I honestly think, If Hotline Miami 3 were a thing, this is how it would start, and Hotline miami 2's ending would have been different. personally very impressed with this campaign.
This is such a meme campaign. Lol the whole point of HLM2 is that all the violence was pointless and there is no escape, having them leave WITH JACKET safely defeats the entire purpose of the story and is unintentionally hilarious.
I kinda agree, legit thought halfway through the campaign that they were goibg to say something like"actually the bomb in San Fran missed and Beard is still alive!" Or something like "actually Jake dodged the bullet from the 50 blessings manager and he's not racist anymore!" Like typical golden ending fan fic. Pretty fun to play though and it gave me some ideas about gimmicks to put in my own levels.
@@Ishiiru6884 I don't tend to get into the nuances of Hotline Miami 2 storytelling at parties. Lol but I get your point, it is a funny thing to get miffed about. If you enjoy the campaign I'm not going to argue with you on it. I just wanted to share my thoughts because a huge part of what I love about HLM2 is the endless violence of human evolution and our connection to being war-driven animals as our fatal flaw.
I like the direction where this was going, but I don't know how to feel about Richard just asking you directly to stop instead of letting you choose if you still want to keep going with this or not.
The own game doesn't know its themes, if it's supposed to be about how killing leads to nothing but more killing, then they really missed the mark with the fact that EVAN STILL DIES EVEN THOUGH HE DOESN'T KILL ANYBODY CANONICALLY

This makes no sense. Jacket was no "hero". He didn't do this because he wanted to. He did it because he was forced to. He took 0 pleasure in doing any of it. He would have told the Fans to get bent and to leave him alone.
Ah yes, Jacket is a hentai protagonist. Seriously, if someone's gonna have a Jacket Face, make a youngified version of the Payday 2 one, the one that doesn't look like a cancer patient that is. As far as we know, Payday 2 Jacket according to overkill is the same Jacket, just that Payday 2 runs off a different Continuity, which is unspecified but hey idk, maybe Biker in another timeline actually sought to expose 50 Blessings and was successful or Evan Wright did it, with both outcomes averting the nuking? IDK, they could have tied the Dentist as being a 50 Blessings Operative at the top of the food chain considering the games lore or even the reason why the Colonel went fucking mad. The Dentist in Payday 2 is a conniving bastard with a lot of 7D chess on his portfolio so the fact the Colonel went mad is probably fitting (The dentist was Heinrich Himmler for crying out loud). Anyways I digress.
@@super_manul1167 yeah, the Diamond Trailer showed a guy with a glint of glasses, Himmler, a specific Benjamin Franklin painting when seen from an angle, can have the same glint of glasses and in the same heist, the burning of the white house painting has the same Glint of glasses. Henry's rock had the same glint of glasses on the Dentist. I'm pretty sure that's not a no brainer, even back before the connections, I kinda thought when The Diamond trailer was released that at some point, the Dentist was gonna screw us over.
I mean, he does kinda look like the jacket from the comics but I'd honestly rather no face sprite at all or his face bandaged or something even though it wouldn't make sense in this context
I liked this campaign a lot, but i do agree it does sort of conflict the points of Hotline Miami, the ending is what it is for a reason, and i feel iffy about it. That being said I did really enjoy this campaign, i think it serves as a good "what if" neutral ending of HLM2 whereas the original ending is the bad ending. But it kinda isnt since like i said everything in that game happens for a reason and while this campaign sort of contradicts the messages the game shares, its really good. 7/10
I like the, “there’s no rainbow bridge waiting for you” line.
The fact that they idolize him for something he didn't want to do... Ouch, my soul...
i love how one of the fat guys in henchmen’s house is exercising on the treadmill, made me laugh a little.
damn that was so cool, i wish you could play with Jacket in some scene, love that ending.
The son Being a playable character must have taken a lot of effort for an ending like that, the official one is good but this one was much better
One of the greatest campaigns ever made in my opinion
it is more story than gameplay, but to be fair gameplay doesnt make the campaign
You know, i really like the official ending but HOLY FUCK, this was so aweasome.
I wish this was the official ending
The drugs hit the son enough that he's walking on the sky
Again
gameplay 10%
dialogues 90%
I felt sentimental too at the end;(
Sheeeet, me too, man
This is a really cool campaign. I def gotta get back into HM2.
13:44 it's almost if Claude from gta 3 started talking
When that happens, the world's gonna collapse
Richard speaking is not the end of the world but if Claude does so we will have the end of the world assured.
love the campaign, only thing is that there’s so much exposition like oh my god😭

does anyone know what song plays in the first intro sequence?
"Ghost" by El Huervo
