Thank you Goldie, for bringing this music to the world. I first listened to this aged 17 in 1994. By 18 I was in rehab and couldn't listen to the music of my 'dark' days. 25 sober years later and I am LOVING this.

1:50 Inner City Life is a piece of music that regularly reappears in my life every so often. There is no piece of music like this, it's of it's time, yet timeless. It's haunting, yet comforting, despairing, yet chilled. I feel so much listening to it and I thank you in my head, everytime I hear it again. This music is a treasure.

He truly is one of the drum 'n bass greats and a musical visionary. Brings a good feeling to me my heart to see some of his vision realised.

inner city life is definitely A drum & bass masterpiece by goldie from 1994 as it's probably more relevant now than it was back in 1994 with what's going on in the uk! it's just a timeless classic as it don't sound like a 30 year old track! the female singer Diana charlemagne made this tune as she nailed it on this track! she got took way from us way to soon!!! 🔈🔉🔉🥳🥳🥳

I was a 15 year old closeted gay boy when Innercity life came out, I was kind of anxious but also curious about what the future would bring. This song calmed me at that time, it was dark and brooding, but also exiting like a warm summer night in a concrete jungle. So many memories.
Hope the future brought you everything you thought it would 💛 music is deep, music takes me back aswell to a time in my life which was so carefree & easy yet at the time I just didn’t know that one day that’d all change 😕 but these songs take me back to the good days and I feel warmth inside to of experienced such good times x

yeah, 50% of the song is the top end, the other 50% is the amazing bassline which is inaudible here.

Always had respect for Goldie ever since the Bombin' doc and his graf days. An extremely talented artist who I had the pleasure of meeting briefly. Top bloke. Funny how certain artists stay with you all your life. He's one of 'em. Love the Heritage project too.

I remembered how great a job Vanessa Haynes did of representing Diane Charlemagne and pure vibing when she wasn't singing.💃
I remembered how buzzed Goldie was off Adam Betts's immensely tight drumming, making sure the crowd gave due respect and then getting up close and personal for that pressure release.🥁😤
I'd forgotten how much of an impact this work had on me, with floods of tears and full-on double fist pumps at the close.✊😭✊
I haven't forgotten how much my tape of Timeless got rinsed to death in 1995 aged sixteen and onwards.📼

I think Goldie and "Timeless" is worth its salt BECAUSE its held up so long to be interpreted into a live performance as it was meant to be done. Sort of how Goldie said it, "Some things need to be left alone for a very long time." It proves the track is Timeless because its held up even leading up to the point where it could be translated into a live setting with a full orchestra.
..Some DJ's hit the nail on the head by creating masterpieces. Goldie invented the nail to be hit....🙏

xx5CARECROWxx I've been following Drum & Bass since 1993 and still absolutely nothing has came near the impact of Timeless. While producer like LTJ Bukem, Adam F, Roni Size, 4 Hero, Photek, High Contrast, Black Sun Empire, Noisia , Dom & Roland and many others had all their own great moments none of them managed to produce anything as monumental as Goldie, Rob Playford and all the musicians involved did with Timeless.

I remember listening to this constantly on my 'Walkman' back in 1996 I was obsessed with with this track, I went on holidays with my parents to Maljorca back in the summer of that year, I listened to it at least 6 times a day.

But, a bit of a strange crowd. Seemed like there were loads of locals who were just on a random night out, saw the name "Goldie" and thought "yeah, why not...haven't got a clue what it's about, but it might be good". They didn't seem like DnB heads. Not everyone, obviously. But quite a high percentage. Sipping drinks and chatting, rather than witnessing Dance Music heritage making new history. Weird.

Since its release, this album has been the soundtrack to almost everything joyous in my life. From the guru of DnB Probably the most influential album to anyone who loves DnB and undeniable so to many who hear it for the first time. 22 yrs later and it still features heavily in all my play lists and my day to day listenings. Gobsmacked that some one could add a thumbs down to this. Complete bell end. Why even bother if your not a fan then don't listen. Orchestration of Timeless is only the next step in its evolution as this album will be reproduced over and over again. Can't wait for the next development. Love it, love it, love it.
