He seems super down-to-earth; the body language shows he's not so comfortable at being the center of attention. I think he just wants to go back to work, do his job, and be the best he can be by learning from those around him. Good interview though. And while I am not prepared to crown him the heir apparent to Kenny Lawler quite yet, he has shown that he has the instincts, AND the reaction time to make those jaw-dropping plays that Lawler is known for. Could it be that the Bombers have another young American receiver who will challenge for rookie-of-the-year? Again...I'm not counting our collective chickens before the eggs hatch, but after a game like that (when's the last time a receiver has brought in 13 catches for 200 yards?...when's the last time it was a rookie?), it does appear at least possible. But whatever his development curve looks like, he should at least have a solid CFL future ahead of him, so that's nice.
One game does not a star make.....let's see how he does when teams start keying on him. Yes, 13 receptions is incredible however it's a long season and to be a star you have to be consistent game in and game out. I'm hoping this kid has a bright future ahead of him! The Riders have a very tough secondary as does TO and BC so the next 4 games will be a measure of his abilities.
A star has been born!
Good game!
