As someone who's read all the Harry Potter books multiple times and a big fan of the movie's, ive never been less excited for anything in my life... when they anounced it i looked at my Mrs and said 2 words... "Oh no...", now the casting is coming out in drips and drabs all you can do is point and laugh.
With all these series currently airing involving powerful families who own land we have entered the Dallas phase. I remember back in the day when there were a crap ton of shows all patterned the same, a Dysfunctional rich family, the insufferable girl trying to ruin things like Alexis on Dynasty, and that is pretty much where we are right now. I saw a video recently about why the maker hated Xander and I quit about halfway through because it was clearly all about the guy having one eye on saying the right thing. Xander is a brilliant character. Most of the teenage boys watching the show (and even those of us who could just remember being teenage boys) he's our go-to character for what we would probably have been like if we'd lived in the Buffyverse. In (I think) the season four opening episode when he gives Buffy a good talking to because she got her ass kicked by Sunday, and he tells her "You're my hero" it's one of the greatest moments in the whole show. And nobody but Xander could have said it.

I think it was Armageddon movie, they were in one of the space stations (ISS or MIR I don't recall which one). one of the devices was malfunctioning some of the astronauts tried and failed to make it work. and the russian astronaut (played by the guy who played satan in Constatine movie) just rants about how everything was made in china and started hitting device and ended up making it work :D

I don't understand these studios and their "We're going to do a faithful adaptation" and then doing completely the opposite. You'd think they would have learned lessons from The Witcher TV series which managed to mangle well known, well documented and well described characters in the name of DEI and then continued by completely wrecking documented character arcs.
I have no faith in HBO managing to do a faithful adaptation as the writers and show runners will always believe they know better than the fans.

Those people didn't even have tracking marks for the VFX artists to work with. They were in full (albeit shitty) costumes! They were either entirely removed in post or their scenes were re-shot to put those nightmare gnomes in.

Kind of, but the Sith have had thousand year dormancies before (if they’re using parts of the old EU still). So it would be more like if Caesar had come back a few times, but it still had been quite some time since the last one. So it’s still a shock to the system every time they return, but it isn’t like telling people that something unprecedented is happening. And you have to remember that there are some longer lived species in Star Wars too.

I have a prediction for the new Star Wars trilogy. I predict that it's actually gonna change hands between 2-3 different directors, with no plan at all, who tell people their theories suck, only to subvert expectations in a tired and lazy way. They're going to call everyone who dislikes this movie a sexist, or racist, bigot. All while alienating their fan base, and dividing the ones who tried to stay committed.

The problem with Skeleton Crew is its timing - if Disney/Lucas had started doing small, kid-oriented showd, then built up to a big theatrical - cohesive - movie they might, maybe, have done the SW's universe well. But they didn't and it isn't and that's sad.
