Twenty year-old boy here. I absolutely adore this kind of music, because I always imagine myslef sitting in a coffeeshop in New York, while it's dark, snowy wheather, simping hot chocolate and looking through the window. My hometown is Czech republic. I don't know if that is because I don't have many friends so I rather enjoy my time alone than smoking weed and making stupid jokes with some dudes next to, but I think spending time like that, listening to oldies (especially in holiday season), is priceless.

The breakdown of the family unit (dad and mom) along with parents that wanted to be friends with their kids' vs the parent has led to breakdown in society, lack of respect, a me, me, me time and have forgotten that as a whole we all play a part. Dad has the responsibility of leading family, mom has responsibility of managing home and keeping kids in order under Dads guidance. Yes, I am old school, and believe God has instructed His order to make our lives better and holy. 68 yrs old and all my life I was given 3 gifst for Christmas. One from parents, One from my siblings that 'drew' my name and one from Santa. All of my siblings have stuck to this for this kids and never use credit cards for gifts. This is Jesus' birthday celebration and we are so greedy we want the gifts to be given to us.
At 65 years old, these songs take me back to when I was 10 or so, my parents playing these old songs as we basked in the warmth of friends and family...

Helping my grandma who lived two houses away decorate her tree which she bought from the elms club every year, I remember throwing the tinsel on the tree, tinsel was made of lead back then, the lights were the large ones, c7 with the cloth wires, she also had bubble lights, they would get very hot.
I hope every one this year for xmas gets a orange netted stocking with a big huge Santa face on it--- with a comic inside and candy hard boiled coloured pebles inside--- beats the modern day xmas stocking of today--- the oldern times every thing had real flavour --- simple things in life are often the best--- have a wonderfull xmas to every one and peace and togetherness is what it's all about--- gosh I'm off to knit some socks for xmas 🎄 gifts for every one--- oh grand par loves his poppy - oil---- I must not forget---

When I was young at 8 years old. I usually lived my maternal grandmother together. She was devout christian. Sometimes I remember that she gave me 20 cent every sunday in the church. and taught me hymn and Christmas song I became reached as your same age (50). Thanks my maternal grandmother. Let’s just say I heard these very songs sitting on my daddy’s lap listening to them on our old standup radio. As a young child with thoughts of Santa filling my head, the tree wasn’t put up till Christmas Eve after we went to sleep. We were poor but in our stocking was special treats like an Orange, Apple, nuts of various kinds and of course the holiday favorite, a candy cane. I still remember that last Christmas before my daddy was killed in a coal mining accident when I was just 7 years old. Christmas was never the same after that and it’s 74 years later but I still have that special memory sitting on his lap singing, maybe that’s why tears are running down my cheeks. What I really love about what's to be seen placed on the display is what was known about Santa. They knew about Santa that he was dressed in red, a red hat and a long white beard. Then there was a commercial on tv about coca cola and Santa presenting it (in those days as the best..., there are concerning health better drinks now😏) but as Santa was seen in a way that was striking, lovable and his appearance too !! THAT'S when "they knew" what he looked like 😁 !! 💝 Have a joyfull Christ-mass and all good for the new year. And remember the words of the song "Hark the angels sing" -> Hé (Jesus Christ) was born so we could be born a second time !!
