Awesome video very thorough and the audio was spectacular! i liked how you didnt beat around the bush or waste any time with boreing comments, once again thank you for the vid!
That video was AWSOME!!! As a novice wrench turner you made this job seem so simple. I just bought an 87 N/A and the previous owner stated that the belts were done a few weeks prior to the sale to me. I did notice some belt whine and from what I have read on the net the balance belt might be too tight. After looking at your video it seems pretty simple to check and adjust the tension. Thanks again for posting this video!!
Thank you Sir, I have been looking at my 89 944 sitting in my drive way for far to long telling myself that my other projects were easier to maintain so i've been more focused on them but the simplicity of your video has given me the kick in the pants I needed.... Thanks, Great Video..
Sadly, I sold the car...still bummed (moved halfway across the country). When I can, I'll get another one, they are amazing cars. PORSCHE 944 turbo review with sounds and racing
I'm looking at replacing the belts and water pump on my non-turbo 86 NA. Any idea of the pounds needed on a properly tensioned timing and balance belt? The very expensive Porsche tool used for this is supposed to read 2.0 + or - 0.3 for a new timing belt and 2.4 to 3.0 for the balance belt. Since I don't plan on purchasing this tool, any idea what an indicator rated in pounds ought to read?
I watched (well tried) to watch a couple different vids before I did the job and could not believe I was watching fellows taking out EVERY bolt etc. Seemed like a bit of a waste of time to me... Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you for the video, nice a quick synposis before I tacle the belts on my 968.

Great video very informative
Very good and clear

Thank you for the video. Where did you get your parts and special tool?
www.arnnworx.com/catalog/
Do you really have to take the crank pulley off to change the belts?
Yes, to get the lower plastic cover off - the cover is two piece.
how many miles you recommend on a timing belt? mine was replaced at 86k, I'm at 106k right now.
I believe it's every 30k miles but just just stick to 15k-20k.
if not timing will be off even from a slightest turn of the crankshaft. then you'll need a new motor.
