      They didn't add a speedometer for a reason and that's so you don't get distracted and you strictly focus on riding the scooter. That thing is a beast I've riden the test demo last year and if you want a speedometer just use your phone simple as that.

    I like the stem design of the wepeds I just hate how there is absolutely no design beyond that. The scooter is covered in silver screws and the body looks like a giant box. The wheels are impractical for a two wheeled vehicle. The scooter has cheap red switches and buttons and no speedometer at all. For the price that these sell for I'd expect at least a little better design. People who want to pay for speed and nothing else will probably buy a Rion.

    the throttle should be working in exponential mode instead of linear mode, so that you dont get those sudden undesired accelerations just by barely pushing in the throttle....

    • @littlejackalo5326
      @littlejackalo5326 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Lucho RR you have no idea what you're talking about. Neither exponential, logarithmic, or linear control is good for throttle control. It needs to be a sigmoidal-like curve. There really aren't any (mainstream, quality) electric bikes or scooters with a linear throttle curve. It's trash, or designed by people who don't know what they're doing, or who are ignorant to the dynamics of the HMI of the throttle. (Like you.)

    The way they did this if the pin comes loose at high speed the rear tire assembly will just fail and you'll be sliding on the bottom of the chassis. I would have preferred the back tire to hinge from the bottom and use gravity to take the weight.

    Great video and was fun to watch. My biggest beef with these awesome high-powered scooters is they all go with the wide ass squared off tires for some reason. Anything on two wheels that relies on leaning to effectively turn needs a rounded damn tire. When the scooter fights your leaning, it’s neither predictable or safe. Imagine if motorcycles had what essentially amounts to car tires-it would suck. I think the aesthetics of wide tires help sell the scooters. But once you ride it, it’s a very disappointing feel. And put a flipping speedometer on it! The scooter’s cost warrants it. Let the rider determine if looking down on it is safe for them or not.

    I’m sure the tires have to be that wide for stability at 70+ mph, that is insane, I want one, I wanted the 40mph Varla, until this. The Varla is probably a better all around and versatile scooter, and it pretty fast but omg the sound that thing makes and the reactions the rider has, wow. The one thing that I am questioning is if those spins are strong enough to hold the wheel assemblies in place without breaking @70+mph hitting an unexpected bump, or grain of sand, and the handlebars he said weren’t strong enough.

    I’m an old guy (79) and new to scooters. I have a Splach Twin(I got tired of waiting for a Splach Transformer, and was complaining so Splach sent me a Twin to play with in the meantime). I just had a Reverse Total Replacement, Right Shoulder. The Transformer was delivered the day after surgery. I’m afraid riding is on hold, maybe till spring. Hope my Metacycle is delivered before then! Thanks for the video.

    It should've been a speedometer on it to change preferences like braking power, or adjusting the 1 2 and 3 speed levels. Also if you go to fast and jump over something how would the pin be, at the back of the scooter ? it has so small locking ball joints at the end of the lockpin, so if no pressure is on the lockpin and you jump, could it possibly wiggle itself out of position ?, it should've been a hole at the end of the pin and then a small bolt that goes through it with a nut at the end. Although the bike seems like quality, but for the pricing, they missed out alot of gadgets on it. I would not feel safe with those locking mechanisms atleast, small ball joints, also if smuss gets into those ball joints, they will not pop up again.

    Im sure the reason they dont do this folding mechanism on other scooters is simply due to the manufacturing process. This seems to be mostly hand machined parts so it would be no trouble to drill another hole but on a pressed sheet metal design or cast metal design you would need to hire someone else on the line just to drill these holes for the folding and locking mechanism. It wouldnt really be that hard for you to do it but from the companies point of view that one hole is worth an extra paycheck
