Thanks for the great video! I work as an oncology NP and they have asked me to add on call time for weeknights and weekends. Is there some kind of formula you know of for call pay?
I work in family practice in Mississippi. 7 years experience, I see up to 30 patients a day, no admin time. I have been making $99k. It’s frustrating because you go to school, work hard and still make new NP pay.

i make 140k as a RN working from home..so yeah quit that job
Your state has the lowest cost of living at least. Homes are 33% less than the national average and utilities are 9% less. I don't know if it would be any better making double that in a Los Angeles suburb. The practice is saturated but it will get better as the older family physicians age out as most med students are going into more lucrative specialties.
30 patients a day is insane though.

In New York they prefer FNP in acute care because we can deal with all walks of life vs acute care Np can only work with adults and gero. Even tho we are out patient specific they teach us both acute care and outpatient care in our program.
can FNP work in the ED?

@XmXm999 I would add that if you are a new FNP looking for ED work, try hospitals that are not trauma centers. They will provide a bridge into the ED
I am a DNP FNP. Started Pmhnp post MSN program. Live in Florida. There seems to be oversaturation of FNPs here. Does same apply to Pmhnp? Any thoughts?
The best resources regarding local dynamics are : FB specific forums (search Florida PMHNP or Florida NP) where you can ask questions, search previously asked questions, connect with similar folks on your area and DM. Also, look for regional chapters of society groups like AANP or psych related fields. Networking will be your best friend when you want this kind of insight. Also consider linked in.
Does having to take the boards multiple times affect your chances to have a god job?

I’m in my second sem of NP school. I have started out AGPC. I want to switch. I have a long career in the hospital and outpatient. I’d love to work w a speciality Neuro clinic or hospitalist position. I’m in my mid 40s. I’m concerned that going acute care with my age will put me at a bad position. Any input?
I would absolutely switch now. Don’t worry about the age. I was 40 when I graduated, I talk to a fair amount of people on their 2nd or 3rd career late to the game upcoming NPs. There are more of us than you realize.
They should be paid much much less considering they're failed doctors.
NPs never even apply to med school so….
