I'm just seeing this in Nov. 2023 but I have to comment. This video is superbly produced IMO but what really stands out is Gwen's guitar playing. For me it isn't just her performance, which is great, but the fact that she strums OVER THE MIDDLE OF THE SOUND HOLE. Fantastic! Her technique really brings out the full (and great) tonal quality of the 114e. How many acoustic guitar review videos have I seen where the player strums/picks too close to the bridge. The result: a thin, tinny sound; it doesn't matter which guitar they're playing. And that person is supposed to be demonstrating the tonal quality of the guitar. Great stuff Steven and Gwen. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Gwen is a great aoustic guitarist. She started out playing classical guitar, whereas I started with electric right away. I learned a lot of acoustic skills thanks to her and I'm glad to hear her talents showed in this review 😊
Wow, Gwen can REALLY play. I bought the same Taylor guitar after this and many other reviews followed by a few hours at a local store playing a dozen or so guitars. It didn’t matter what else I tried, even more expensive Taylors, I just kept coming back to this one.
Thanks, I will pass the compliments on to her! And it's such a cliché, but I do think the guitar picks you. Sometime some things just fit. Happy you got one and like it!
I own two Taylor Acoustic guitars now. I started with a GS Mini and I just recently bought a 114e. I absolutely love both of them. They are great playing, wonderful sounding instruments.
I almost got myself the GS Mini as well. Played it at a gig this summer in open tuning. Simply lovely guitars. In the end I went for an Epiphone Hummingbird, the handmade one, because switching between this and my J45 felt more natural. But these Taylors are great!
I chose this guitar over the Martin D12. Not sure if because the gloss made the Martin sound dull. This guitat is very comfortable to play. Great video guys!

Excellent video and beautiful playing.

This is a really well made video.
Thank you very much Dylan!
Hi Gwen, what do you think of the size? Looks big on you.

Thanks! Gwen had the same thing when comparing a Martin to the Taylor. It has nothing to do with the gloss though, Taylors have a more modern sound.
