Bought this helmet from NJ and received it in 3 days with express shipping. Upgraded from original r1 carbon which as also ece only Build quality is a bit better than the original Original r1 was 2.79lb this one is 2.98lb because of the exe 22.06
I'm surprised about the noise score, I always heard that carbon fiber helmets were actually not shining for their isolation, so for it to be the quietest race helmet ever tested, wow...
I have a question, they rated this helmet with a noise isolatiob of 96 and the nxr2 with 98 and that doent make any sense becouse the shoei its quieter than this one

@@lauriL90 I had several shoei’s before the Arai. I like their helmets quite a bit as well. The Arai was real nice as well. I was just searching for something quieter and the R1 was getting crazy good reviews not only in sound level, but everywhere and it was a great price. It’s still a good helmet. Low sided with it on back in November and smacked my head on the pavement pretty good, but no concussion. Wish I had one around my ribs lol. One broke rib and a deflated 🫁. All good now! Looking for another helmet lol.
I'm about to order this helmet but I am worried about the size, considering that my head measures 57 cm I would be in size M but I am worried that it will be too loose and since I cannot try it on I can only trust in the size chart, is it reliable?
Nobody wants helmet returns, so size charts (from the manufacturer) are accurate. Additionally, the Scorpion Exo-R1 Evo Carbon is equipped with an Airfit system, that you can use to make the cheekpads a bit thicker, invaluable if for some reason the helmet does feel loose.

I weighed both, the EXo-R1 EVO Air and the EXO-R1 EVO Carbon and for some reason, the carbon helmet is acutally HEAVIER than the regular one. Carbon weighs about 1437 grams while the regular one is at roughly 1390 grams. Why should I pay more for a carbon helmet when it is actually heavier?

Hey I have a shoei rf1200 Size Large (my head size is 60 cm ) will the scorpion R1 size large be a perfect replacement and My concern is will my mouth touch the inflation pump in the scorpion R1 ,as I have half an inch of space in my shoei rf1200 size large.

If you ordered it from Europe (like I did) then no, it will not be DOT approved. But I have never had a cop give me trouble for it. Besides, DOT is a joke of a rating.

If you mean between the Air and Carbon Air, it’s the shell material.
The Air is fiberglass and the Carbon is… well, carbon fiber.

i came from shoe nxr2, yes this is much louder but its the same with all carbon helmets. Need to get back to shoei.

Of course.
Just like the old one did.
DOT is the easiest of the certifications.
If it passes ECE, it automatically passes DOT.

How would you compare this one to the EXO 1400?
The EXO-1400 is made touring oriented and has an integrated sun visor while this helmet is more designed as a race helmet!

Is it true scorpion is small in size and should pick 1 size bigger or should I trust the size chart? Im usually size S.
Just bought myself a size S. They are true to size.
If anything they're very slightly large, I have an R1 Air (old, not the evo) and I'm normally L but I could fit an M, although slightly tight.
