Lamy said about vtubers no longer being allowed to talk about their health-issues. Stuff like that concerns me and I can't pretend it doesn't.
