What are your favorite Topps Star Wars cards to collect?
It's really hard not to like Star Wars if you grew up in the 70's and 80's. There is a cool card from Topps Chrome Black with The Mandalorian holding Grogu that I dig. I'm also enjoying the 2023 Star Wars Prerelease box. There is a Darth Vader SSP03 that I'd like to pull. I'm not a huge fan of thick card stock (over 100 point), but it's growing on me. What do you think about thicker card stock? I think Fleer Ultra Avengers is over 100 point too.
Yea, I think Star Wars will have a big audience for at least a while, and I have high hopes it’ll keep going in various ways for newer generations (the classics will always have a strong hold, I think).
I like the thick card stock for the rare cards I will have graded. They just look and feel so premium. My only complaint is it can create issues handling them. I think they fit too tightly in standard top loaders, like they’re getting squeezed a bit much. I get a little nervous when someone ships one to me like that (which is often) and they feel stuck in the loader. I think they should go in one-touches.
Some nice looking cards Frankly. Not into this, but still great looking cards esp around 4:42 mark.
Thanks, Sherm! I have been going deep with Star Wars cards lately. Have some other big recent pickups I’ll show on the channel after they’ve arrived. The 1/1 is officially shipped to PSA for Express grading as of today! I will reveal the grade once it’s back 👍
@@FranklyCollecting Good stuff hoping you get that psa 10! Can't wait to see them!
What is your go to top loader brand? If you don’t mind sharing
No particular preference. I mainly reuse toploaders I get with cards shipped to me and prefer to keep cards in binders
I watched a few openings of the Star Wars 2022 topps Chrome Galaxy box. The cards are probably some best looking Star Wars cards I’ve seen. I can’t afford the box price tag at the moment but I definitely want to open some in the future.
The Galaxy series is amazing! You get good value in these Topps boxes it seems, but buying the singles you want can be a good option too, especially the higher numbered serialized ones. Regular refractors can be affordable and look great graded too 👍
Some good tips. You have a good eye for cards that stand out. Have you noticed Ahsoka card prices rising since her D+ show premiered? I think that's another angle to consider.
Thank you! I have figured she would be a hot character, but I’m behind on the show actually. There are some great Ahsoka cards out, including the 206 series, where there is also an image variation, I believe.
