For those of you who aren't organic, Asian and Mexican grocery stores (or other international shops) sell produce for insanely cheap in some places. We always get leafy greens from the Vietnamese shops, and while it's not always a green we'd eat in a typical western meal, they're just as rich in nutrients and equally delicious. Tofu is also pretty cheap there, and they do sometimes have organic options. For bulk items (not bulk bin items), check online prices. If you're in the US, Sprouts has double ads on Wednesdays. They often rotate between Organic, GF, Vegan, or other sales each week. When a GF month comes up, stuff can be 25-50% off!
Maddie Lymburner you should try to bring some mason jars in for at least the nutritional yeast!! I usually just go to the check out first thing and tell them that I’m getting something in bulk and they’ll weigh the mason jar so you can get the stuff in bulk without having to pay for the weight of the mason jar too!! It’s a live savor for when the reusable bags just don’t cut it:)

What I always do to save money: I go to the "cheapest" store first and I try to buy as many things there as I can.
my city has banned plastic bags and its really taught me to reduce my waste even further!

Also really good...watermelon, frozen strawberries, mint, and lime juice...and a dash of maple syrup if the fruit isn't super sweet. So good!

I'm someone who eats about as much veg per day as some entire families eat in a week and my number 1 tip is to buy the veggies that are on sale and/or the ones that just look the freshest that week - don't be picky about which veg you want, but just go into the store and look at all the options and then decide which to buy based on price and freshness. This helps save money and also gets you the freshest picks. I see people go into the store thinking that they absolutely have to a particular vegetable, but really it is so much easier to just buy what looks good. As long as you are buying a variety of veggies and leafy greens, you don't have to buy the same thing every week! And it is fun to switch it up and try new things!

Loved this video!! In relation to grocery shopping I just started using coconut aminos soy sauce and teriyaki sauce replacements and they are delicious and vegan! It's so good with rice and veggies!
See if your store will allow you to use your own glass containers by making note of the weight of the empty container, then subtracting that from the filled weight to price your purchase. Many of them will, and it works great for items like nooch.
Looks amazing! Lots of yummy vegan food :) I have a tip to reduce plastic when you forget bags or have some that won't hold the bulk ingredients that you need! Usually in grocery stores by the mushrooms there are brown paper bags, they are a great alternative to the plastic bags in the bulk food section. I know its still paper but it is better than the plastic ones! Loved the video
When you were talking about the health food store I kept thinking "I bet its Goodness Me!" They have one in Guelph where I used to live it was such a great store!

hahaha plants are high in fibre and low in cals compared to the SAD type foods so we get to eat mooooore!
DrGreen my mom's trainer looked at my skinny frame, asked what I eat, I told him the amount of food and calorie count, and he just stared, speechless, then said I should be eating about 1/3 of it. I didn't mention the vegan thing. I might bring it up in a while so he can help others with food as well as exercise.
If you want the honest truth you will eventually be broken, it may be too late to repair at that point as well. Your body needs fats, that's why you have yo eat so much because your body is running off sugar so you spike and then come back down and are hungry again.

I was responding to DrGreen, but it applies to all vegan diets, nearly all of your food gets converted into sugar, it's not good for the body. I get that you guys could never eat animal, but you have to make a sacrifice to your health in order to do that.

I shop the same way - health food store or Trader Joe's, Costco, King Soopers (my local grocery). And I LOVE that Fakin' Bacon! I've been eating it for about 30 years! I don't buy as much produce from Costco, but I do buy a lot of stuff there like Quinoa, Rice, frozen fruit, canned beans, and peanut butter. Oh, and they have the best deal on maple syrup.

I love shopping at Central Market. Since they are a sister company of HEB , they have super low prices and a mix of all the great specialty foods and some regular grocery store foods as well. Plus they have a TON of produce, including exotic, and it is all loose, including organic cherry tomatoes! 😁👍

Yup I hit atleast 3 too sometimes four cause an ethnic market like Latin, Indian or Middle Eastern is a must for certain spices and different kind of herbs and root vegetables, breads..And shopping for groceries online like Amazon or Thrive, daammnn atleast I never eat out

I use paper bags, like the paper lunch bags from the Dollar Store for items that can fit through the mesh bag. Especially good for spices.
I love blending watermelon with frozen strawberries!
My only tip: take your own re-useable small foldable/ zippable ´shopping bags´ & use them for buying greens & fruits that go by the pound/ kg (but I guess over there everything´s already wrapped in plastic unfortunately..) Haha I also go to 3 stores every week;)! Also to 1 health store for all my organic greens & healthy organic nuts, dates etc.; to 1 ´normal´ supermarket for packaged foods & some fruits & to another - less expensive - supermarket for more organic packaged food aaand in summer to the outdoor market for more fruits:) .. Takes me 3 to 4 hours in total (in Holland here so all by bike;)) but it´s worth it;)

If you have any yard at all, kale is super easy to grow. You can grow it in a pot and you get a good yield from it. If you have too much, it freezes well it to use in smoothies later. It also grows late into the very late into the fall.
I don't know if it suits your taste but watermelon for two, half an inch ginger, maybe 2 or 3 tsp lemon juice, sugar or anything else for sweetness..... and few mint leaves... 🍸

I live on a small island in Alaska, 20 or so of us get together and use Costco for a lot of vegan products. Costco delivers to the barge in Seattle and 2 1/2 days later it shows up here! :)
