    What is the purpose of you registering all your rabbits?

    • @kodykeister6919
      @kodykeister6919 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daina Smith, it proves that the rabbit was free of DQ’s. Also makes your rabbits and their lines, and your rabbitry more creditable. It’s a good practice if you’re breeding and showing an ARBA recognized breed at a registered rabbitry.

      Kody gave a good explanation. It also provides a detailed written history or direct descendants.

    We just found out its great to give our does oats
    Our one doe has babies 3weeks old aprox and they are trying to eat her oats and sunflower seeds...i think they are eating her kibble and hay too
    Is the oats and sunflower seeds safe in small amounts for the kits?
    Thanks very much for your time xoxox

      They are. But they also change the protein ratio. I pull the oats from mom at 3 weeks when I observe kits beginning to eat grain. At that time I begin free feeding 18% pellets only.

    How long do you keep your does for breeding?

    • @gracehollow6293
      @gracehollow6293  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Either until I get an offspring I like better than her or until she quits producing.

    When did blue New Zealands become recognized? The only ones I was aware of are the whites blacks reds and recently broken. The blues look like a rex on steroids. Lol. I prefer the meat breeds myself. Darn nice looking rabbits.

      3 years ago, New Zealand's ARE a meat breed.

      @@gracehollow6293 lol I know. I have had rabbits much of my life. I just meant I prefer the meat type breeds over the fancies. With the meat breeds you don't worry about markings so much just good type. I like the New Zealands or Californian best and have had both. You have some husky does though for sure . Nice stock.

      @@joeldavis8851 thank you. It takes work, patience, and dedication to breed for the traits you want. I breed for meaty stock.
