Scrub oak can be so productive. This past season in Michigan was really challenging finding numbers of grouse early in the season because it was so thick from all the rain we had during the summer. I don't have a dog anymore but I still do well. This year I focused on edges of fields around good cover early in the morning and did well, after most the leaves come down I do real well in areas that have a mix of hardwood (acorns) and pines , mature birch or aspen. You can get some real nice semi open shots when grouse start feeding on acorns. Love being in the grouse woods no matter if I get birds or not. Great video . Good luck.
@baddffish4969 Actually, I shoot a 20ga pump in the grouse/woodcock coverts. But I am so quick with follow up, you'd think I was shooting an auto.🤣🤣 My buddy in the videos shoots an auto. 🙂 I shoot an auto for ducks, geese, and phez.
